RE: Help I am gagging

I use plain yogurt instead of sour cream when I make cornbread.

RE: Campers Booking Right Next To You?

Maybe it is their favorite spots? I know at our favorite campground, the row we like best fills up almost completely before any of the other spots on that loop have tenants.

RE: Collie's medicine cabinet

I have it easy. My husband and one of my dogs are on the same allergy medicine. I just purchase one big bottle and they share. :W

RE: Sleep number bed?? In the cold

We have a sleep number style mattress in our 5er, and it can be cold when you first get in. It really helped when we added a 3 inch memory foam topper. The foam insulates and retains body heat. Once it warms up, we stay nice and cozy.

RE: How do Wabbit's Eat this Stuff?

The Nugget Campground in St Regis has (had?) hundred's of rabbits living in and around the campground. My poor Dandi Dog wouldn't even look at them after she discovered she was not allowed to chase them. We didn't have Lotti Dog the last time we were there, she would probably loose her little beagle brain. I haven't been there in a few years, so I don't know if they still have the rabbits.

RE: Dobermans as family pets?

As others have said, a lot depends more on how well the dog was socialized into the human pack. My Dad's chihuahua was far more dangerous than my Mom's Dobie-wuss. The chi would sneak up behind people and bite them, the dobie would just lick you to death.

RE: Budget Friendly Grain Free Kibble

Be sure to read labels for any "grain-free" dog food every time you purchase a bag. We have had reputable brands change their formula without warning and add some "safe" grain to stretch. Our Lotti Dog is horribly allergic to anything in the grass family. That means wheat, rice, barley, corn, oats, etc. Before we had her tested, she had chewed or scratched off most of her fur and was a mass of bloody scabs. She even has trouble with protein sources that primarily feed on grass - beef, venison, so we try to stick with chicken or duck proteins. Word of warning - the fish protein smells bad in the bag, and even worse when the dog is done with it. :B

RE: Wife's Stone Soup

My Mama taught me that a man will eat and enjoy any meal if you serve it with fresh, hot biscuits. Especially homemade soup.

RE: Can't find an eletric bed warmer that actually gets warm!

We bought this one: http://www.costco.com/SoftHeat%C2%AE-Waterproof-Soft-Heat-Low-Voltage-Electric-Warming-Pad.product.100007891.html If we turn it on "hi" about 45 minutes before we go to bed, it is almost too hot - rather like climbing into a dry hot tub. Felt very good on my pulled shoulder muscles last week!

RE: Color Matched Line-X

We like spray in liners, but will never do a color again. We color-matched our red Ford in late 1999 or early 2000. Bad idea. Over time the red faded - a lot and unevenly. When we sold the truck, the liner ranged in color from a nasty white to orange. It was still red under the in-bed tool box and the underside of the rails. We went with black on our new, white truck.

RE: New Matress

You will get many suggestions depending on the writer's personal preference. (we like the dual chambered airbeds with a memory foam topper) I would suggest what ever brand you used in your house and was the most comfortable for your backs.

RE: When you start having problems with stairs!

We have one, and while I like the concept, I have two problems. Both issues are based on my height and usage. 1. If you pull on the handrail wrong when climbing the stairs, you can unseat the lower section where it connects with the step. It needs a pin to secure it to the bracket. 2. The vinyl grip sections are in the wrong places for me to grab. It would be nice if that entire section was covered, or if you could attach the material yourself where you need it.

RE: 2013 New Colors

It will certainly stand out in the campground. "We are easy to find, look for the third campsite on the right past the nauseous green trailer."

RE: Cooking in my Suburban oven

There are a couple of things you might try.... 1. The oven may be too hot. I don't trust the dial on the oven for temperature control, I use an oven thermometer inside. 2. Let the oven come completely to heat before puttung the food in. 3. You might also try a pizza stone or clay tile in the oven to even out the heat. Thin bottomed metal pans burn very easily. I actually use glass pans in my oven most of the time. I am sure other people with have some other, good suggestions.

RE: Must Have's - Nice To Have's - Don't Bother's

Don't have kids, so I can't speak for bed spaces, but I do cook and bake in our rig. Stand in the kitchen and imagine yourself cooking meals for your family. Is there enough counter space without the sink inserts (dirty dishes)? Is there enough storage for your kitchen essentials. Can you prepare food without using the table? (you will need to "eat-in" on rainy days). We don't use paper, so space for pots, pans, dishes and eating/cooking utensils is important to us.
