RE: TAIL DRAG SOLUTION? E-450

Ours is pretty low by design. I have had success just taking approaches at an angle. Now I only scrape when I forget.

RE: Some advice for a newbie RV'er

I would go for it! Just make sure you check it over real well and pressure testing it is a great idea. When I bought our '94 class c it had a leak in the cab over and it was not fun to fix but I did it. It had over 100k miles on it and still ran very strong.

RE: I Thought The Economy Was Depressed

Try to broaden your Craigslist search. I found our first class C in the tri-city's. Search all over the NW you will find one. Deals are out there. I hear you on the junk out there. Be careful. Good luck!!

RE: Where to Sell Motorhome?

Craigslist would be the best. I've sold tons of stuff on there including an RV.

RE: I Thought The Economy Was Depressed

Try Craigslist, I've seen some great deals and plenty of class c's. Last year we bought ours and looked on the lots and the supply was pretty sad. We ended up buying from a private party. Good luck with your search!

RE: Class C cabover lights replacement problem

How about gluing in a piece of wood with gorilla glue? My buddy just removed the lights and filled the holes with calk. Then you lose the leak point.

RE: Dinete to reclining chairs? Anyone done this before?

Ours came with a couch in place of a dinette and we love it . There is lots of room under the couch so I don't see why you couldn't fit the tank and electrical under the couch.

RE: why did you go with a Class C?

We love the cab over. They are easy to drive, just like a big van. I've never drivin an A though so can't say how they do. It kind of depends on what your doing. We go to smaller campgrounds so an A isn't a good fit for us.

RE: E450 handeling problems

Mine had all the suspension upgrades done when we bought it. It still drove funny and bounced all over. It turned out that the front tires were inflated to 80psi. I dropped them to 65psi and now it's smooth as silk.

RE: Getting ready to buy a used Jayco 31FS

I did exactly what you are thinking of doing. I handed over a Cashier's check though and received a bill of sale and then after about a month or 2 got the title from the bank. The sellers bank was across the country so no way to do it any other way. I trusted the guy although I didn't know him that well. Good luck!
If the sellers bank is local you should be able to go to the bank with the check, then the seller can make up the difference and they should hand over the title.

RE: Refridgerator Problems- 1993 Dometic s1621 not cold

We had a 94 and the fridge was dead when we bought it. I lucked out and the rv parts house had taken 1 from an auction and sold it to me for $350. I think it's almost not worth it to get an old one fixed. The old ones are fussy and have to be perfectly level to run right. Watch Craigslist, I see them all the time in our area. Good luck!

RE: Cab over seam leak

Drain off the water if there is any. Then take the banding off. Get some replacement stainless steel screws. Dry out the cabover with a fan if need be (this takes a few days). Put the banding back on and use the butil tape underneath it and screw it down with the stainless screws. Now re-calk it with flexseal. That's what worked for me on my '94.
Good luck!

My HR didn't come with them either so I suspect the manual is generic.

RE: Motorcraft synthetic blend or switch to full synthetic

I only use Mobil 1 in my rigs. It has served me well over the years. I think full synthetic is the best. Your past the break-in so go for it!

RE: Winnebago quality

Can't speak for Winne quality but it seems that most people speak highly of them.
The one thing I wanted to point our is that $16,900 seems like a lot for a '96 anything. I paid $7500 for a '94 jamboree in 2010. Have you looked on Craigslist or thought about a private party sale? Honestly, I would probably only pay $7K max. In my opinion, on rigs that old, build quality isn't as much of an issue it's more about how well it's been taken care of.
Have you looked at the Nada value? Nada value assuming it has a genny and an awning
Good luck with your search!
