RE: Flying J Ripoff

Hi Seattle Lion, All membership levels save 3¢ on fuel when using the Good Sam Club Swipe & Save membership card. You save more when using the RV Plus Charge Card, which is what I believe you’re referring to since you referenced a pin # (required with the RV Plus Charge Card, and no pin #s necessary with the Swipe & Save membership card). As a Deluxe member, you now save 5¢ on gas and 7¢ on diesel with the RV Plus Charge Card (requires separate application process). To clear up your points: 1. As noted in the RV Travel Guide, the Ellensburg, WA location is a “dealer” location, which means the discount is only available in the truck diesel lanes. Recently, we created a “sticky” thread that stays at the top of the listings—called 2 Ways to Save on Fuel at Pilot Flying J. This thread answers the question as to why the discount is available at “select” locations and explains a “dealer” location. 2. Same thing with both Spokane locations—both are “dealer” locations. 3. The RV Plus Charge Card is not being discontinued. See the question on the Pilot Flying J RV MyRewards card in the Swipe & Save Membership Card FAQs--this may be what the person was referring to when saying a card is being discontinued. I recommend reading the 2 Ways to Save on Fuel at Pilot Flying J thread post as it provides valuable information and links you to the RV Travel Guide and the online FAQs on both the Good Sam Club Swipe & Save membership card and the Pilot Flying J RV Plus Charge Card. Sincerely, Good Sam Club Team

2 Ways to Save on Fuel at Pilot Flying J

Good Sam Club members have 2 ways to save on fuel at select Pilot and Flying J locations: 1. Good Sam Club Swipe & Save Membership Card 2. Pilot Flying J RV Plus Charge Card GOOD SAM CLUB SWIPE & SAVE MEMBERSHIP CARD Savings: - Gas & Diesel (U.S.): save 3¢ per gallon - Gas & Diesel (Canada): save 1¢ per liter - Propane: save 5¢ per gallon - Waste Dump: save $2.50 (off $10 fee) - Special pricing & deals in Pilot and Flying J retail stores & restaurants Your Swipe & Save Good Sam Club membership card provides these savings—it’s ready to use at Pilot Flying J upon receipt. How to Get it: Join the Good Sam Club or renew your membership and the new card will be mailed to you in 2-3 weeks. Life & Elite members can contact Member Services at 1-800-234-3450 to request the new Swipe & Save version of the Life or Elite Good Sam Club membership card. Form of Payment: Use your own form of payment in conjunction with the new Swipe & Save card. Does it work at truck lanes? You will need to come inside, scan your card, and prepay in order to use at the truck lanes. You will NOT need to come inside using the RV or other lanes. PILOT FLYING J RV PLUS CHARGE CARD Savings: Good Sam Club Member - Gas (U.S.): save 4¢ per gallon - Diesel (U.S.): save 6¢ per gallon - Gas & Diesel (Canada): save 1¢ per liter Good Sam DELUXE Member - Gas (U.S.): save 5¢ per gallon - Diesel (U.S.): save 7¢ per gallon - Gas & Diesel (Canada): save 1¢ per liter Good Sam LIFE Member - Gas: save 6¢ per gallon - Diesel: save 8¢ per gallon - Gas & Diesel (Canada): save 2¢ per liter Good Sam ELITE Member - Gas: save 7¢ per gallon - Diesel: save 9¢ per gallon - Gas & Diesel (Canada): save 2¢ per liter For all membership levels: - Propane: save 10¢ per gallon - Waste Dump: save $5 (off $10 fee) - Special pricing & deals in Pilot and Flying J retail stores & restaurants How to Get it: The RV Plus Charge Card is offered by Pilot Flying J to Good Sam Club members only. Application and approval process is required. Apply at GoodSamClub.com/pfj or call 1-855-478-7587. Form of Payment: The required form of payment is the RV Plus Charge Card. Does it work at truck lanes? Yes, the RV Plus Charge Card can be used at the truck diesel lanes. And, when you use the RV Plus Charge Card you will always receive your discount off the cash price! WHY DO WE SAY “SELECT” PILOT AND FLYING J LOCATIONS? We say "select locations" for 2 reasons: 1. The state of Wisconsin does not allow fuel discounts due to state law. 2. Pilot Flying J has "dealer" locations, which are locations they do not own. As such, these locations can choose to "opt out" of the discount programs. Dealer locations are only required to give the discount for diesel at the truck diesel lanes and only for transactions started at the pump. Dealer locations do not offer discounts on gasoline and do not accept the cards in store. All of the approximately 100 dealer locations are denoted in the RV Travel Guide and also on the Pilot Flying J mobile app. The RV Travel Guide will show you exactly where the discount is accepted. You can pick up a printed copy at a Pilot or Flying J location or a Camping World SuperCenter. Read the Swipe & Save Membership Card FAQs and the RV Plus Charge Card FAQs to find answers to questions like: Why am I seeing a “please see cashier” message at the pump? Does the card offer the “start the pump” feature? Why does the pump have different cut off limits based on the card I’m using for payment? How do I pay my RV Plus Charge Card balance?

