RE: Non Commercial A Test - Help

A question to every one who has taken the pre-trip test. I have seen someone on this forum say that they marked every thing that needed to be checked with those stick on dots. Has any one left the dots on while taking the actual test?? What could the DMV say??

RE: Dexter EZ Flex for triple axle.

Well, just found two of my rear shackles broken. Was supposed to pull out for dunes tomorrow but not looking like that is going to happen. Awesome post here.
Any tips to doing this that will make the install easier? Seems fairly straight forward.
So jack up one side, support with jack stands, take the three tires off, and then use two jacks to get everything lined up or do you need three? Then repeat on other side.
Should I expect any additinal hassles since my axels were flipped?

http://inlinethumb30.webshots.com/46301/2794094170045816922S600x600Q85.jpgThere was a question about bump stops. Having flipped axles you might need longer ones.
Having put the kit on my triple axle monster I think the only thing I would have done differently is do both side at the same time. I had a heck of a time getting things to line up because the axles were attached on the other side. It might be easier with only 2 axles though. Good luck!!

RE: Goodyear, San Angelo Texas

I keep reading about Chinese made tires, Lawton,Ok USA, has a huge Goodyear plant. Wonder where these USA made tires are going? :hThe tires coming from that plant are passenger car and LT tires. The DOT does not regulate trailer tires as much so manufactures have them made in china to save money.

RE: Hauling Jeep or Samurai in a 30' Ragen 5er

The main limiting factor is not so much the floor load, but the door/ramp load limit. Not really. most TH I have seen come with a 3000 LB door. My whole Jeep is never completely on the door so not really an issue.

RE: water tank

When I bought my TH there was an option to make my TH a cold weather unit. I think all they do is add corrugated plastic to all the tanks and take a duct from the furnace to the tanks. I'm sorry I did not have this done when I bought the trailer. I think I amy call the dealer to see how much it would cost to have it done now.

RE: TOY HAULER MAGAZINE

No more magazines? - great, here comes the next mod -I'll have to mount a laptop and get satellite internet acces in the throne room to have something to read!!!!! :BTMI!!
As stated above, I feel paper magazines are on there way out. My father in law (he is 90) sits and reads the LA Times every morning. What would happen if it went away? I dont think he will run out and get a PC to do it. Kind of sad.
Would you subscribe to an online version of TH Mag or other of your favorite mag?? I might for $10 a year.

RE: Hauling Jeep or Samurai in a 30' Ragen 5er

I haul my 4300lb jeep in my triple axle TH. When I first started I tried to make my F250 do it and I was disappointed. The brakes were inadequate and the transmission constantly over heated. I'm glad I sold the truck before any thing bad happened to it.
I have seen a lot of people haul Zukes in their TH's.

Have you checked the code?? Mine is a 5.5 and if there is a problem a code will flash on the red light on the switch telling you what the problem is.

RE: Dexter EZ Flex for triple axle.

Great pics, thank you. My hangers are shaped like this. This guy said he had to locate to the bottom hole.
http://i35.tinypic.com/2i1z5w6.jpgThis install is mine. I had to use the lower holes because the yoke on the front equalizer would hit the top of the hanger. I am in the middle of our first long trip with the new tires and suspension. It did raise the trailer about 3 inches. I have had no problems to speak of. I have not put the Jeep in the trailer yet to know how it handle that.

RE: TH Storage cover

It takes me about 30 mins to put mine on. I have a 37 footer. The biggest problem I have had with mine was I have many sharp edges on my trailer and I would catch the cover on them and RIPPPPPP!
I now have a system when I install Mine. I store my cover in a large plastic garbage can with a good fitting lid. I set the garbage can in front of the ladder and pull the front end of the cover up while I climb the ladder. I then lay the cover out on top of the TH. I then start at the front of the trailer and spread it out over the sides moving toward the back.
