RE: 5th wheel to toy hauler

Toy hauler for life! I've had bumper pulls and regular 5th wheels but nothing beats a toy hauler.

RE: Why so few A/C vents in Toy Haulers?

I wouldn't buy a toy hauler without two A/C's. We have one just for the bedroom. When you live in Texas this is not an option. On weekends we don't take the toys and just camp that second AC comes in handy because I like to "work hard nap hard". LOL
Stay FROSTY!

RE: New Tires for my Raptor MP300

I've never had a camper before so forgive my ignorance.
When you replace the tires as the OP did here, do you take the wheels off the trailer and take them to the tire shop?
I pulled my 36 foot 5th wheel camper right in to Discount Tire. I called them about 10 mins before arrival to let them know I was coming and see where they wanted me. It worked out good. I buy all my tires from Discount Tire because they have always treated me good. Especially on warranty situations.

RE: New Tires for my Raptor MP300

RE: New Tires for my Raptor MP300

I also had these on my last Raptor Toy Hauler and put around 10,000 miles on them with no blowouts. I replaced the factory Carlisle tires that came on the unit. Those were junk!

RE: New Tires for my Raptor MP300

I have the Maxxis on my Raptor 299, which is also a dual axle like your 300. It has been three years, being loaded to the max capacity and they are still in great shape, no cracking or any separation.
Good luck
Thank you. That is good to know. Discount Tire here in McKinney, TX has four of them for a pretty good price. Will probably get them in the next day or so.

RE: New Tires for my Raptor MP300

I believe the Michelin Ribs are rated at 3,000 lbs. and I'm assuming the "China bombs" are ST which are rated at 3,500 lbs. So whether you can safely use the Michelins kind of depends on how much weight you're carrying.
Good point. I just saw that weight difference per axle. I'm probably going to go with the Maxxis since I have had them before and had a good experience. Thousands of miles with no blowouts.

New Tires for my Raptor MP300

I'm replacing the China Bombs on my new 2012 Raptor 300MP and would like a little advice. The size is 235/80R16. Thinking about putting the Maxxis (same size) on there, but I keep reading how good the Michelin Ribs are. Problem is they are not the same size. Has anyone put these on their camper? Should I get the Maxxis or the Michelin Ribs? I know the Ribs are a bit more, but if they will keep from blowing out I don't mind paying more. I had a blowout Saturday that ripped my skirt off (the skirt on my camper, not my skirt...LOL!!). Thoughts?

RE: Busted water pipe in my Raptor 300MP

It was not a busted water pipe. We got some cold weather and apparantly I didn't blow all the water out of the lines and there was water in the actual shower faucet and it froze and damaged it. New one installed and works like a champ. When I see those cool temps coming from now on I will be blowing the water pipes out at 30PSI. Better safe than sorry!

RE: Busted water pipe in my Raptor 300MP

Sounds like you should have been ok. Can you see the break? Is it easily reachable? It might just be quicker to fix it yourself.
I just spoke with a friend who knows his way around a camper fairly well and we are going to look at it this weekend before taking it in. He thinks it may just be loose behind the shower knobs, but that may be wishful thinking. I will report back. Happy New Year!

RE: Busted water pipe in my Raptor 300MP

Never hurts to ask, that's for sure. While in storage have the temps dropped below freezing?
A couple of nights, but I had winterized by the air compression style and should have not had water in the pipes. I think I used around 30psi.

RE: Busted water pipe in my Raptor 300MP

Was this your 1st trip? Depends, was it freezing where you are at? I suppose its possible it was a faulty pipe or too much pressure, but going to hard to prove that. This time of year frozen pipes are going to be the common story.
This is my 5th or 6th trip in it. It was around 27 degrees the first night, but I had the heat on, etc.

Busted water pipe in my Raptor 300MP

Probably not covered under warranty? Went on a trip last weekend and all the sinks and toilet are fine, but turned on the shower and no pressure and the dreaded water flow into the living room area. I turned it off quickly so maybe a gallon worth of water came out and ran down into the living area. I'm guessing I will take it back to the dealer where I purchased it.
