RE: I Need to Vent!!!

I have had mostly good results from Winnebago dealers but have not needed them much. Tire inflation is a crazy one. I have had that same fight on several motorhomes. Good luck.

RE: Vin and Serial number versus title

My 2012 winnebago on a 2011 Ford chassis is licensed as a 2011 Ford in WI. I had others that were licensed the reverse. With a motorhome that is 7 or eight years old isn't the key the condition including miles, tires etc and not the year. After a few years the year probably is totally trumped by the condition.

RE: I did the "Cheap Handling Fix"!

F-53. The workhorse is not available on newer model Winnebagos or any other for that matter.

RE: I did the "Cheap Handling Fix"!

Congrats. It made a difference for me. Rear sway bar and steering stabilizer will make it better but cost and koni shocks improve ride. I added Kelderman for near perfection but the other fixes will get you a long way after you set tires to proper inflation.

RE: Vista bathroom sink

We had the 30W and now the 30T. We replaced the sink in 30w with a vessel that sat down in so only modified the counter. One of these days we will replace the countertop and install a vessel that sits on top. Then add a single lever spout and it will look great.

RE: 37f Adventurer & wind

I agree on rear trac bar and the cheap fix of moving the sway bar to the tighter position and also think a steering stabilizer is smart for safety purposes and makes tracking easier. Make sure your tires are inflated consistent with weight. Over inflated is common and can make driving worse. Our motorhomes are sales so some mods can help but not change the fact there is one hell of a lot of resistance. Good luck.

RE: Satellite Internet

Many of the adverts are for satellite tv but the internet is phone line dsl. Hughes is satellite but still limited in amount of data usage. A hotspot or miff is best if you can get coverage and that is most places. Hughs net works for those in remote locations.

RE: Kelderman Air Ride

My chassis is a 2013. We did find out a couple other things unrelated to the attempted Kelderman install including the rear wiring harness riding on the generator exhaust pipe. The biggest thing right now is that the two brackets that stand off the hood at the top were not fastened on and fell down onto the frame allowing the hood to repeatedly contact the lower edge of the windshield. The result is two breaks in that huge windshield and cracks heading up the glass. Only 3800 miles! Seems as if there may be some severe quality control problems at Winnebago. It would appear a trip to Iowa is in the picture with Oskaloosa and Forest City. Good luck.

RE: Kelderman Air Ride

Damn I get tired of this question. Why? Because it is not an option I could buy from the dealer. The same reason people buy Cadillacs instead of Smart Cars, although I do have a Smart Car. The same reason some folks buy AWD instead of two wheel drive. You can drive all them but if you want something special you pay for the options and when options aren't available you go after market. I wanted this motorhome and I wanted gas. If they would have offered an air bag option I would have purchased it. The price was right. I have now exactly what I want that drives and rides great and a lot cheaper than a DP if I could get one at 31 feet which is the max I can handle and still park in my driveways at home and cottage. The original coach was drivable but not as comfortable as it is now. Now does that make sense? I think I have answered this question from you before? You got me.

RE: Kelderman Air Ride

It costs about $6 grand. If you are generally willing to make this expenditure to improve the ride I would assume that installing a tear trac bar and doing the cheap fix would be on your list. I also added a steering stabilizer from road master for safety and handling. For me it was important to improve my handling and ride. I can now survive on the worst roads, drive in the wind with confidence and ride comfortably on normal roads without trouble. It was worth it for me and I had wasted money on other coaches I have owned seeking a solution to ride issues. You can improve by careful monitoring of tire pressure and better shocks but the Kelderman is the best.. Baithouse? Have you obtained any new info on the age of your coach/chassis and the install directly from calling Kelderman.

RE: Kelderman Air Ride

Scott, I think tire pressure is the most important thing and understand I am dealing with a 31 ft coach with less weight than the next size up. The Bilstein shocks are too stiff so the Koni or Monroe would be a great improvement. I do understand the Bilsteins are better when you get to the 34 ft coaches and upward and ride is better. Had I done those two things first I could have lived with it but adding the bags was incredible. Gives me a big coach ride and I wanted comfort not just ok.

RE: Kelderman Air Ride

I think my installer drilled some holes. Call the company and discuss. They will get it straight. My installer is Madison Spring in Madison WI and I think I am the only Kelderman they have installed. Good luck.

RE: Kelderman Air Ride

Mine is on a 2011 chassis. I had no idea the 2013 had changed much if at all. Are you sure yours is 2013 chassis or is it 2013 on 2012 chassis. Mine is 2012 on 2011 chassis. My installers played with it but got it installed. I think my next call and probably trip is to Oksaloosa. Friend had his done in New Mexico and went to the home base and they tweaked things and basically treated him very well and made it wonderful. If there are changes they will figure a work around. Let us know how it comes out.

RE: Driving the Trans Labrador Highway in a Class A

Boy the last time I looked a year ago it appeared to be some time until I would do that with anything other than a truck. Will be interested in the results of your research and trip if you go.

RE: Flooring upgrade...

The key with allure is to roll it good. It will not spread if it is pressed. Mine scuffed easily however.

RE: dinghy towing odometer

Ignition on for the CRV, no mileage recorded. My 04 CRV has 55K towed miles and 55K driven miles. Come on. You must have driven the toad a little.

RE: dingy towing 4 wheels on ground?

Friends have 2008 f-150 with driveshaft disconnect. So far so good. They think it works fine.

RE: Shocks

They seem to be a good improvement on DP's and the Bilsteins seem to be better on the gassers (info from reading posts of DP's and gassers over several years). I put them on my coach and love them. They seem well suited to 8 airbag Monaco's. Bilstein's are horrible on gassers. Way to stiff. Koni's are great.

RE: Motorhome Fuel Mileage

I always suggest my fuel usage has to be cut in half as I tow a car. I recognize that is bad math as the car gets much better mileage but at least it travels a lot of miles at zero fuel expense. I also use my motorhome for work lodging. I' m not sure if there would be many things we currently do that wouldn't be done if we didn't have the benefit of this home on wheels.
