RE: Which cell phone

You said basic: I have been using Net 10 prepaid Phones as cheap as $15.00; I have a $59.00 one; 300 minutes for $30.00 good for 60 days then renew before the end date and minutes roll over. Just bought a $79.00 LG optimus Android smartphone from Walmart which is unlimited talk; text and web for $45.00 month.

:( I can't believe how many topics that have been closed recently! :S Is it so difficult for people to refrain from making rude and unwanted comments. It makes me feel as though it's not worth clicking on to certain threads now! This used to be filled with helpful outstanding people when I first joined. Come on people let's keep it respectful and clean before it becomes another that goes by the wayside! :C Irover

RE: States must see poll

Each State has it's beauty along with the ugly. I have kind of settled down about 30 miles east of Nashville TN. due to medical problems and two VA Hospitals. After living here for about 3/4 months I've found this to have the friendliest and most helpful people of most of the States I've been in other than the rural towns of KY. Yes; so far this Northerner has found Hospitality and maybe a new "retirement area to call home". Irover

RE: Thinking of doing it but would like more info

I did it from 12/09 to 7/12 as a single and had income based healthcare from the Veterans Healthcare. I worked about 9 mos. of the yr. About 10 weeks each year for Amazon; Paid 9.90 hr and your space and hookups ( you are moving constantly and on your feet for all but maybe 45 mins of a 10 hr day. ) It paid for 2 months of R&R. I worked at two others; one for 5 months @ 7.00 hr plus FHUS and then another for $7.50 hr. for about 2&1/2 mos. I made it work, wore out the Cl-C; had fun most of the time; got a chance to visit relatives for 2 weeks of the year. Now for the bad; had a severe heart attack in the end of March 2012; had to quit a job in July 2012. Lived on what small savings I had; borrowed from Peter and Paul; Mary was kinder. Applied and finally got disability this Month and paid everyone back. Live in the old worn Cl-C and see VA for Congestive heart failure; 1/2 of the front heart wall muscle is dead; Short of breath if I exert myself. As you can see Westernparkowner is correct as I never had a great income; but I will make it as I am a survivor with a few smarts left on survival. You have a big decision to make as I did when my company downsized in Oct. of 2009 and I was informed that there was no more room for me! Wish you luck. Research; Research; and when you think it's right do some more Research! Irover

RE: Heed Warning Signs

:( How I can relate; Will never forget the morning of March 30th 2012. Awoke at 4:20 for nature call and had not drank alcohol for 24 yrs; but felt woozy and off balance. I shrugged it off as being tired;Laid back in the bed and the shoulders started to hurt; then felt like my chest was caving in. Got up went to the kitchen got some water; lit up my last smoke. I took two puffs put it out as i lacked breath. I was in denial and put it off as strained muscles; two hours and tingling in my arms. Yep! Got my but to the ER! I had the first of two stents in by 8:45 am. Then one more and an angioplasty to open a smaller vessel. I had suffered a severe heart attack. This July I was diagnosed with CAD; CHF; Ischemia; no wall motion from the mid-frontal area to the bottom of my heart. Live on more medications now and can't work. Don't put off the warning signs of a HA and learn the signs if you don't know them. The life you save may be your own!

RE: Somewhat scared and concerned

OP here, I have an appointment with the doctor made. I have started discussing the situation with my wife and oldest daughter who is a registered nurse. They have both had a calming effect on me. I want to thank all of you for your advice, thoughts and prayers. It is also comforting to know that there are total strangers out there who care about others and wish them the best. Thank you all! Dave As a STEMI Heart attack survivor with 3 stents and angioplasty done; You have done it right. Don't mess with the pain in your chest; it could be costly because time is heart muscle. I lost the mid front wall motion all the way down to the bottom of the heart because i denied it was a heart attack and waited 2+ hrs. before going to the ER. Almost four hours before the Cardio got the first artery opened.

RE: question re: cardiac stent

I had three stents and an angioplasty done on a smaller artery. Had 95%; two blockages on the Left outside descending artery and 85% on the right coronary artery. I now have no wall motion from the front mid-wall down to the bottom where the ventricles are. I have Congestive heart failure; Ischemia and high lipid count. Caused mostly from cigarettes. Yes the heart attack was the wake-up call and haven't smoked one since March 30th 2012. I smoked since 1963; quit about four times before so I smoked for about 45 yrs. I am very fortunate to be alive today to even discuss this and i hope your nephew the most success. It was not easy; but it is worth it.
