RE: Air ride for motorhome

I had a 2001 National Tropi-Cal on a Ford chassis. I installed the Firestone air bags on the rear and it improved the ride. I did not install a compressor, I ran the air lines to the wheel well and aired them up there. I did have to cut some plate from the frame, did not effect the strength of the chassis.
Have fun!!
What pressure were you running when you started to see ride improvement? What was the improvement?
Thanks

RE: Air ride for motorhome

Perfect timing-
I have a 2006 W22 chassis that I am installing Firestone Air Bags next Monday.
I already installed the compressor and control valves w/ remote control. Chassis shop will install the bags and run the air lines.
Also installing Koni FSD's at the same time.
Have previously installed front and rear sway bars, front and rear track bars and a safety+. That really helped in the handeling.
Installed a Banks system that improved performance up grades.
Now looking to smooth out the ride. Will post results after testing.

RE: Where to buy new pleated front curtains???

Have you looked at the "Pleated Windshield Wrap"? This is what we plan to replace our curtains with. CW sells them as I am sure others do as well.

RE: Light switches

If you have the same hutch as we do in our PA, the left switch is for the lights at the top of the hutch. The right is for the hall way. Dennis is correct on the removal of the cover. Try removing one of the hall covers first to get a feel for it as working in that close area of the hutch can be hard if the covers are on extremely tight like ours were.

A friend has a 2000 Four Winds Windsport. 36'. It has a Ford V-10. Can anyone tell me what chassis this might have? Any recall to be aware of?

RE: 1999 Damon Daybreak - plumbing work

I would think the city water would run to the fresh water tank, not the bathroom. I would also think that it would all be underneath the RV going to the fresh water tank.
Then from the pump to the inside of the RV.

Should be a switch on the dash near the fan and gen switch. Second from the right I think. Left of the radio park switch.

RE: Inverter install

Can it be installed using the existing receptacles?
Yes. You need to figure out what breakers you want on the inverter. I have everything except the AC and Microwave on our 2000W PSW

RE: Motorhome Fire

It would be interesting to see how an extended warranty company that had coverage for a "Non covered part damage due to covered part failure" clause would react in the event of a total loss of an RV due to refer failure and fire.

RE: Residential Refer

JimGo and KDK....
I am also looking at replacing my NDR1292. What Samsung model did you use as a replacement? I am having difficulty finding a replacement as short as the Dometic unit and want to do as little cabinet remodeling as possible.

RE: Residential Refer

The Dometic NDR 1292 is not on the recall list. Dometic only recalled certain refrigerator model numbers: NDR1062, RM2652, RM2662, RM2663, RM2852, RM2862, RM3662, RM3663, RM3862, RM3863. I've had my NDR 1292 checked several times by a couple RV Service Centers, and have been told each time that it's not on the recall list.
Also, Norcold recalled certain 1200, 1201, 1210 and 1211 model gas/electric refrigerators.
Dometic's web site says the NDR 1292 fridge weights 280 lbs.
Thanks Andy- Still too many recalls with these type of refers to feel safe about. The Samsung I am looking at is 235 LBS.

How does everyone keep the contents from coming out? The Dometic has little braces that fold up.

RE: Got a Smart Light for Christmas

I agree. Hook it up to a battery and sse what happens. Easy install. I tried doing it at dusk and fought with too long of wires and getting sealant all over me and the wires; my fault, not the lights.
Got a link to the scare light?
