RE: Electrical Shock from Coach

On my Toyhauler, I was crawling underneath to check the spare tire and I received a little tingle when I came into contact with some metal cross bracing, and after doing some checks I found the 50 amp connector to the trailer had not been twisted into place to lock it in. I gave it a twist and all was well.

RE: Impact wrenches

If you go the floor jack route, a boondocking neighbor I camped by once, had a floorjack that was aluminum and that thing was real light. Check some of the race car sites to find one.

RE: Impact wrenches

I use a Milwaukee Impact Wrench, it is light weight and has the suds to get the job done.
Could I use a breaker bar and socket- sure, but when it's hot, hot, hot, out, it's great to get the job done quick.

Firefox Tip

Here's a Firefox Tip I just learned yesterday:
Have you ever had multiple tabs open and closed the wrong one?
If you have and want to get it back quickly- just hit Ctrl-Shift-T and it will reappear.
Anyone else have any Firefox Tips?

Water filters - bestest & cheapest
From what I have found, the "bestest" will not be the cheapest and the cheapest will not be the "bestest", so my question which do you want- the "bestest" or the cheapest?:h

RE: Gas/service station with ample in and out space????

Most gas stations are filled by semis. I did that for 17 years. I haven't found one yet I couldn't get in with my 5er. Its much smaller than any of my semis were, and will turn much tighter.
When I go to a station to fill, I need to get to the pumps with my pickup and 5th wheel, not the area the fuel tanker dumps the fuel into the UG tanks.
Just wondering what the above poster was thinking?

You might get a better answer by going to one of the Chevy Diesel Forums that just deal with these trucks.

RE: Yet Another LED thread: porch light 1003 & bugs version

Not sure why you would spend $33 for one LED when you could buy two of these for $8.
I tried the $8 led bulbs and they lasted about a year, then I got smart and ordered the Starlights bulbs and they have been going strong for 2+ years.
Just remember the old saying-- you get what you pay for. no more El Cheapo bulbs for me.

RE: Breaker keeps triping

I'm set up on a lot have 30 amp breaker in box and it trips one or two times a week what can I do to stop this
Can you tell what you are powering in your rig? When is the breaker exactly opening-using the microwave? hotwater heater?
I have one of the Progressive Industries EMS units and with the remote display I can tell how many AC Amps I am using:
Microwave 15 Amps
Coffee Pot 8 Amps
Water Htr 12 Amps
Space Htr 13 Amps
It all adds up and until you know how much power you are using, trouble shooting will be a bit tough.

RE: Rattlesnake Crockpot Stew

But, ever since I heard that story, I always wanted to try rattle snake.... no folks .. I don't "pack heat" with me!
Dutchy, you don't need "heat", just pin the snakes head down with a stick, take your fingers and grip the snakes head up real close and place the snake on a board or tree and cut the head off about 3" back behind your hand.
killing a rattler--yes eating a ratter---no way. And bury head is a very good idea.
DW just told me it would take a six pack of margaritas to get her to eat that and another six pack to get the taste out of her mouth, LOL
It is a good thing you two don't have a clue where hotdogs, sausage, or hamburger come from- you'd both starve to death.
You see a cutoff biting snakehead here or here.

Rattlesnake Crockpot Stew

Now that the Rattlers are out and about here in the Desert , I just made up a batch of Rattlesnake Stew and thought I would share the recipe.
As always after cutting off the head of the snake, it is best to bury the head as it can still bite you for up to an hour and sometimes longer after being removed.
Ingredients
1 onion chopped
1 cup of chopped celery
4 medium potatoes diced
1 tablespoon of minced garlic
1 cup of chopped carrots
1 15 ounce can of diced tomatoes
salt and pepper to taste
1 14 ounce can of beef broth
2 tablespoons of cornstarch
Pinch of sugar
ΒΌ cup of lemon juice
2 pounds of rattlesnake meat
How to make it
Salt and pepper the rattlesnake meat to taste and cook in water and lemon juice for 1 hour.
Remove and separate the meat from the bones.
Mix the meat with the rest of the ingredients well in a bowl and then add to the crockpot.
Cook on low for 8 hours
