RE: Lets discuss Luxury Coaches in CA. Incident with a salesguy

We have a 40ft. and never have had a problem in CA or anywhere else for that matter. Most State parks here say Max. length is 38ft. but even our friends with a 43 ft. fit perfectly fine. Find the best that suits your fancy and you will be a happy camper :B

RE: Campgrounds in/near Reno?

You won't find any trees, however, the RV Park at the Grand Sierra Resort is our choice when in Reno. Full hookups and access to the pool at the Casino etc. We tend to go during Street Vibrations and Hot August Nights Celebrations and reservations are made a year in advance so be sure to check availability in Aug. or Sept. Gold Ranch in Verdi is nice as well but out of town and you still will not have any trees. "Campground by the Lake" in Lake Tahoe is our all time Favorite campground with trees and lots of space. Reservations are also recommended if you want any type of hook-ups.

RE: Blown tire bad GS-RA experience

Tried to use GS for a tire issue yesterday.. received a call back 3 hrs later. Made it to a campground but can only imagine if we were stuck along the highway. Not a happy camper with the GS roadside and this was the first time we tried. Good thing is we also have Progressive.

RE: My tire blowout experience with GS-RA

We called GS yesterday for a flat/low tire and did not receive a call back for over 3hrs. Unfortunately it was now late evening and we missed the call. Thankfully we are safe and in a campground now and it is not urgent. Guess we will try to call again soon :R

RE: Class A Insurance - Options

Have been with Progressive for 15yrs. (2 RV's) One claim and no significant increases. Just checked last week and can't find a cheaper rate.

RE: Water pump runs

Thanks everyone for your input. Sounds like it may be a check valve or as the previous poster said the pressure has built up and is leaking back through the pump When on city water it tends to slowly dribble into the fresh water tank at times as well. Just put that on the "To Do List" for Hubby. Now to find out where the valve is :W

Water pump runs

Noticed on our last trip out (dry camping) that the water pump runs occasionally when there is no water turned on. All faucets are closed tightly and there are no visible leaks. Ended up just shutting if off so I couldn't hear it a night etc. Any idea what may be going on ? Thanks, Kathie

RE: Organ Pipe National Monument

We spent a few days there in Jan. 2014. The park was pretty much empty and very nice. Had a great time taking the 21 mile loop trip as well. Nothing much to do but it is beautiful.

RE: What did you do to your Class A MH today???

Not today but a couple weeks ago we stopped in Junction City OR and left our flex-steel couch and bought 2 new Euro Chairs. They are awesome as we did not need 2 full couches. Yesterday we re-strung 2 day/night shades (piece of cake). Been on the road for about 3 weeks and heading down the OR coast back home for a spell. Life is good :B

RE: Do you pull a trailer behind your Motorhome?

We pull a trailer behind when we take the Harleys with no problem. We do make sure we have a big enough pull thru that we do not have to drop the trailer etc. upon arrival.

RE: Reno Area RV Parks?

We stay at the Grand Sierra in Reno every year for Street Vibrations. As Far as Tahoe goes "Campground by the Lake" is by far our favorite campground in CA. We spend atleast a few weeks there every year. Be sure to check for availability as they are very busy during the summer.

RE: Vanity sink drains into black tank

We sold " HIS" year Mandalay and I have been in the business for 40 years. I have NEVER seen an "Option" to reroute gray plumbing to the black tank. This may be true of some oddball brand motorhomes, but it is NOT an Industry common practice or option. The problem is, some so called experts(Salesman and such) when questioned WHY the sink is routed to the black tank, spout off some nonsense about options or making sure more water gets to the Black tank. Because they are afraid the customer might be upset with the truth. Doug No need to get into a pissing match but it is what it is and I'm happy with it. This is not some oddball brand nor are we idiots that just believe what some salesman or "Manual Says". Thanks to all others for your input. This is a great feature since we boondock a lot and have 120 gal. of fresh water. Grey tank fills up much quicker. Happy Camping to all :) P.S. Doug....His is a Her ;)

Vanity sink drains into black tank

Curious here, Just realized that one of our vanity/bathroom sinks drain into the black tank. Pulled out the Manual and it appears to have been an option. Not a problem now that I know when dry camping not to dump too much sink water down the toilet :S Has anyone ever heard of this ??
