RE: Need new tires for the Warrior

I have Maxxis load range E tires on my TH and they have been great for 3.5 years. Look like new still.

RE: Fresh water question

My trailer usually sits for 6 months at a time. After one of these 'resting' periods, I decided to inspect the fresh water and emptied a small amount direct from the tank into a clear glass.
Results:
Smelled fine.
Crystal clear.
We always carry separate bottled water for drinking.

RE: changing out bottom bunk into a couch

Here are some good pictures of a 'rocket bed' setup (with some funky material I might add)....

RE: HELP how do I flip axles on my singleSeadoo trailer???

But like I said - I wouldn't mind seeing any PWC owner stranded on the road so go ahead and do it that way. Just don't expect me to stop and help.
You have some awesome karma coming your way.

RE: CPAP question

Thanks for the replies.
I suppose my concerns about life insurance premiums should not prevent me from getting the help I need.
I'm still of the opinion that this is something that can be self-administered. I have little faith in many so-called healthcare professionals but I'm sure I'll end up going this route again and who knows, maybe this time I'll be pleasantly surprised. Not looking forward to another sleep study as the first one was uncomfortable to say the least.
I found the link someone posted above several times over the years and browse it from time to time. I'll make my way back there soon.
Thanks again.

RE: CPAP question

Purchasing a CPAP requires a prescription from a sleep center. Not only to set the pressure properly, but to select the type of CPAP and mask, and the sizing as well.
I hope I can buy CPAP without a prescription... I'll figure this issue out later. And the mask will just have to be trial and error.
My main question is regarding the pressure. Can anyone offer any suggestions on this?
If you switch or purchase a new machine do you have the pressure professionally adjusted? Does anyone tinker with the pressure setting themselves?

CPAP question

I'm a 42yo male with Sleep Apnea. I've known I've had SA since I was in my early 20's when my friends would poke fun of the weird sounds I make when I sleep. My wife who sleeps though just about any noise will wake me occasionally and tell me I'm not breathing well. I can subconsciously tell I'm 'holding' my breath when I sleep.
Several years ago I went and did the overnight sleep study and the results came back inconclusive. I remember my doctor being upset with the way the test was administered and wanted me to go back for another. I never did. Now I'm tired of being tired, not to mention the health concerns.
Due to insurance reasons, I would like to avoid 'regular channels' and get CPAP on my own.
Is this possible to do on my own? I know I can purchase machines online. Do I need a doctor or professional to set up a machine for me?
Any thoughts?

RE: Trying to choose the right toyhauler?

My input.... get the one with the fewest Dometic products as possible.

RE: Dometic Duotherm Air Conditioning issue

Most of these manufactures are a dream to deal with.
Sarcasm?
Either way, I'll be on the road tomorrow before Dometic is even open. First chance I'll get to call is next monday... which I'll do.
Until then, any other thoughts/ideas are welcome.

RE: Dometic Duotherm Air Conditioning issue

Is the compressor running?
When in 06 did you buy it?
I'm fairly certain, what I hear is the compressor. The fan is definately running with no problems. When I move the switch on the thermostat from the 'off' to the 'cool' position, I hear a motor type noise from the roof mounted AC unit. What else would I be hearing besides the fan and the compressor?
Unfortunately, the trailer was purchased in June of 06. I wonder if Dometic would even hear me on this one.

Dometic Duotherm Air Conditioning issue

The Dometic AC on my 2006 trailer no longer cools.
First off, Arizona is a miserable place in July!
Two weeks ago, while packing for a trip, the AC cooled just fine (connected to 30 amp shore power). Five days later, while unpacking at home, connected to the same power, the AC blew nothing but hot air.
Fast forward to today. Packing for another trip and the AC still does not work (as if the two week rest was going to change anything). I took a laser thermometer in the trailer and pointed at the ceiling, a crisp 108 degrees. I then moved it next to one of the AC vents, 108 degrees.
The fan comes on fine, then when I move the thermostat switch to the 'cool' position, I can hear the AC unit kick on (is this the compressor I'm hearing?).
Any thoughts?
Anything that requires getting on the roof to inspect will have to wait for cooler months.
Thanks!

RE: Filling fresh water

I use one of the hose tips along with this
then I know approx how much is in the tank
Fills quickly
I've had two of those that don't work. I think it's a matter of flow rate.... slow in my case.
How fast do you fill your tank?

RE: Filling fresh water

I know someone who had a similar situation... they were filling too fast and trapping air.
Try slowing down.
I use a small 2ft section of white hose connected to regular garden hose which I then slide down halfway into the fill hole. I take over an hour to fill my 150g fresh water tank.

RE: New tires for the tow vehicle

I have Toyo MT's (load range E) and they are wearing horribly. I doubt I'll get 20k miles out of them.
Not sure what I'll go with next.

RE: First time poster, getting ready to buy Jayco, thoughts?

Am I the only one that thinks the price is too high? Especially in todays market.
You didnt say what year the trailer is so I assume you are talking brand new. Does this thing have slides, aluminum or fiberglass?
In my opinion, no bumper pull trailer should be over $30k.

RE: Top 10 Portable Grills for 2009

My wife commented yesterday "that was one of our best purchases" as we passed a Weber Q in a store.
We used a Roadtrip a few times before buying the Q. The RT is junk in comparison. Our Q now serves us at home as well as our campsites.

Sounds like you got a good deal.
I read that if you ask (or speak to the right person), Barker will send you a cover for the top of the jack.
