RE: Salted Nut Roll Bars

Leo, this sounds wonderful. I love the sweet and salty combination!
Remember that very popular jello and pretzel recipe back in the late 80's. I use to love that recipe too. Again sweet & salty. But alas, I lost that recipe. Does anyone happen to have it?
Is this it?

RE: Kraft Food & Family free recipes

My sister must have been getting this for free as she kept telling me how much she liked the Kraft magazine. I just signed up for 2 years because I trust that if my sister and Cruzette recommend it, it must be good!

RE: ol'blue/Debbie!

I love Ol' Blue's recipes. Here's one that I get requests for:
Peanut Butter Chocolate Bars
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
1 cup chunky peanut butter
1 to 2 cups unsalted dry roasted peanuts
Place chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and peanut butter in a microwaveable bowl. Microwave until chips are melted. Stir well.
Pour 1/2 of the chip mixture in a foil lined 9x13 pan.
Freeze for 15 minutes.
Add 1 to 2 cups unsalted dry roasted peanuts to other half of chip mixture. Set aside.
Filling:
2 tablespoons boxed vanilla pudding (not instant)
1/4 cup milk
1/2 stick butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups powder sugar
Combine vanilla pudding, milk, and butter in a microwaveable bowl. Do not add vanilla at this time. Microwave 1 to 2 minutes. Stir Well.
Add vanilla. Stir well. Add powdered sugar and stir well.
Spread over chocolate mixture from freezer. Top with chocolate and peanut mixture. Refrigerate and cut into small pieces

RE: Oreo Truffles

Ok, I made them. You should freeze the balls to make dipping easier but it's still messy! I took them to work and they were a big hit. Another suggestion is to use Nutter Butter cookies instead of the oreos. Enjoy!

Oreo Truffles

These sound and look great. I'm going to try them next week:
Orea Truffles
1lb 2oz pkg of oreos
8 oz softened cream cheese
1 lb melting chocolate wafers-melted
Grind cookies in food processor until fine, transfer to bowl and mix in cream cheese, roll into 1 inch balls. Dip or coat balls w/ chocolate. Let dry on wax paper. Decorate as desired.

Does anyone feed their dogs Loyall brand dog food? If so, what is your experience with it? Our brand is getting a little too expensive and I am considering quality affordable alternatives. thank you.

RE: Too Many Flies !!!

Sounds like you need to borrow my electronic fly-swatter!!! I ordered it off Ebay although lots of the RV supply places sell them - looks like a tennis racket with "D" Cell batteries. You push the little button that charges the grid and swing - good for flies, moths, mosquitoes, etc. Sure came in handy in OBX.
I saw someone using one of these last time we went camping. I could not figure out what the heck they were doing! Now I know!

RE: Weight in over-the-cab area

Thanks for advice. I guess if they are too cold they can sleep up there. I'll put my son (the heaviest) towards the back and hope for the best. This camping trip came together fast (hence the lack of camping equipment) and I so wanted our first family trip to be lots of fun so I can convince them to pursue it. I didn't mention there will also be my 1yr old granddgtr and a new 12 wk old puppy!

Weight in over-the-cab area

The weight limit in the over-the-cab sleeping area on my Freelander is 350lbs. Has anyone exceded that by 50lbs? What happened?
Thanks, we are going camping with my novice son and dgtr in law. they are bringing a tent and not much else. It has been in the fifties at night and I think they will have to sleep in the RV but only room is in the over-the -cab.

Saw an enjoyable movie

I just rented a video from the library called, "Mobile America with Huell Howser". It's about the history of RVing. They visit a collection of pre WW 2 RVs and attend a rally of 1935 to 1960 RVs. It was amazing to see some of the innovations the early RV pioneers invented. One very interesting fact was that in the thirties, housing was expensive and many people were facing foreclosure. They were choosing to buy RVs as places to live. Sounds like current times!
Anyone that is interested in vintage RVs would enjoy this movie I think.

RE: 2010 Winnebago line preview

I just looked at the webpage for the Winnebago Via. I like the 25R floorplan. It has a big slide and a 60x80 queen bed. I wonder if it's 30 or 50 amp? It reminds me of the German RVs that are on YouTube. There should be a forthconing article on the Via in MotorHome magazine according to the editor. I just hope they are truly available without a huge waiting list.

RE: "Disarming" a dog?!

As someone already mentioned, a dog has big time power in jaws. A dog with no teeth will still cause damage when it bites.
Rather than spend big bucks on this 'dental" procedure, this dog should have been euthanized and the money spent on helping dogs that would have made good, trustworthy family pets. There are too many, worthwhile dogs that need a good home. It is not responsible dog ownership to own a dangerous dog.
