RE: Leveling jacks for slide?

Our TT is I think 36 feet including tongue. So I need the stabilizers like the ones that are on the TT? If so, that will be much easier than finding the x-chocks to fit our unit.

RE: Leveling jacks for slide?

NO,NO, and DEFINITELY NO!!!!! stabilizers under the slides are a big NONO. if the trailer sags a bit you could do irreparable damage to the slide out. Level and stabilize the trailer, then fully extend the slide out. Thank you, will do this! Now, do you know what kind of scissor jacks that will extend alot?

Leveling jacks for slide?

Our new camper still needs scissor jacks for the tires (can't find any to fit), but I've also notice the slides bounce around when both of us are sitting in it. He on the couch, me on the dinette. Are there jacks for the slides, are they a good idea? I guess I should add, we are on a permanent site. Only time slides are in is in the winter and when we are not going to be there for long periods of time.

RE: HEY we need a sticky for our TT pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We brought her home today, now getting her loaded and organized and hopefully next weekend we're heading for the hills :B http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww260/tmpaes/Personal/photo1_zps264eeeae.jpg http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww260/tmpaes/Personal/photo4_zps480b2487.jpg http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww260/tmpaes/Personal/photo3_zps5f505642.jpg Very nice!

RE: New TT, CO2 detector keeps going off?

If the alarm is going off, DO NOT take a chance as CO is undetectable by smell and deadly. My first stop would be at Home Depot to get a decent detector with a readout. That way you can see what the levels are. Kidde makes a nice one. Stay safe. Yep, will be done today.

RE: New TT, CO2 detector keeps going off?

The heat exchanger of the furnace is heavily coated with vegetable oil on both sides during assembly to stave off corrosion. It can take a fair amount of time to burn all this off and it maybe whats causing the alarm. I would open the windows and set the stat to a high temp and let it run 30~ 60 minutes. The dealer should have done this prior to delivery. Exactly my suggestion. As far as the condensation, open a vent farther and run the furnace. Numerous people sleeping in an exclosed camper emit a lot of water vapor if there is not enough circulation of air, your going to have the condesation on the windows and/or dampness issues. If you don't have a vent cover like a maxair or fantastic, you are quickly going to learn why these are so popular. These covers that cover the little, thin, and after a while brittle vent covers that come standard, protect those thin covers from being damaged by hail and UV and most importantly, allow you to open the vents nearly all the way without risk of rain getting in. Buy and install one, maybe over the bathroom vent that has a fan and your issue is solved. We are putting in a fantastic vent as soon as the weather permits. I didn't know about the condensation, if I did I would have left the fan running. We do have the vent cover from the HT and I'm sure we can get that on tomorrow I'm also buying CO, fire detector and digital thermostat today. Thank you everyone for all of your help and have a blessed Memorial Day.

RE: New TT, CO2 detector keeps going off?

They say that a poor man buys everything twice. I think I've learned my lesson with that. We needed more room and this was all we can afford. I'm happy my DH is handy. I will deal with the problems and manage to have fun. I love all the room and windows, so I don't think I made a horrible mistake, just getting over the bumps.

RE: New TT, CO2 detector keeps going off?

Oh my goodness, what a disaster. I can't wait for the DH to get here. Gave the grandson a bath, when I let the water out of the tub it blew the drain in the sink to the ceiling. The whole bathroom was soaked. I called the dealership, the think a vent may be closed, they are calling me back. What a day...

RE: New TT, CO2 detector keeps going off?

Maybe next time buy a Lance or one that's constructed a lot better w/ more options. WoodGlue Unless we trade it in today (not likely) it is permanent. We will deal with the problems as we go along. There is a ceiling panel delaminating and a recall on the awning, the dealer is coming out to fix both. I'm happy with the camper, but the upkeep is going to be more work than I expected. Everyone stay safe and have fun this memorial weekend.

RE: New TT, CO2 detector keeps going off?

Yes, cheap as in low end. I would go as far as saying it is junk. I was never offered upgrades. My old camper was 100 percent better. I will buy a new CO sector and run the furnace on high for a while.

New TT, CO2 detector keeps going off?

