RE: Wanted to tell everyone goodbye

The experience there was OK, not 100% done. Have to drop off the TT when I pick up the boat on Thur or Fri. Had to play the numbers game a bit, but all and all it was fine. Will take some pics this weekend. Hopefully they will get you 100% done on the first try :)

RE: Wanted to tell everyone goodbye

BoatnRv in Rockwood, about 40 minutes west of "Knoxvegas". Its been babied its whole life. Congrats on the new vessel :) I suggest any chance you get, get up to Norris, MUCH nicer than Fort Loudoun. Also, can I ask what kind of experience you had at Boat N RV? I only ask as that is where we purchased our 5th wheel from last year (traded in boat and TT) and was wondering what you thought of them. You should post pics of the new boat, even though its not an RV I'd still like to see pics of it :)

RE: Adding water after dumping black tank

I have an empty 1 gallon milk bottle that I originally used to put 2 gallons in the tanks. Now I have a 5 gallon bucket that I use to keep a little more water in the tanks. I'm not sure there is a right or wrong amount as much as a personal preference thing.

RE: Smokers - Electric or Charcoal?

We have a masterbuilt 30" electric smoker and love it. It fits nicely in front of the hitch in the bed and has made several trips when we have larger crowds. It is nice and easy to throw a pork butt on and feed everyone easily.

RE: Just towed my TT with new diesel

Holy hell......I can't stop the grinning. First time I have pulled our 7500lb TT with our 2012 Ram CC 4x4 with the 6.7L engine. Up grades of as much as 8% and I was able to effortlessly hold 60-65mph..... Welcome to the diesel tow club :) It took me a week or two for the grin to go away the first time I towed with my diesel. Funny thing is, it comes back about every time I hook up and go!

RE: I got locked in for a while, what if it was a real lock in.

I only problem I see is why the tech closed the handle over the door instead of back like they usually are. He knew someone was inside. Mine will only close across the door, it won't go the other way due to one of the awning arms.

They say there is one in every crowd, apparently she felt the need to display it for everyone to see.

RE: Picture From Last Saturday Night....

I have made friends several times by having the evening college football game on the side of the camper. There has even been times when my neighbor in the campground came over and enjoyed themselves... *gasp*

RE: Help with repairing crack around window

Thanks for all the info folks. I think I'm going to take this long holiday weekend to pull the rear window and see if there is anything else I need to know about this before I try to fix it. I'd hate to go through the process of fixing it and find out later that water has got in somehow and caused problems.

RE: Trailer Wheel Ratings?

My old ones had a weight rating stamped on the inside of the wheel, on the back of one of the spokes. With the weight rating you can gather the PSI it will withstand.

RE: Help with repairing crack around window

I don't think just a reseal will work as it is actually a little dent like something has hit it. You can see in the second picture between the quarter and the far left crack it is actually about a 1/16th inch gap between the window frame and gel-coat. I'm trying to avoid taking it to a dealer at all costs :)

Help with repairing crack around window

While cleaning the camper I noticed what appeared to be a crack in my gel-coat around the top of the rear window. I couldn't get a good look at it so after dragging the ladder over and checking it out, it appears it's maybe a little worse than a crack. Could I get some advice\suggestions for what I should do with this? My initial thought is to fill it with something to seal it, just not sure what. Any ideas are appreciated. http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii130/gboffroad/Camping/Problems/DSC00189Small_zps465bb711.jpg http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii130/gboffroad/Camping/Problems/DSC00188Small_zps6f98df00.jpg http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii130/gboffroad/Camping/Problems/DSC00187Small_zpsfb9d7611.jpg

RE: Scooters

We use these: http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii130/gboffroad/Camping/scooter_zps0a7055ce.jpg They are e-zip brand and that particular one is a 750 watt scooter. You can find them fairly cheap ($100 - $200) On Craigslist. New I think they are $299 at Academy Sports. You can also find the same thing made by Scwinn, I just can't remember what they called them. I have one of those as well in a 350 watt that does just fine. These actually ride in the 5er with no issues. Obviously you aren't going to hop on it and run into town for something. But you can't beat them at the campground to get around on.

RE: Picking up new Cougar 333MKS 5th wheel tomorrow

I went from a 27' TT to a 34' 5er and it was different for sure :) Nothing a little time behind the wheel wont resolve.

RE: Tracking towing distance (tow haul turned on)

I would not take any of the data from tow haul button and use it for anything important. I'd say there are some (like me) who will use it when not towing for different reasons and that could throw the actual data off if you are trying to find how many hours a TV has been used for towing.

RE: Forum Speed?

I've notice slow to load pages a couple days now, sometimes getting data timeouts from the server. I always forget to change portals to see if that resolves the issus...
