My mother has had one since the 40's and when it quit a few years ago she got brushes for it and put them in her self. She said that is the second time she had to do it but the old Hamilton Beach works better then the replacement Dad got her. Maybe you should take it to a repair shop and have it fixed.
The numbers look like you were checking the mileage on my X. Empty is the same but if I drop down to 65 I can get 9 MPG on a good day.
