Before making your decision I would go to the Crossroads forum and do some research. There have been some Q/C issues over the last year or so and they cut their warranty in half. I am not saying they are all bad just lots more reports of quality issues over the last year.

After reading the maxandmoose post my first thought was this sounds exactly like what Tom Montague would post word for word. And considering this user joined 10/2010 which is the month and year Redwood started production one has to wonder...... And do you think if you call Tom(GM Redwood) he is going to tell you any different than what is in that post, no. Read the post carefully, it was not put together by your average user here especially one with only 7 post since they joined over two years ago. No such user is a member of the Redwood forum either.

Columbis, I have been running a Sidewinder on our 12k 5th wheel since 2008 and love it. I do have a LWB truck and did not really need it but it was a one off deal Crossroads did and it did not cost us anything. The trailer does respond much faster and backs and turns better thsn our old 5th wheel did and it was 4' shorter. You umay get negative comments on them but most of those people have never used one or towed with it. And yes they are very stable just like a regular pinbox if you have the proper wedge and have it adjusted correctly.

Crossroads cut their warranty from a 2+5 to a 1 year warranty. They have also been having QC issues for about a year now.

There is nothing on that forum and you have to sign up again if you want to be a member. Not what Tom told the forum members would happen. I don't think they know what they are doing right now.

advertising for or promoting other companies products on our website will not be tolerated and those posts going forward will be monitored and deleted.
In other words he did not like it when I and others compared other manufactures warranties to the new and improved Crossroads 1+Promise. I guess those will be monitored and deleted like the daily spam the forum has put up with for months. In the 8 years I have been on the Crossroads forum we never had any issues or problems until Tom showed up to defend his new warranty. Tom is a salesman and should stick to doing that.

I recently sent them an email about some questions I had on my new unit and I got a response that says it was recieved and that due to their "growth" it may take longer than 24 hours to get a response.
That growth may be short lived after all this plays out. 9 days and counting that the owners forum has been down.

They do not have a forum admin (Marketing Director was the Admin). The one that ran the forum for years left not long after the new management team came in and started making changes. He saw the writting on the wall and went else where. The one that took over that position was let go a few weeks back so they have no one to run the forum. That was the reason for all the spam. I would say at this point after the forum being down for over a week now they have tried to get someone from the outside to fix it. Although I do find it odd that the morning after Tom posted his long awaited comparison the forum disappears......

See Bipefliers post.
Cruzin is my brother.
They have had slide seal, water intrustion, poor fit of components, hitch had to be reinforced and while doing that they cracked the front cap pulling it down on the bolts, etc.
Something like 20 issues listed on the first return to the factory.

Since it is a 335SS floor plan could it be an issue with the Schwintek slide system on the bedroom slide? I know the 335SS seems to have the most problems with that right now. Just taking a guess.

They claim it is a hardware upgrade. Now that may well be the truth but our guys here at work can do that in a day or less. I think the big problem is the only good web site/forum admin they had bailed when he saw what was happening within the company. Now they have no one to administer the forum. The Redwood forum is still taking spam so they have not stopped it there either. Their reputation continues to decline everyday.
