RE: For those of you that cover your HTT rv?
I don't know about delamination or roof leaks. Most covers (well the ADCO covers I have used) are not waterproof so water will get through. I used my cover mostly to keep the dirt/pine sap etc... off the camper. They work very well for keeping the dirt and sun off.
However I have to say that after using a cover for the last 4 years, I have only had 1 last longer then 1 season. To that end, I probably will not keep using them as they are pretty expensive when you start buying one a season. Others may have more luck with them but mine keep getting caught on things and tear. I do put padding on the corners of my camper, etc...but for one reason or another they just don't seem to last. Just something to consider.
Closing Awning Issues
Hi Folks,
I am having a problem with my 12V Travel'R Awning from Carefree of Colorado. The Awning came with my Jayco 19h trailer which has about 4 seasons of camping on it.
About a month ago I was camping and our awning opened up just fine, but when it came time to leave the campground, and we tried to close it, it did not close. I wound up getting up on a picnic table and just helping it by turning the roller and it seemed to close (although very slowly).
I e-mailed Carefree of Colorado and discovered that it actually takes more power to close then open so I got the battery tested and as it turned out it took a charge but wouldn't hold it. I purchased a new battery and tested the awning. It opened and closed ok. I then went camping again a week ago (w full hookups) and when I set up, we opened the awning with no problems but again when it came time to leave, I had the same problem and I wound up on the picnic table again.
Has anyone else had any issues like this? Any suggestions? Carefree of Colorado didn't really have any other suggestions other then taking it in to have it looked at. I was going to do that as a last resort but was just trying to make sure I covered all bases first.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