RE: No I did NOT sign up for your emails

When you sign up for an RV.net user name/log in, the last section just above the “Register” button is called “I Would Like to Receive Email About.” It has a box checked stating “Yes! I want to receive the RV.net newsletter and special offers from RV.net and its affiliates.” 1. “it’s affiliates” includes all related companies, some of which are: all Good Sam organizations, Camping World, Coast to Coast, Good Sam Media & Events (RV Shows), MotorHome and Trailer Life magazine, The Good Sam Rally, The Good Sam RV Travel Guide and Campground Directory. 2. Pre-checking this box is standard for most companies across the board. Companies want to have the opportunity to email you offers, newsletters, etc. It’s up to you whether you leave the box checked or un-check it. If you DON’T un-check the box: You will be opted in to emails from RV.net and all affiliates. You are then able to opt out/unsubscribe from emails from individual businesses. For example, maybe you’d like to receive Camping World Internet Specials, but not emails about RV shows. The individual check boxes allow you to select only the emails you wish to receive. You can unsubscribe by clicking My Forums - My Preferences - then scrolling down to find "Email Preferences." If you unsubscribe from any or all emails, we want to be sure your preferences are saved correctly. This thread alerted us to an issue where the preference selections on RV.net are not being saved—there is an error with the functionality of the submit/save button. Please know that this is not purposeful as we were not aware of the issue. Our IT team is urgently working to have this resolved by tomorrow so your preferences can be saved. If you DO un-check the box: If you un-checked the “Yes! I want to receive the RV.net newsletter and special offers from RV.net and its affiliates” box before registering at RV.net, yet you’re receiving unwanted emails please let us know. Email webmaster@rv.net so we can be sure you’re opted out and resolve any potential issues with the RV.net sign up process. Good Sam Club members: Your email preferences can be updated at RV.net or GoodSamClub.com in the My Account section. As long as you’re using the same email address for both your RV.net and GoodSamClub.com sign in, your preferences will be updated in both places. Note that if you’ve provided us multiple email addresses, or if you’re using a different email address for your RV.net sign in and your GoodSamClub.com sign in, then you’ll need to set your preferences on both sites for each individual email address. Sincerely, Good Sam Club Team

RE: What's in a name.

Hi ScottG, Both cards should have had both your name & your wife's name. Was your wife's name also on the new set of cards? Hi SueMcD, The process is that when there are 2 people on the account, the letter is addressed to the person listed as "primary" on the account. And, both cards will have both names. I've set your account so that your husband is listed as primary. I've re-issued you cards so that you'll receive a set of cards with both names. Sincerely, Good Sam Club Team

