RE: post pictures of your HTT

Jeremy626,
Where did you get your sign?
Thanks
I made it myself. Cut the wood, painted it to match the graphics on the trailer. Have myself, the wife, the three kids, and the dog on plaque's that hang under it.

RE: post pictures of your HTT

Jeremy626,
Your PUG looks like it is suspended above the front bed. Is it an optical illusion or is this something you do on purpose? and why?
I'm messing around with how I have my space blankets attached. Before I just wrapped a small bungee around each of the latch brackets and that held the space blanket snug to the canvas, but the wind tended to grab them and they would slip off. On the side and rear bed, I ended up drilling a small hole/divot in the bottom of the latch hinge and just hook the small bungee in there (hard to describe without pics). That worked great for those because they space blankets are actually bigger than the bunk ends.
This trip I tried going the route of drilling a small hole in the rain gutter at the top of the bunk and securing it there for the front bunk. This actually created that gap you see because the front bunk is bigger than the space blanket. I think I might try the route I went on the side/rear (drilling the small hole) and see if that works out better.

Camping in Door County WI this past weekend. Chilly evenings (into the low 30's). Had nice fires in the late afternoons before it got too chilly at night. Once it got too cold for the little ones to be outside, we watched movies inside before bed time. Heated mattress pads & electric space heater kept furnace use to a minimum.

RE: clamp that holds up bunk tent

go to Lowes, buy a PVC "T", cut the long section in half, screw it to the metal hoop and you're golden!

RE: Palomino SL21 Slide out floor repair

I had a water problem on my previous trailer (02 Pal S21-SDSL) that caused the wood on the bottom of the slide (behind the black plastic stuff)to rot out. Come to find out there was a gap in the caulk at the bottom of the slide sidewall and the corner piece. I replaced as much of the wood as I could, I also put strips of Eternabond on the corner pieces. After that, no more signs of water.

RE: palomino stampede owners let me hear from you.

Just wondering if you knew there is sometimes a small button valve on the shower head itself...
We have a 2012 S-238 ...
Water barely flows out bath faucet, not useable - haven't figured that one out yet!
Sorry it's the sink faucet, not shower head...any advice? I looked for kinks but haven't found one yet.
take the screen off the end of the faucet and you'll probably find a bunch of debris clogging the spout.
this is pretty common issue, especially on new rigs and when water flows fine everywhere else.
I've had this happen on a couple different trailers, and have had it happen multiple times on the same trailer. I have water filters setup on my incoming water, but still stuff (minerals) build up and get knocked loose from the hot water tank and can clog up the screen at the faucets. Plus if you look, I've seen anywhere from 2 to 5 screens in the little faucet screen thing. Sometimes taking one or two screens out can help increase the flow.

RE: are these problems with our hybrid bunk? photos posted

can you lengthen the shepherd's pole to make the top a bit more taught? I know my shepherd's pole has a couple adjustment notches to custom fit it.

RE: Hose beside toilet

I actually made one and added it to our toilet in the rv. We cloth diaper with our littlest one. Comes in handy to spray out the dirty #2's before going in the wetbag. happy wife = happy life.

RE: burner igniter switch

when you click the sparker, are you seeing the spark? I had this problem once and I lifted up the lid on the stove to expose the burner tubes and stuff and one of the sparker wires had come disconnected from that burner. plugged it back in and was back in business.

RE: Tacky lights/party lights

We have a string to go along with our Parrot head theme. Our string has tiki heads, palm tree's, margarita glasses, and parrot's. They're not super bright. We have rope light that borders our carpets. At night, we turn off the tacky lights, but leave the rope light on as our 'night light'.
I'm always on the look out for something to add to our string.

RE: portable ice maker

I have a Magic Chef one, got it for xmas last year from my parents, so for the price, I'm ahead of the game! They have one as well, very nice to have an endless supply of ice for the coolers/cocktails.
Sits on our dinette cushion when we travel (takes 30 seconds to load/unload when packing up, hardly frustrating.
When we setup camp, we have a small table outside under the awning, the ice maker goes there. cooler under the table.

RE: Gas prices

Gasbuddy's facebook page predicted the spike yesterday for MI/IN/WI. possible spike for IL as well. I tanked up both vehicles this morning. All our smart phones have the gasbuddy.com & FB app on them. Very handy when we need to fuel.

RE: How hot is too hot?

I also agree with closing the bunk end curtains during the day. PUGS/space blankets are a must. We have a couple small 8" fans we can move around to get additional air circulation in the trailer. I also cycle between the down blast A/C use and the ducted ceiling to even things out.
Having a plug in volt meter to show you what the power draw is on the CG power grid. I have a 50 amp dog bone and when the power dips down on the 30 am circuits, I sometimes switch to the 50 am circuits and see how the draw is on that part of the grid.

RE: Removing the Sliding A.B.S. Storage Tray ???

my in laws removed it because it didn't have access panels for turning on/off lp tanks and for pulling the battery fuse. Got to be more of a PITA than it was worth. Plus one of the rubber hold down straps broke too. sold it with the trailer when they got rid of it.
yeah having the sliding tray out freed up more usable space because the sliding tray wasn't really square/rectangle, being able to use totes/bins was a better use of space and kept things more organized.

RE: Removing the Sliding A.B.S. Storage Tray ???

my in laws had one in their S-17 and it was the first thing we removed, second was the fiberglass LP tank/battery cover. the drawer is a nice concept, but the shape of it is hardly worth the trouble. Much easier to remove it and use bins/totes for gear (hoses, etc).
IIRC, it slid out and a couple screws removed the rail system.

RE: Palomino S-17?

I saw posted on Palomino's FB page on Wednesday that they have a new floor plan coming for the Stampede S-172. Looks like it is a much better use of space than the previous cramped S-17
