RE: HEY we need a sticky for our TT pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are a couple of photos from our last trip of the season in our 2010 Passport. :( We stayed at Red Rock Ponds in Western New York again. It is a very nice, new "RV only" park (no tents).
The leaves were changing nicely even if many had blown off of the trees. This year has been tricky as some turned early, and other as normal due to the strange weather we have been getting.

RE: How do I post a PDF file so everyone can read it?

BTW, Leisure Time sounds like a fine establishment that cares about their customers and does good work. It is always good to get recommendations like yours so that if something happens we all now know that we can count on them to do good work. Thanks for your recommendation.
Wait... what?

RE: How do I post a PDF file so everyone can read it?

Dawg, here is a PDF of a water pump controller by Intellitec. Nothing special about the PDF content, just using it as an example.

He has a hand written letter. Not sure if you could read it unless it were full screen.

RE: How do I post a PDF file so everyone can read it?

Yes it is working. You will have to deal with one pop up ad, but it downloaded the file just fine.
I would however suggest that you remove your personal information from the letter.
So did they do the work they said they did?

RE: "R" Endorsement in New York

I think you really do need to double check that info, perhaps directly with Albany, instead of depending on a local clerk's interpretation. When NYS dropped the "Class C" license designation in 2005, they had this to say about the 'R' endorsement:
Just to be clear, they did away with the non-CDL C license, not the Class C CDL.
If they did, no one told me and I have a NYS Class C CDL. :E
It appears that people at the DMV, people responsible for enforcing the law, as well as people who should be intimately knowledgeable with the law have no idea what the law actually is.
As I have always said, ask 10 police officers to interpret the same question, and you'll get 10 different answers.

RE: "R" Endorsement in New York

OK, here is your quoted snippet...
You may apply for an "R" endorsement for your Class D or Class E driver license to allow you to operate a recreational vehicle (RV) with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of over 26,001 lbs. (11,794 kg) or more.
Read it like this...
"apply for an "R" endorsement to operate a recreational vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of over 26,001 lbs. or more."
Also, the exemption read... " Personal vehicles including rental vehicles up to 26,000 lbs GVWR when operated strictly and
exclusively to transport personal possessions or family members for non-commercial purposes."
I would take that as if your RV is heavier than 26,001 lbs., you need a R endorsement on your non-cdl license.

RE: GUESS WHO DOES NOT HAVE THE GOOD SAM TAG

No big deal. Your e-mail address on the forum has to be the same as what you registered your GS membership or the GS logo will not show. I like many others use a different e-mail addy for different things.

RE: Tyre Gards and Snow

I am in the same climate as you. I keep my tires covered whenever it is parked, including winter storage. Tires degrade over time from UV light, and even exposure to the air, even new ones sitting on the self. I figure anything you can do to help them hold up for the life of the tire. While they may have snow covering them some of the time, most of the time they will be in the open with no snow on them. Cover them up.

RE: iPods

Nope, Mac OS isn't free, nor are the computers that run it. Free doesn't = better.
I understand when you own a PeeCee, you are basically stuck with either Windows or Linux.
Also, you do not have to "activate" or use "keys", with Mac OS, you buy it, install it, and use it. Clean, easy & simple.

RE: Digital Camera Recommendation

Rechargeable AA's are not a bad solution. I have tried them but they don't last nearly as long as a proprietary lithium ion battery does for me. My old Casio camera battery would last for longer than 500 photos without a recharge. Again, I take a lot of pics and I have NEVER had to buy a new battery, and I do travel around the globe with it with no fears of needing a spare. Besides, AA's take up a lot of space and weight when you need to have so many around. Besides, if you use rechargeable, you have to lug a charger around too. My battery is about the size of a book of matches, my charger is smaller than a pack of cigarettes & fits right in my bag no problem. For me, I would never go back to AA's. besides, they level of camera I like to use does not normally use AA's. Usually entry level cameras use them.
As far as the OP, it really depends on what features you want. Make a list, then go out and see what fills your needs and go from there.

RE: iPods

@ REDWAKE - iTunes is the easiest way to use an iPod or iPhone. In fact, with an iPhone, I am not sure there is any other way. Pod Cast are easy to use & get on the iPod/iPhone. If you like linux, try Mac OS, you will be pleasantly surprised. It is Unix based.
@ BUMPY - check the settings or preferences. You should be able to burn a CD then take that CD and make duplicates. I like Roxio Toast for that task.

I have been requested to down load (pay$) some tunes for a friend of my grandson. I downloaded the Itunes program. established an account$$$. but it seems to me that the program is more of a song management program than a download songs program. Is there an ITunes for dummies book out there?

RE: Digital Camera Recommendation

A lot of people are recommending a camera that takes AA batteries. I would advise against this unless you own stock in a battery company. They eat them really fast. You will need to carry around a box of spares. Cameras that batteries use a Lithium battery are far superior to alkaline. I charge my battery ever so often and never run it so low I can't take pics. I use an 8 gig card so I can get about 4000 pics on it. I also carry the super slim charger in my camera bag, just in case. If you really took A LOT of pics, maybe a spare battery is an option. A spare battery is cheaper than buying a box load of AA's. I have used cameras with rechargeable batteries for many years now and never had to replace a battery due to failure.

RE: iPods

I have used Media Monkey. I used it exclusively with iPods but it doesn't work very well with iPhones (yet).
iTunes does ok for moving music to iPods but it is very unfriendly toward burning CD's. If you use the default ripping format (AAC), iTunes won't convert it on the fly to MP3 if you want to make a MP# CD for your car player. Media Monkey will convert any format to any format on the fly when you want to burn a CD and it uses folder/sub folder to display CD's, lists by artist and album simultaneousy, etc.
Its free for the stripped version. I bought the lifetime with lifetime updates, faster burns and rips.
Not sure about the PC version, but the Mac version of iTunes will make you an MP3 disc by clicking the button. Super simple.

RE: Digital Camera Recommendation

It really depends on what you want to do with it. I bought a Sony DHC-H50 Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H50 not quite a year ago. I absolutely love it! It has a movable rear view screen, or you can use the view finder. It has many options including non automatic settings which I really wanted. I found your typical point & shoot to restrictive. It looks like an SLR, but it is not. It is more affordable than an SLR, but more than a point and shoot.
Below are a couple of recent photos...

RE: Black streaks

Cleaning the roof several times a year will stop most of them.
Our new TT had them within 2 weeks. It was clean when I purchased because I personally looked at it in the dealers shop. I doubt cleaning it a couple times a year will alleviate them.
I use Simple Green, then wax it good for easy removal of the streaks next time.
Maybe it is my location vs yours. I suppose my folks in Phoenix wouldn't get them at all... almost no rain. :)
