RE: Lippert Frame warranty void b/c bike rack added.....

I called Lippert right after we got our new 5th wheel and asked about drilling four holes to mount a reciever hitch on the frame to carry two mountain bikes on a rack. I was told if I did I would void the frame warranty. I asked nicely why drilling four holes in the trailer frame that is heavier than the frame on my truck that as four holes drilled in it for the stock reciever hitch would void the warranty. I even told the guy I was willing to put it in writting all we would put on the hitch was a bike rack and two bikes weighing under 150 lbs. and there was a long pause, then the guy says if you drill holes in the frame it will void the warranty. I said thank you and hung up thinking I have bought our last trailer with a Lippert frame. If drilling four holes in the frame to mount a reciever hitch is going to weaken the frame to the point of failure I do not think much of their frame to begin with. Just my $.02.

RE: Walnut Canyon RV Park, Canyon Lake Tx

I have heard good things about this park but we will be there for about a week in December and need FHU sites which I don't believe this park has.

Walnut Canyon RV Park, Canyon Lake Tx

I am trying to get some information on this RV park close to Canyon Lake Tx. Seems like a fairly new place and I found nothing here when I did a search. Has anyone stayed there that can tell me what this place is like? Thanks

RE: Cascade Caverns RV Park, Tx

NevadaJim, that would be great. The trip we are planning in that area is not until December. I knew about the cave but their web site says they have added an RV park with FH.

RE: Central vac v. none

Since ours already has wooden steps I was thinking it may make the job a little easier. I took one of the steps out of our old 5th wheel and I know what you mean about the staples.

RE: Central vac v. none

We have a Dirt Devil in our trailer and really like it.
nelsoje, that is a great idea on the steps. I am going to look into doing that on ours to store the central vac accessories.

RE: Stabilizers which ones are better?

Since we have a Sidewinder pin we were not able to try a tripod. We went with the Eliminator stabilizers and love them.

RE: Lippert frame "weld" problems

Maybe the links to some of the post like this should be forwarded to Lippert's email address and to the manufactures that are involved with these issues.

RE: mission tires

Ours did not last 5k miles and they started to come apart. I replaced them with BFG Commercial LT tires.

RE: Manual to Power Awning,.. ..Good Decision?

We had our manual awning converted to electric and love it. It sure makes it nice if a storm blows up to have the awning put up in about 20 seconds.

RE: Sidewinder noise

I use a little spray silicon on the turret every couple of months and have no noise at all. I can turn ours by hand when not hooked up to the truck.

RE: Do Timbrem help

I have a set of Timbrens on my truck and they work very well. The ride was improved with the trailer hooked up after I installed them.

Top of the Hill RV Resort

Can anyone give me a recommendation good or bad on this RV park outside Boerne, Tx.? Is it far enough off I10 there is not much road noise? How about site spacing? Thanks

RE: Carefree Awning - one arm opens before the other??

I agree with Dayle1, if ours is low on the off door side the rear arm tends to hang up.

RE: New "victim" of Mission Tires

We just had the Missions replaced on our trailer that had less than 5k miles on them. Two had started to come apart at the tread. I went with BFG Commercial LT tires. I feel much less stressed while towing now.

RE: Overhang drooping. Any suggestions on a fix

Ours did the same thing and I used a stud finder to find the metal cross bracing for the frame and used stainless self tapping screws with washers to pull it back up tight.

RE: Another Roadside Assistance question

We have been with CoachNet for 3 years now. We have used them once for a flat and they were very helpful and had someone to us in about 30 minutes. We also don't get a bunch of junk mail from them like we did when we had GS.
