RE: What do you do in the winter with the batteries?

I make sure that they are charged up. Then, Diconnect but leave them in the camper.

RE: It's going to be a VERY long weekend!

I guess I'm not "too good" to hang out with fulltimers and weekend campers. When I head out, I like to make the best of it. If you make up your mind that it will be miserable, then it will be.

RE: Anyone camping at the Iowa Corn 250

Yep, We will be there all weekend. We have three spot together and plan to pull the campers in on Thursday night and probably won't head home until Monday morning. Do you have reserved camping spots at the speedway?

RE: Fridge problems

Does the inside of the fridge smell like ammonia? Typically, When the cooling unit goes out you will have the smell.

RE: Site Courtesy or I am being grumpy

I'm with you on this. I don't have a huge problem cutting thru if you are going to be friendly and chat. But, what I cannot stand is when people cut thru and act like you are in their way. We went out the weekend before Memorial day and will be out the weekend after, I don't mind missing out on the holiday weekend.

RE: Getting water to the TT - need creative suggestions

Go to Tractor supply and buy a plastic tank, 60-80 gallon, whatever you could haul. Get a 12 volt transfer pump, fittings, tubing and hook it up and pump water into your holding tank. Problem solved.:B Steve This would also be my suggestion, for a tank. I would imagine that you would get enough flow that you would not need a transfer pump.

RE: hard start capacitor for ac

I started to install an spp6 capacitor on my duotherm 15k ac this afternoon but i got confused. there are two capacitors on my unit, a large one with three leads and a smaller one with two leads. I think the large one is the run capacitor. I THINK i should parralel the spp6 across the smaller capacitor with only two leads. has anyone installed one of these before? any help would be appreciated. I did my 11K BTU Duo Therm. The large one will have three leads and IS the run capacitor. The small one is significantly smaller and is the start capacitor. I replaced the smaller (black) start capacitor with the SP unit. I also replaced the small ceramic PTC since I put in the "E" model run capacitor. Not sure if yours has the PTC built into it or if you tie into the current PTC already in the system. Dan Last Saturday I did mine just exactly as Dan mentioned. Took less than 5 minutes to do. Yamaha 2400 runs my 13.5K unit perfect. John

RE: new to the 5th wheel club

The biggest thing when backing into a campsite it to not get in a hurry. Take your time and if you have to pull out a few times and start over, no big deal. In no time he will be an expert at it.

RE: Suburban Water Heater

90% of the time I run off electric. Every place that we camp, electric is included. You will want to make sure that the hot water heater has water in it before you turn the electric element on. Otherwise, you will burn it up immediately.

RE: Satellite recevier question

If you aren't getting power to the meter and you replaced the cables, make sure that you don't have the input and output mixed up.

RE: Yamaha 2400iS vs 2800

I think you will find that there is a BIG difference in 8db. I love my 2400, but still wish that it was a little more quiet. I can sit out side with the 2400 running, without my head pounding. However, At 67db it the noise will be enough to drive you crazy.

RE: wanted to go camping but

We went out for out first time last weekend. It was great to be out. I had left the pink stuff in and just carried water jugs with us. We took lots of firewood with us. We had 3 campers in the group with out and had the entire park to ourselves.

RE: Camping in Iowa

When you are in Grinnell, I would recommend Rock Creek State Park. I think this is one of the best State Parks in Iowa. The the staff there is extremely friendly.

RE: Another victim of split flooring - some questions...

Have you talked with your dealer? You mention that you have 2008, which should a year manuf. warranty. I would wee if they will handle it.

RE: LCD TV

Direct bright sun can overpower the color of a matt finish LCD but you won't get the mirror reflections like you get off a glass CRT. There are some glass like LCD screens that will mirror reflect. I'm thinking of Samsung but only in the large 42"+ screens. I agree. I switched out my tube and am much happier with the LCD.
