RE: Veterans

Sure is sad; but what others said: especially if you feel you have been treated unfair. Go to the patient advocate; just like the chain of command when active. If the Dr. put you down as non compliant; ask for another Dr. Be careful to take the medicine as prescribed as you know they do both blood and urine tests. I have been to Desmoines, Iowa VA and now in Murfreesboro, Tn. which is new to me and different. Since Oct. 2012 and finally got my Primary Dr. may 9th 2013. They have so many patients; they don't need us; but we need them if we have no other type of health care. :M I can also realize your anger and frustration; explain to them you need some relief from the pain your going through; not only physical but the mental anguish. I know how pain can affect ones' thinking. Our natural reaction to pain is flight or fight. This is where we have to act civil and keep our cool when we are asking for help. I hope and pray for a successful outcome for you! Irover

RE: Bruising less and it's got me worried

I just had to restart on blood thinners. What is the cost savings of generic Clopidogrel over brand name Plavix? I paid about $15.00 for 30 at Walmart. I hear Plavix can be well over $100.oo.

RE: Too old to continue traveling ? Grown children urging ..

RoadXYZ: I simply told them that I wanted to spend as much time doing what I enjoy and would see them and the grands as often as I could. I don't want to live with them nor live in an apartment complex nor a nursing home unless it becomes absolutely necessary. We have the phone; internet and my visits about twice a yr for 3-4 weeks which is all we can stand.

RE: Just punishmenmt for misrepresentation

:h Man; there sure is a lot of you who have an agenda toward Poor Phil. The ski and snowmobiles businesses have had many tough times the past few years. This past winter Lil' Phil has been a savior to them ans the snow removal businesses and related ones. Give the pitiful animal a break!!!

RE: When did fishing get so expensive!

WE had a lot of fun when we were kids, and most of it was free, because we were kids and had no money. Then, we grew up, and someone in charge of fun realized we like fun AND have some money. So fun suddenly got expensive because the people in charge of fun realized we had money and were willing to pay for fun that once was free. So, there we have it! This is the honest Truth! :B

Florida also renews by mail or online for DL's and registrations. DL good for 8 Yrs; Registrations 1-2 yrs. My vehicle is exempt from emissions; however you can check online on their DMV website.

RE: Non-resident recreational vehicle registration in New Mexico

My husband and I permanently live in Florida and are considering purchasing a new travel trailer from a dealer in New Mexico. We have been told there is a New Mexico law that states we, even as non-residents, can title, register, and pay their 3% taxes, all in New Mexico and that we will never have to register or title the TT in Florida. The cost savings is attractive, but we are concerned about running afoul of any Florida statutes. I've searched but can't find clear information speaking to this. Does anyone know anything about this? I'm new to this "forum" business, so if I'm not doing it right, please excuse. This Post sure got off...to California...instead of NM or Florida. I would go on to the DMV website for both states and do your research. You can also call; maybe an email; ask for the Manager, ask your ??"s but ask where you can locate the answer.

RE: Jimmie Johnson won the 500

Winning the Cup is whomever has kept his car in one piece and is in the first three cars during the white flag lap to finish the race. Most of us armchair/couch-potato racers don't know what it's like to driver 195+ MPH for 3+ hours. In present day drivers it is a toss-up as to whom is the best driver. As in the past; it would be Cale Yarbrough, Richard Petty, Bill Elliot, Mark Martin and Terry and Bobbie Labonte; Bobbie Allinson to name a few.

RE: Herniated Disc

When the Doctor is performing the injection; Ask him if it's OK to squeeze his hand if it becomes to painful so they can use more anthesics. It should only feel like a pushing feel with no pain. Don't move one iota until you are told to do so. The procedure was easier than the pain from the injury. Stay relaxed and calm; all will be OK!!!

RE: Herniated Disc

Just my 2 cents!!! In 1985 I herniated 2 discs the L/3-4 and the L/4-5. I was given medications, hot tub therapy, hot to cold packs, tens unit, tried chiropratic and massage therapy and injections. Nothing worked for very long term. I went to the New England Back Center in 1993 and they convinced me to start a walking routine, even though I was Carrying a backpack of maybe 20#'s of books around a college campus. I started short walks of say 5 minutes, then kept increasing the time and after four months the pain slowly became bearable and about a year and a half tossed the medications. I use an aleve every so often now, when needed. May not work for all and not to say I don't have pain but on the 1-10 scale I am around a 3 and sometimes as high as a 6 when it is raining or cold out. It use to be in the 8-10 range all the time.

RE: Corn Is For Cows And Cornbread Not Cars!

Seen it first hand as I worked for a golf cart company. We stored gas engine carts durin the coldest months. If they sat to long even with the use of Stabil in the gas it still gunked up the carbs. Also would have to flush the tanks and sometime even replace the gas lines. The only way around it was to unhook the fuel lines (800+ carts) and run them until the carb was dry and spray light weight oil in the throat of the carb. Had to also drain the gas tank. What a Pain!!! If it is not the ethanol than what it it? If we ran the carts year round; not as much problem other than the fuel line. the gas carts manufactured from 2008 up seemed to not have as much trouble.

RE: DC road conditions and traffic

I-95 South into Delaware then take 896 South to 301 south to 50 to the Chespeake Bay Bridge. You either can go South on 301 south through Waldorf and then the Nice Bridge into Virgina. Or go to the Beltway I-495 and connect 95 South. Myself I would follow 301 South to the I-295 Beltway around Richmond.

Tornadoes In Tennesse!!!

:E Thirteen tornadoes ripped through the Music City area. Mt. Juliet east of Nashville had an F-2 that touched down and wreaked havoc on 200+ homes and businesses in a five-mile path. Fortunately only one death in Nashville when a large tree fell on a storage shed a man was using as a residence behind his relatives house.
