RE: What to set acumulator tank pressure to?

To set it accuratly you need to know the "kick in" pressure of the pump. For best performance, the accumulator should be set to 2 psi below the kick in pressure of the pump. A little lower will not hurt too much, but you do not want it higher than that.

RE: Black tank ruptured on the 5th parked next to me

Possibly they were backflushing the tank to rinse it. If you overfill the tank with a flusher it is possible to burst the tank. These large flat tanks will not withstand any pressure. The tank often bursts before the water rises to the top of the vent. There is at least one or two posts of that happening every year. Sometimes it even bulges and ruins the floor above the tank.

RE: UPDATE!! it's not the water pump - no water hot side

As btd35 said you probably have a stuck check valve. Some have it on the inlet and many others have it on the outlet of the heater.

RE: Overfilling sani-flush?

You are lucky your tank didn't burst. There have been posts of split tanks, bulged floors, etc from over filling. These flat tanks will not withstand any pressure. For example a 20 x 60 in 30 gallon tank has 1200 sq in flat top and bottom. That means only one psi would put 1200 pounds of force on the top and bottom. That would buldge or burst it. The vent will not save it since the pressure will increase 1 psi every 2 feet the water rises.

RE: Water Heater Winterizing

If it is an Atwood WH with a plastic plug, it is 7/8". If Suburban with the anode rod it is 1 1/16".

RE: hot water heater mixing valves

For those that don't know, some of the new water heaters heat the water to a much higher temperature then have a mixing valve to blend in cold so you get about 10 gal of normal hot water with a 6 gal tank.
To the OP, is it possible that the anti-freeze is not getting to the valve? Have never had one of these so not sure what procedure is required during winterizing.

RE: Left Directional triggering the right light also

Check for a bad ground on the left TT light. When you have a bad ground, power can backfeed through other bulbs and cause odd things like you are seeing.

RE: hot water tank

You can also get the plugs at any plumbing supply - Home Depot, etc. The head may be shaped differently, but the thread is still 1/2" pipe thread.

RE: hot water plug update

If you are talking about the drain plug in a Atwood water heater, it is a 1/2" National Pipe Thread. Granted the opening is nearly 3/4" in diameter, but it is NOT a 3/4" NPT. Pipe sizing is based on the inside diameter, and not the outside diameter.

RE: Question about A/C wiring on a 1995 Fleetwood Southwind

It is also possible to have a very weak connection somewhere. It will show voltage on a meter which draws next to no current. As soon as a load is applied, the voltage will drop to zero. I would tighten all connections in the circuit involved.

RE: Suburban 10 Gal Water Heater Noise

It probably is the check valve in the line at the water heater exit. These have a habit of making noise. It won't hurt anything - just annoying. They are not expensive and easy to replace if you have easy access to the back of the heater where the lines connect.

I used to leave the plug out until one time I had a wasp nest inside. Once you have smelled cooked wasp nest you will never leave the plug out again.

RE: Towing question for you TT experts

With that setup I would never tow in OD. In OD the torque converter cluth will be unlocked more than it is locked. While it is unlocked it as generating a lot of heat and that is why the temp is so high.

RE: What does a slide weigh?

A lot of the extra weight of a unit with a slide is in the deeper frame required. A lot of trailers that were built without a slide had a 6" frame. With a slide they need a 10 to 12" frame because the slide rails must pierce the frame. You can't put a 3" hole through a 6" frame and have adequate strength.

RE: Water regulator sound?

The check valves on the fresh water inlet are notorious for getting noisy. It won't hurt anything, but is annoying. All you can do is replace it - not very expensive and easy to do.

I think the fuel gauge has low resistance when full so if the wire to it is shorted to ground it will always read full.
