RE: How much weight to tow with TC

Good info...older now towing at the speed limit... no rush... I was most concerned about the 3:55 rear as opposed to the stock 4:10 Dave

RE: MicroAir hard start system and a Honda eu2200is?

Understood... the generator I have now in my AF 1150 (it does not have an outlet it is wired into the TC) is giving me alot of trouble and I do have a Honda 2000 to replace it and I hope it will power the AC I have...what do you think?? Dave

How much weight to tow with TC

I have a 1999 Ram dually Cummins diesel(5.9), Quad Cab with a 3.55 rear end...My question is if anyone with this set up, how much weight do pull with a boat or trailer?

RE: MicroAir hard start system and a Honda eu2200is?

I have it installed in a Coleman Mach 8 15,000 BTU AC and ran it with my old Honda 2000 and am currently running it with my NEW Honda 2200. I would recommend that you figure out a way to turn off the charging part of you campers charger/converter as you do not want the additional draw of the battery charger. I ran the AC yesterday off of the Honda 2200 with a AmWatt Appliance Load Tester attached. The outside temp was 98ยบ and I was pulling exactly 15 amps with the fan on high. I was able to run the generator in ECO mode as well. I remind you that was running a 15K AC unit, an air conditioner with lesser BTU's will draw less. One additional benefit of the Easy Start this that is ramps up the fan/compressor so there is no loud bang of the compressor starting in the middle of the night anymore.....really nice. How do you check the AC unit....I do not have an exposed plug to put to the meter it is hardwired somewhere ?

RE: Fantastic fan KAPUT need some info

The picture of the FF is a newer one (mine is in a 2005 AF 1150)mine has the on/off knob with the speed control in one corner next to the rocker switch for intake or exhaust and the vent knob diagonally on the other side... no other controls. Completely baffled ready to give up and find a shop ....that can fix it...not much confidrnce in that outcome!!! Dave Tank you all for your help

RE: Fantastic fan KAPUT need some info

The switch is not in an off position.... that would have been easy..... all the way to one side or the other...still nothing....I guess if I can figure out how to do it is to make sure there is power going to the fan

RE: Fantastic fan KAPUT need some info

The chase I refer to is in the roof where the wires come out to power the fan. The fan is multi speed and reversable, you turn a black knob to turn on and control speed and next to it is a rocker switch exhaust and take in air... I do not see any fuse on this fan area....I have no idea how to send a picture on this forum (not that savvy) I could send a photo by email to you if you want to PM your email..but I may be asking to much? Looked at the fuse box and none were labeled for the fan. Dave

RE: Fantastic fan KAPUT need some info

I turned the power switch to the TC on and off and the lights work so that is not it...cannot locate fuse for the fan.....this is frustrating...hehehe

RE: Fantastic fan KAPUT need some info

Well I took off the handle and screen... there are the 2 yellow wires coming from the chase in the roof they are hooked to the white and green fan wires and the are 2 black wires from the chase in the roof connected to the fan black wire... no fuse can be found along either set of wires. There is a nut holding the fan blade on....if I remove it I assume the fan blades will come off but what about the motor... cannot see any screws holding the whole unit in place....Do I go in from the top ??? Is there any where else in the TC that the fuse maybe hiding? Dave

Fantastic fan KAPUT need some info

Went out to cleanup AF 1150 TC today and the fantastic fan not working. It seems like a simple fix which usually turns out to be a nightmare. Any one out there that can walk me thru it or give some tips would be appreciated. A few simple question first.. do you need access to the outside roof (have maxi cover on it now) or can it be done just from the interior? Cannot find the fuse for it any where (any hints where it might be?) Any ideas for the best place to get one? Wiring simple ? Dave

RE: onan repair bill question

Outdoor addict ... you are half way there and had to take a brake to add to thread... that is why this is installed wrong and not thought out.... no one wants to or has the time to spend hours and knuckles removing the gen for service work. Good luck .. I respect your tenacity....Dave

RE: onan repair bill question

Too late for our rigs but the TC manufacturers should design an expenxive item like a generater to! be easier to remove for service

RE: onan repair bill question

My 2500 would not start and the Onan repair service (2 of them) could not even diagnose correctly a simple problem... there service is very poor always check the simple problems first fuel delivery air filter and plig..... the pros are to good for that Dave

RE: Has anyone launched a small boat at Lake Powell

Travels with Yoly was a great view of the lake...great job. Question... Do you just move from site to site or do you have to have reservations? Do many of the sites have launching facilities? Dave
