RE: Any downside to putting your name and cell # on the door?

we don't leave information at our site. However, we do carry cards with us that advises (in the event of an emergency, death etc) what our address is and that a pet is in the RV.

RE: New RV provided with propane the norm?

I go with his cutting corners what else is he cutting? I have owned a number of RV's and they all came with full propane tanks. Everything needed to leave his dealership and head for a campground except groceries.

RE: Oil drops below $90 - Fuel prices will drop soon!!

The price at the pump has little to do with the price of a barrel of crude. The refineries set the end price and they control the flow. The U.S. is actually shipping crude oil to foreign countries today.

RE: Camper Envy

When you factor in what it cost the guy with the big 5ver for his tow vehicle. 5vers are notoriously hard on tires also. Then what it cost him initially, the depreciation he is taking every year. There little room for envy. Just enjoy your new rig, and be glad you enjoyed the small unit with out it costing you an arm & a leg.

RE: Roof Lounge TT?

The Arctic Fox commercial would probably sell me on their products. One has to wonder if they build this way across their line of RV's.

RE: RV toilet paper now that Walmart is gone?

Walgreen's "big Roll" is just great for Rv's. Wife done test on several and it worked the best of all and is the cheapest--- with most on the roll.

RE: Buying on line? Don't waste your $$ on freight

Desert Captain: You are spot on with the freight thing. I usually get products in less that 2-3 days and do not pay expedited freight charges.

RE: Onan 5500 Gold - anyone had any repairs needed?

Had to have a new voltage regulator put on one at 368 hours. No problems with any of them beyond that.

RE: Is RV Surplus Salvage in Elkhart still worth a trip?

I personally think the greatest value of these places is the vast availability of so many parts. Price wise, your local dealer can do about as well.

RE: "I dont get why people camp"

I can't believe people pay to hear that very un-funny crap. There are lots of negatives to camping per se, most of them financial.

RE: Here's a pretty clever picnic table ilumination idea......

The nice thing about it seems to be that it would not disturb any one else. Some people think they have to use 500 Watt halogens to eat a hot dog.

RE: Fantastic Fan vs Maxx Fan??

My brother had one of each on his motor home. He liked them equally, said the Maxx was a little quieter, but not much.

RE: Livin' Lite Beauty Or The Beast?

I personally like very little in the way of Graphics of any design. If they want to put a small nature scene on the side toward the rear fine. A straight strip or two like an automobile is just fine with me.

RE: I just don't get it

The bald faced truth is, Americans are living a constant lie. We have been coditined by commercials since we were born that we must have those toys or we are not having fun and we are not engaged in the great American Dream. Do what ypu are comfortable with and can afford. Don't think about the other guy and what he has. We just experiemced what the big bubble can do when it burst. I RV, but if I can't pay cash for it I don't get it. Even then the operating expenses are horrific and getting worse all the time. We are going to have to re-invent this country and live with in our means. Enjoy what you have and never lust for the big stuff.

RE: Shower head

Walmart has a very good stainless shower head with push button shut off for about three bucks. I replaced all mine. With including the stix and bricks. Î like a lot force this head has that. I also keeps the setting constant.

RE: Whens the best time to buy a new RV?

April or May are very bad times to buy anything RV. The absolute best time to buy is when someone wants out of the hobby and wants to quickly move their equipment. Time of year then makes no difference.

Been there done that with these "I am doing you a favor people". Tell me yes or no and how much. I'll make the final decision.

RE: Down The Rabbit Hole - Living In An RV

I thought the clip on the lady with the van showed good American ingenuity and resourcefulness. It would take a lot out of a lady her age to strike out like this. She really seems to know what she is doing. I found all her rationales very well grounded. The only question I have is what does she do for diversity and entertainment in lets say BLM c/g's where there are some times few amenities and services. She was very interesting and resourceful.

RE: I'm Feeling it Today

Yes it does get to be more of a chore every year. I guess it is supposed to, that is aging. You notice it, but I doubt it is really hurting you. Just slow down and take it easy. One accident of any kind could ruin your life.

RE: Question

Check with him and see if he can arrange it. I have sold to unauthorized dealers, albeit not at the same contract price, but close. Probably 5% difference. As far as the warranties go, they almost all have the same appliances in them, not a problem. Structural warranty, most good manufacturers will honor their work and materials. A good dealer you like is 110% of the game.
