RE: Power loss

My gas detector sounds an alarm as the battery gets low.....sounds as if detector is working, batteries failing to charge for what ever reason. Check converter, power source, etc.

RE: Clarify to prevent freezing

Are you talking about Atlanta, Georgia ? If so, absolutely no reason to consider skirting. Highs in the 50's, lowest is 25 tonight, not freezing the rest of the week.....when it does freeze it's probably for a short period before the morning. A lot colder than that here in New Mexico, we have insulated our outside water hose, that's it, we leave the furnace set at 57 for the night, it's been down into the lower teens several nights, 20's all next week. No problems.

RE: where to go not needing to run furnace?

Alamogordo, NM. Dec. Jan. & Feb. I burn a 30lb bottle a week, approx $20.00. Lot rent $225 a month including cable, sewer, water and fairly good wi-fi. Electric is seperate, runs from $65 to $100 a month, depending on a/c usage or extra electric heater usage,35ft 5th wheel, 3 slides. Not a resort but a very comfortable place to spend the winter, Fall, early winter and spring...beautiful. Bright sunny days nearly every day, mid winter months the nights may get down to freezing, by 9:30am the bright sun is warming things up....sweater or light jacket weather.

RE: Adding bleach to water system

The original question was if any one had a better system of adding bleach to the water system other than filling the hose and reconnecting it. (for units like mine that have no gravity fill for the fresh water tank). I would like to purify the tanks and lines. It appears there may not be a better way, the filling the hose method is kind of a pain...thought maybe someone had come up with a siphon device. Thanks to those who answered on topic....

Adding bleach to water system

My 5th wheel does not have a gravity fill for the fresh water holding tank. It fills through the city water hose hook up, opening a valve directs the water into the fresh water tank, close the valve when it's full. How do others with this setup get bleach into the fresh water tank for purifying the tank and system ? I have filled the hose with bleach and reconnected it and pushed the bleach into the tank that way but there must be a better system. Is there any kind of siphon adaptor available ? If not someone should manufacture one, there seems to be a need.

RE: Walmart Parking Overnight, which ones?

Down load the free WalMart file from the POI Factory to your GPS. It seems there is always a WalMart on route just ahead. The GPS file lists the phone number, wife calls ahead, gets permission and directions as to where they want us parked, works great.

RE: torque wrench

WalMart carries a TW in thier RV section, $25.00, high quality? No....more than adequate for wheel lug torque....Yes..unless you use it daily for other purposes its all you need.

RE: Comments On Jayco Brand

We looked at Jaycos at 4 different dealerships and at the State Fair. I keep hearing these stories of Jayco quality.I sure couldn't find it. Poor workmanship throughout.Loose trim/mouldings, doors misaligned, drawer hardware out of alignment, basement/storage area doors stick...too many things to list..and we truly wanted a Jayco, we liked the Eagle layout and it fit our budget, and of course we dreamed of the Designer... Jaycos have a lot of loyal owners but I sure couldn't see it. Don't buy without looking close.

RE: Computer/Wifi Help?

Look into a router with DD-WRT firmware installed. I got one off E-Bay for $60.00. Or if you have a router the firm ware for DD-WRT is free on the internet however I've never had the nerve to try the install. It picks up signals in the area and allows you to re-broadcast them, you can require a pass word thereby controlling who has access. Works great for me......
