RE: Another Roadside Assistance question

We have been with CoachNet for 3 years now. We have used them once for a flat and they were very helpful and had someone to us in about 30 minutes. We also don't get a bunch of junk mail from them like we did when we had GS.

RE: Slide seal

Pahrump Dude, why don't you just sell it and move on?

RE: LT tires on trailers

I just ditched my Mission tires for BFG Commercial T/A All Seasons. I got a great deal at Discount Tire, 4 of them were $590 out the door and then I also got a $70 mail in rebate. They matched a price that I found online at Tirerack.com of $128 per tire. I just made this same swap two weeks ago. I looked at a Goodyear Marathon ST and a BFG Commercial LT side by side in the store and the BFG was a heavier tire. I pushed down on both and the LT had stiffer sidewalls compared to the ST. We had two of the Missions start to come apart with less than 5K miles on them. I am much happier with the BFG.

RE: Dear China: Please Stop Making Tires

We just had our Mission load range E tires that came on our trailer replaced with 4 new BFG LT Commercial load range E tires. The Missions had less than 5k miles on them and were always at the max 80 psi. On our last trip we had one about to come apart as we pulled up to the house (very lucky) and when we had the tires replaced as they were removing them we found another that had cracks in the tread area. The Discount Tire guy checked the date and said they were manufactured in late 06. I feel much better about towing now.

RE: Sidewinder Pin Box Coupler - Who has it installed

I have a LWB truck but our 5th wheel came with a Sidewinder hitch installed from the factory. I did not think I would really notice a difference with it since I have a LWB truck but it really makes the trailer so much easier to back and turn. I really like ours.

RE: Tire blow out on new Cedar Creek

I had a set of BFG Commercial LT235/85/16E installed on our trailer yesterday. They replaced the Mission tires that came on the trailer that were made in 06. We had one that the belts started to seperate on our last trip and when they were taking the Missions off we found another with cracks on the treads. The Missions had less than 5k miles on them.

RE: insulating the basement

I used 2" ridgid foam insulation between the aluminum floor braces then covered everything with the Reflectix bubble wrap. We sealed all the seams with aluminum AC/Heating tape. I sealed the pass thru storage area and the front storage area. We feel like it helped a lot.

RE: Sidewinder

Ours came from the factory with a Sidewinder installed. Even though I have a LWB truck I still like the Sidewinder a lot.

RE: Question about BAL Deluxe Chocks

We went from a trailer with 15" tires to one with 16" and our BAL chocks worked fine in the switch. Like you said we only lost about an inch but still have plenty of room to get the chocks in and crank them down.

RE: Adding Central Vacuum

We have the Dirt Devil system in our 5th wheel and love it. Below is about the best price I have seen on the kit. http://www.rvupgradestore.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=23

RE: Favorite RV parks in TX Hill Country?

Another vote for Buckhorn Lake here. We have been there three times over the last year including thier New years Eve party and always have a good time. We found the office staff and the owners to be very helpful and hospitable.

RE: Having a Homebase

We are looking at doing this same thing when we retire. We are looking in the Northeast Texas area for 10 to 30 acres. We would use this as our home base and have looked at putting a park model on the property as well so we could keep some of our furniture. cdrsmr, I don't know if you are a member of the Crossroads forum but if you are I hope you have seen my post about the Texas Rally in March. Maybe you can join us.
