RE: Greenball Tires, and my Nightmare...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA. How about 13 years of towing toy haulers and seeing my buddies with holes in their floors from Carlisle tires..... No thanks. They are ALL junk, I don't care how new the design is.

Again-your buddy's tires of so-and so years ago were made different than today.
It's foolish to think companies don't improve their products. Fords blew up, and caught fire at one time, Toyotas had sudden accleration,-you see what I mean?
Here is my 2 cents.
Carlisle is a Chinese company that has no incentive to make their product better. They have the market cornered on the new trailers. The new trailer industry gobbles up their junk tires and puts them on their trailers and sells them to unsuspecting people that have no idea what they are getting into. Why should they change?? This has been going on for years! They dont care!

RE: Offroad boots

Hmmm I tired the Alpinestar Tech3 boots and did not seem to think they would work. Do you think the Tech 7 boots are a bit different??
I will look at Sidi but $500 is a bit pricy. I think the most I am willing to pay (for Comfort) is $350.
Still looking.
Thanks

RE: Offroad boots

I really like the protection of the Offroad boot so I am going to go that route. I just dont want or need an ankle injury at this point in my life.
I will look at Gaerne, O'Neal and HiPoint. Magnum, do they make an offroad boot??
Thanks for the input!

Offroad boots

I am buying a dual sport motorcycle in the next 6 months and am looking at accessories. I have tried some boots on and am having a bit of a problem. In my older age my feet have grown wider and the boots I have tried on fit tight in the sides. No one makes a wide size. The guy at the store recommended Fox Comp 5 boots because the foot bed is more cushy. So my question is what is your experience with offroad boots with wide foot.
Thanks

RE: Genny Station Fill Hose Replacement

I used Permatex RTV Ultra Black sealant. I doesn't look very pretty but it does the trick.

RE: Peace of mind no more!

Hello FalconChief,
Thank you for letting us know about the terrible experience you had while traveling. This is not the type of service that we expect our members to receive. I have forwarded this to our Roadside Assistance Team. Someone will be in contact with you soon about this.

RE: Landing gear problem ... what do I need to replace?

the double motor won't fix your problem if it is internal to the landing gear leg.I will say I did have one leg go bad. But the symptoms described go along with a single gear box having to lift to much weight and clicking. The symptom of a bad leg is it will seize up and not go up or down.

Yeah just watch as you raise the trailer to make sure that there is weight on both legs as you raise the trailer. Its not as hard as it sounds.

RE: Landing gear problem ... what do I need to replace?

It was as easy as jacking the trailer up with a bottle jack, supporting with a jackstand, and removing the one leg and installing the replacement leg. Or you can hook your truck up and remove the leg. I found more room to do the job using a bottle jack method.
only 2 bolts to remove the leg.

RE: Direct TV Dish for TH

Go automatic! I purchased a Motosat dish a few years back after I had a hard time finding the satellites with my tripod setup. My wife complained at me one to many time about being out there for an hour while I was missing the Nascar race. The cost was $1500 I think. I am happy with the setup. My only problem is if I am parked under trees then I can not get signal.
I have been seeing that Winegaurd has come out with a portable antena that you just set on the ground plug it in and away you go. it is $449. this looks fairly reasonable to me. You also dont need to worry about trees since you can set it any place you want.

RE: Greenball Tires, and my Nightmare...

This is the one I used even though I have 6k axels.Triple axle kit
I have 7k axles... but will send them a email to see if it will fit mine.. looks like it will.
Was it easy to install... looks pretty straight forward?
Yes, that will fit yours but spend a few xtra bux to get the one with HD shackle links, wet bolts and brass bushings.
I'm going to put this on my tri-axle)Oops!! That is the one that I used.

RE: Greenball Tires, and my Nightmare...

One other thing you might look into is an upgrade on your suspension. Your current equalizers are a weak link. I installed an EZ Flex kit on mine after one of mine broke.

RE: Greenball Tires, and my Nightmare...

Upgrading rims and tires is a hard pill to swallow, especially with the price of rubber these days.
I'm sorry for your troubles, but your story is exactly why I spent the money. NOT what I, or anybody would chose to do on vacation. I hope they cover your losses fully !
I have been considering this as a option in going to 16" wheels with a Load G tire....If you do get a good aluminum rim. I bought cheap steel rims (made in china) and I am having problems with them now.
