RE: Tow Vehicle Windshield Cover - Need Suggestions

I've always felt covers cause more problems then they solve, dirt an grit get under them and act as sand paper on the surface they lay on. Then it rains and you now have wet sandpaper.

RE: sell fixer-upper 5er or fix it first - Oregon Coast

What is the low NADA price for the unit? As an example it's worth 5,000 to fix floor 2,500 now to get your money out of it you need to sell for 7,500. Or sell it for the low book price of 5,000 so your out 2,500 to get the low book price.
Or do you take the loss and sell it for 2,500 you come out with the same money in pocket. Or you can ask some where between high and low let them talk you down because of damage and maybe come out with more.

RE: How to use Generator

Why are all you people telling her to plug into a hot plug. Even when plugging into the power post you should turn off the power post breaker before plugging in. Then after plugging in turn the breaker back on. Every time you plug or unplug a hot socket you cause sparking on the metal parts of the plug and socket which causes pitting and makes for a bad plug which over time will cause heat and start melting plug ends.

RE: Power Gear Slide help

Look for a sheered roller pin in each gear at each rail. Also check the tubes that connect the gears to the motor, if your is like mine the tubes have nuts and bolts holding them together some times these also break or fall out check them also.

RE: 30 amp service in garage

JUST make sure if you have someone put it in for you that's for RV 30 amp 110 and not a dryer plug which would be 220. Has happened in the past when the elec. put it in.

RE: Pulling my hair out talking to India!!!!!!!

When they answer in India ask to speak to the supervisor, be polite tell them you want to speak to some one in USA. They will transfer you back to USA. If enough people did it maybe the jobs will come back. Tell them you have a hearing problem and can't understand them in India. Works for me

RE: Buying first TT or Maybe Class C

If you get a Class C how are you going to get around after the C has be set up. Do you already have something to pull a TT in the size you are looking at?? With a TT with a bedroom and bunk beds you would have your own area for sleeping. And who ever went with you would have there own sleeping area, and an area for there things (top bunk).
I'd look for used so if it doesn't work out you are not out a lot and you can still use it for the family.

RE: new to direct TV

You will probably want HD for the house. but I don't know if you want or need HD for the RV. That will be your call. If you don't go HD for the RV I find it easier to find the sat. as I only need to find one with directv.
If you don't go HD for the RV then I would get a separate stand alone box for the office etc. Then when you go on a trip you just take this box from the office and put in in the RV. The extra box goes for about 6.00 a mo.
I use the TV cable that came with my rig and the picture is fine for me. I'm sure others will have there ideas. But you asked for input and this is mine.

RE: Impact wrenches

It's only 140 Lbs do it by hand. Just get a long breaker bar and extension for the duals. Haven't needed anything more in the 12 years I've had mine and I repack wheels every 2 years whether it needs it or not.

RE: Cargo doors

There is a list some where on the site that has a list of RV salvage yards, that may have what you need. I think any glass shop that works with MH should be able to get you a windshield.

RE: Same slide shear bolt broke again! Questions for you.

Mite also check and see if the hole is egg shaped have heard this is also hard on the slide bolts. The fix is to re-drill the holes 1 size larger with a larger bolt.

RE: I think I've got the answer

Should not be run off level on either propane or elec.. Off level the gas turns back to a liquid in the bends of the coils and causes a blockage.

RE: Chassis Battery

On most MH (gas) the starting batt. is only charged when the engine is running. The starting batt. powers among other things, starter , steps, back up camera, some cigarette lighter ports, hard wired smoke and propane alarms, etc. you need to look into a Trik-L-Start unit to keep the starting charged while hooked to shore power.

RE: A/C units

Your rig is probably wired for 30 amp service so you can only run one A/C at a time. In my rig I have 2 thermostats one is in the hall and is for the furnace and front A/C. The other is in the bed room and is only for the bedroom A/C. So just try running 1 A/C at a time and see if one or both work but with 30 AMP only one at a time will work.
