RE: CAMPGROUNDS NEAR D.C.

We'll be there in about 13 hours. Great place to use as a home base to see DC. We come in the back way and avoid the Beltway completely.

RE: Slow Shower Drain.

I tried Zipit, vinegar and baking soda and finally a Shopvac. Shopvac pulled out a large hair glob. We leave tomorrow for DC will put it to the test this weekend. Happy Camping Dick

RE: Which campgrounds in Myrtle Beach do you recommend ?

Just got back from MBTP. Another good trip. Four sites from the beach, near the activity pavilion. Heard some noise from kids playing Basketball, but in no way were they out of control. Sitting out at night mostly just heard the sound of AC's running. WE used to camp at Barefoot RV park but it is now gone. Friends were at Pirateland in June, they said never again.I don't think you can not have agood time in MB.

Slow Shower Drain.

Does anyone have any suggestions about how to solve slow shower drain issues? Getting to the drain trap would be hard so looking for info about chemical drain cleaners. Thanks, Dick

RE: Empty sites at Myrtle Beach Travel Park

Thanks for the info. We are really looking forward to coming down. As to empty sites there are some CG's in our area that aren't doing as well as in the past. I'm sure it's the economy in large part, but for some it's also poor management and customer service. We were a bit amazed coming home on 7-5 from Lancaster with the lack of traffic on the roads. I'm quite thankful we are still able to get out, even though we don't get out as much. Happy Camping

RE: Empty sites at Myrtle Beach Travel Park

So how's the beach. I started a thread about beach erosion there and wanted to know how things are. We'll be down on Aug 1. Happy Camping.

RE: Campground in vicinity of Green Dragon Flea market

We are staying at Country Haven and drove over to Green Dragon this afternoon. I guess flea markets are not our thing, as it took us about 15 minutes to get out of that place LOL

RE: Headed to Cherry Hill this saturday

I agree...Monuments at Night tour, done through Cherry Hill (for convenience sake) is great! Also, the preferred sites at Cherry Hill are worth the extra bucks.

RE: CG choices in Gettysberg & Lancaster, PA

We are currently camping at Country Haven in Lancaster for the holiday weekend. If you are looking for a clean, quiet, relaxing campground, you'll find it here! Prior to our stay here, we read many negative reviews, such as low water pressure, reduced electric service and poor internet.... THIS IS NOT THE CASE (electric service is great, internet is faster than home and plenty of water pressure for our liking)...this is a great place to camp! We are in a preferred site overlooking five miles of Lancaster County....absolutely beautiful. Yes, there are rules, but if you prefer camping around respectful campers, this is the place. Everyone is very friendly and relaxed. We will definitely return again.

RE: Myrtle Beach Travel Park

I95 South to North Carolina Exit 14 at Lumberton, to Route 74, to Route 410 towards Chadbourne, to Route 701 towards Tabor City, to Route 9, to Route 31 to Kings Road. You will merge on to Kings Road at the Vanity Fair Outlets and across from Wal-mart just a stones throw from Myrtle Beach Travel Park. This avoids having to travel on Route 17 and saves lots of time. Have a great trip!

Myrtle Beach Travel Park

A little while back a tread was up about the beach being eroded at MBTP. Has anyone been there lately and what is the condition of the beach. We are due in on 1 August and are getting the itch to be there.

RE: Newark

Our trip went well. Traffic was not bad and my son's flight was pretty much on time. It helped to go for the first time on a non peak time. I can see though it could be a bear when buzy.

Country Haven CG Lancaster PA.

Does anyone have any experience with this CG? How are the wooded sites in respect to size and ease of getting into? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

RE: It's Gone!!!

This is a topic I have spent some time thinking about lately. I would probably get rid of our TT if I could get what it's worth, but my DW won't hear of it. I work for an organization that is trying all kinds of different things to save money. I can see in the future having to work all Saturday's pretty much eliminating weekend camping trips. But what price do you have to pay to have a job? I feel so for those who have lost their RV's,jobs and Business'. We have tried in the past few years to get our finances in good shape, but I sometimes feel like we'll be caught up in the excesses of our country on the whole. Camping is something we really enjoy, and we have met alot of good people along the way, I hope it doesn't have to end.

RE: Ohio to Washington DC

What campground are you staying at in DC? Depending where you are staying you most likely will have to get on the Beltway. This can be a very exciting experience. If you are going to Cherry Hill you can avoid the beltway by coming in I-70 to RT32 to rt29 to Cherry Hill RD. If you time it right it is so much calmer thst way. If you are staying somewhere else I'm sorry I can't help you. DC can be alot of fun just be prepared to walk alot, there is so much to see and do.
