RE: my first RV Boo Boo

well it took me 5 years but I got my first RV boo boo today. Pulling out of the garage to do some maintenance....forgot to close the rear basement compartment. CRUNCH!!! At least only the door was damaged and my RV shop is already ordering the new door. Something was bound to happen sooner or later. The more comfortable you get with the rig the more you overlook little things before you start to roll. click here for picture of boo boo
That should buff right out.
that would be one BIG buffer

RE: my first RV Boo Boo

OUCH! Just makes ya wanna cry don't it. I have yet to have a major boo boo, but it's only a matter of time.
Hope it doesn't cost ya too much to get it fixed.
Dave
Only have a $63 deductible so i should be fine. My first incident in 5 years of ownership and coverage so i wouldn't expect any rate increase. I must be mellowing in my mid forties...because after a couple of choice words...calmed down and started to laugh with my son about how stupid that was.

RE: Pressure Washing.

I use a 2500psi pressure washer everytime I wash the RV. Adjust the wand so it isn't full on and stand back a little bit. It works great and it is so easy. I had the RV in for service today and the technician said he was surprised at the problem I had on such a new coach...I told him the coach is 5 years old and has 40,000 miles on it. He thought it was brand new....

RE: Need help.My KVH,L2 in-motion stopped working.

it is definitely a low voltage condition. The unit is locked onto a wrong satellite which is why you have the 3 blinks of the led. It happens to me from time to time and if restarting the receiver doen't work, I then pull the cable from the back of the switch and fire up the generator. the generator gives the boost to the 12v batteries. I wait a couple minutes, hook it all back up and off it goes.

Rear A/C not blowing cold

I noticed today that the rear A/C does not seem to be blowing cold air. I went on the roof and took off the cover. With the unit running the high pressure side off the compressor does not get real hot and the low pressure is not real cold at all. Would seem to indicate the compressor is not coming on. We are hooked up to 30A service instead of 50A but the EMS system usually cycles between the 2 a/c units. The unit was working fine last week. Any thoughts?

RE: Had reinstall the old pump again....sigh

What failed, the electric or the mechanical portion?? Don't forget that it requires higher current than the regular style pumps and needs a 10A latching relay in the electrical line to work correctly.
Started to get hot and kick out from thermal overload. According to Shurflo only needs the 10A latching relay if there was a lower rated latching relay in the circuit already. When i told Shurflo the symptoms of the failure...he cut me off and said yup, it's a pump failure...sounds like he has heard this same failure many timesCheck with Winnebago and I think you will find a 5A or 7.5A latching relay in the water pump circuit, or some manufacturers use none at all and then the undersized wire will be the culprit and cause the motor to over heat. If you replace it, just spend the extra few dollars and install the 10A latching relay to forestall more problems.
I don't see any relay in the water pump compartment. I will go in search of after I look at the circuit diagram. My guess is I would have to find and uninstall the 5 or 7.5A relay to install the 10A.

Had reinstall the old pump again....sigh

So about a month ago I purchased and installed a brand new Shurflo EXTREME 5.7 water pump. It was great!!! water pressure like I was home. My daughter and my wife looked at me in a whole new light...I was a hero and I wanted this feeling to last forever....Alas on the second trip out with my new wonder pump it failed:(...My shinning star had faded and I was no longer the hero. I went from hero to zero with one failed pump!! I called Shurflo and they will replace the pump under warranty BUT I won't have the new pump until Aug 3rd or so. Thank God I kept the old pump. Tonight I had to break down and reinstall the old pump. So a lesson learned....save the old pumps and other tossed aside accessories as you never know when they will be called into duty once again...

Sureflow Extreme 5.7gpm

I installed this pump about 2 months ago and we LOVE it. The water pressure is fantastic of the original. Today we are prepping for a trip and I noticed the water pump wouldn't come on. I cycled the switch and opened the faucet and it came on. So I left the switch on and went about my business. Came back a little while later(about 10 min) and opened the faucet and again no water. Pump switch was on. i cycled it waited a couple of minutes and it started working again. Opened up the panel and checked all of the connections to the switch...opened the DC fuse panel and checked those connections. Then I checked the pump and it was very hot to the touch. It must be going through a thermal shutdown. Any thoughts??? Thanks. BTW...I kept the old pump just in case....hope I don't have to use it.

RE: Help - Trying to Remove Front TV on Winnebago

As said...look in the two cabinets on either side of the TV. There are screws that attach the wood frame to the cabinet. Remove those and the cover will drop down.

RE: Rear View Cameras, part of your driving vision?

when I am towing, the only way to see if the toad is clear for lane change is by the rear view camera. I can't even see the toad in the mirrors at all if I am traveling straight.