First night alone with the kids and I. It is very cold so I had the heat on.nseveral times during the night the co2 detector went off and again this morning. There is also lots of condensation on the window, they are dripping wet. I have a window cracked open, but I'm afraid to turn the heat on again. I'll call the dealership when they open, but has anyone else had this problem? Word to the wise? Never go cheap. I'm beginning to regret my decision.

RE: Bunk bed rails for young kids

I wanted to add a bedrail to our new trailer because the bunks are open all along one side. We didn't use one in the old trailer because the bunks were tucked next to the bathroom. Our girls are older, so the baby section at Walmart is out because they would NOT want to sleep on those bars under the wimpy bunkbed mattresses. We found this at ikea and it works perfectly. It's just big enough to keep from kids from rolling of the beds but doesn't get in the way of anything. Probably not the best solution for a younger child but works really well for our girls. Those are great, how do they attach to the bed? Are those clamps? They are clamps, our bunks have a wood lip that hold the mattress in place. They aren't big rails that block off the whole bunk bed area - my girls are 15 and 10 so I just wanted to add something small because the bunks felt so open. I'll take a picture with them installed if I can later today. I put mine in myself. Takes about 5 minutes per rail to put together and it holds great. I got them for my 6 and 8 y/o grandchildren. For the price, and since you don't have a bump under the thin mattress, I think these are great.

RE: How hard is it to put in a skylight?

You know what I don't understand? Why in the world would you put the fan directly in the shower ceiling? Why not put it in the bathroom area instead? My old camper had the skylight in the shower and the fantastic vent in over the commode, just makes more sense to me.

RE: How hard is it to put in a skylight?

you have a brand new RV. don't cobble it up with make shift nonsense. get a curtain that has those heavy metal inserts on the bottom hem to hold it down. get a bowed out curtain rod. leave the fan off until your 5 minute shower is over. bumpy I think I will have to agree with this Bumpy. In searching the net I found an idea with putting a hook on the wall and attaching a string to the curtain to hold it out? I'm also thinking of putting in a fantastic vent fan. The fan we have is horrible and LOUD. It is brand new and unless the dealer does the work our warranty for leaks is void. We bought one of the expandable shower rods, but it wouldn't fit in our situation so I had to return it.

RE: What Did You Do For Your Travel Trailer Recently?

We did so much this weekend, but I didn't get photos yet of all of it. Put in new stairs for the existing smaller deck. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj57/Crash-mom/camper_zps0172b9c6.jpeg Put in a recessed toilet paper roll dispenser. Now no one will bump into it. Put railings on the bunks for the grandkids. Husband built a shelf for the Directv and DVD players, looks nice. Replaced original shower head with the body spa shower head, that is a huge upgrade! Also put in the tv for the bunk room, husband had to put supports on the inside of the cabinet for that, what a pain in the you-know-what. We did a bunch of stuff last weekend, but eventually we will get this new TT like home.

How hard is it to put in a skylight?

In our new TT the fan is right above the shower. This weekend when I used it, it darned near sucked the shower curtain up while I was taking a shower. So, it isn't likely I will be able to take a shower with the fan on. I'm thinking of putting a skylight there and putting the fan over a few feet. Would this be difficult?

RE: Bunk bed rails for young kids

I ordered the bunk rails sold at Ikea, I just hope they work for my wiggly little grandchildren. They should be here before the Memorial weekend trip (I hope).

RE: Safest way to jack up the TT?

bottle jack next to the leaf spring mounts. Use a 12-20 ton for ease of use. Boards are fine, I prefer the Lynx Levelers, even for just sitting under the tires. Just do one wheel at a time and it will be fine. PS.. what kind of TV are you looking at? Thanks! We don't have a TV, we had it delivered. So that is our dilemma.

Safest way to jack up the TT?

When we go to our lot next weekend we plan to put some boards under the tires. Question, can you safely jack up one side of the trailer at a time to put the board under the tires, or is there a special way to do this. We would pull it out and roll it over the tires if we had a truck, but we had it delivered and we don't have a truck big enough to move it. It is a Keystone Summerland 3030BH. Thanks in advance for any advice. I really want to do this the right way, I don't want to bend or break anything.