RE: Troubling pattern w/Pilot/Flying J

Hi KamperAl, When I read your post it made me also wonder why the pump cut off varies. I reached out to Pilot Flying J and after further discussion, learned this: The credit card companies set limits to the stations as to what they’ll reimburse for any fraud transactions. The stations, in turn, set a pump cut off limit due to these credit card company fraud reimbursement regulations. Individual stations can set their own pump cut off limit based on the amount of loss risk they’re willing to take in relation to the credit card companies fraud reimbursement limit (avg. is $75). For example: if a station sets a $125 limit and customer pumps $125 in gas, if the charge is disputed or determined fraud the credit card company will only reimburse the station up to its maximum preset fraud reimbursement limit (average is $75). The station would then take a $50 loss on the transaction because they opted to set a pump cut off higher than the average credit card company fraud reimbursement limit. This allows the credit card companies to be able to tell their card holders that they aren’t setting a pump cut off limit on your card. True, they aren’t setting a limit to the card holder. They are setting the limit to the station. Then, the stations pass the pump cut off process down to the consumer. Found this article from USA Today on the topic. I've updated our Swipe & Save card online FAQs to reflect this information. And, if you are interested in the RV Plus Charge Card, the pump cut limit doesn't apply,as stated in the RV Plus Charge Card FAQs: Does the RV Plus Charge Card discount apply to any volume of fuel? Yes. Also, there is no “single transaction” limit cut off like with credit cards. The RV Plus Charge Card allows you to fill up as much as you need in a single swipe (up to the amount of credit you have available on your charge card). Sincerely, Good Sam Club Team

RE: What's in a name.

Hi ScottG, To answer your questions: Why is the "Thank You" letter addressed to me but both cards have my wife’s name on them? At times there can be errors in data transmissions as we believe this is the case in your scenario. I’ve placed an order for new cards to be sent so you’ll have a Good Sam Club membership card with your name, sorry for the inconvenience. I’ll be in touch until your cards arrive to ensure you received everything correctly. Why does one card have a sticker asking you to register your membership? We’ve learned that many members are not familiar with all the exciting online members-only benefits available to them at GoodSamClub.com using the “Sign In” feature for members. For example, members who aren’t registered online and signing in to gain access to the members-only content are missing out on hundreds of dollars in Camping World coupons, the online trip planner, registering for the SamAlert RV Recall Notification Service, volunteering to become a Standby Sam and more! The goal of the sticker was to make sure all members are aware of these online members-only benefits that require registering in order to set up your unique log in. Why is the sticker just on 1 of the 2 cards? The online registration is tied to your membership number so you only need to register once. It’s simply a reminder for members to go online to register the membership so you can gain access to the members-only content. Why is the sticker on your card when you’ve been a Club member for years? We learned that there are some members who have been with the Club for multiple years and have yet to register online. We thought it would be a good reminder for everyone. But, since it seems it may be causing more confusion than providing a helpful reminder, once we run out of the existing supply of stickers we won’t place the stickers on the cards any longer. Sincerely, Good Sam Club Team

How to Get the Good Sam Icon

Good Sam Club members are recognized with a Good Sam icon / badge. In order for RV.net to recognize you as a Good Sam Club member or Life member, the email address you used to sign up at RV.net has to be the same email address that you provided for your Good Sam Club membership. Problem Solving Steps: 1. If your email address for RV.net and the email attached to your Good Sam Club membership are the same and you’re still not seeing the Good Sam icon, log out of RV.net and then log back in. If you’re a Life member and your email addresses match, the site will automatically display the Life member icon. 2. If your email addresses are different, update one of the email addresses so that they match. Allow 48 hours for the systems to update. Log out of RV.net and then log back in. 3. If you’ve recently upgraded to Life membership, allow 48 hours for the systems to update. And, make sure your email addresses match as noted in #1. If the solutions above don’t resolve your issue, please email webmaster@rv.net.

RE: Good Sam Swipe & Save Card

Hi lanerd, that question is answered in the online FAQs. We created the FAQs to put the answers to all commonly asked questions in one central location for member's ease of reference. Here's your answer: Does it work at truck diesel lanes? You will need to come inside, scan your Swipe & Save membership card, and prepay in order to use at the truck lanes. You will NOT need to come inside using the RV or other lanes. The 3¢ discount at the truck diesel lanes will be off the cash or credit price depending on how you pay. You'll also find FAQs on the Pilot Flying J RV Plus Charge Card, where you'll see that it can be used at the truck diesel lanes. Sincerely, Good Sam Club Team
