RE: Adding leaf spring for cargo capacity?

look for a truck with a 10,000lb rating in a half ton. To much is better than not enough. What's the pin weight, a place to start, gear ratio for rear end. 3:73 would be best for this type of hauling. Look at the whole package not what the sales person says you can do. Been their made many mistakes.

RE: Setting up my Reece Dual Cam to a F250

You will be amazed at the power. I pull a 9000lb trailer with lift on it in CO. It does a nice job with fuel economy that surprised me. 13 to 14 on flats. 10 to 11 in the mountians. Just a real surprize over the 6.0 and the 6.4. Have the 3:73 in the rear, this truck is also 4X4.

Generators

Whats everyone using for generator power? In the mountians don't really need one BUT in the southern portion of the west I will require air I think. 5er is 30 amp. Remember Budgit.

RE: Marine batteries

Wow sounds like a tire Question. Thanks for the Imput. Will take the readings from the 1 battery before I go any further. With the fridge running and limited use of other things. Baby steps. Only have so mch in budget to work with. Still trying to win the Lottery.

RE: Marine batteries

Have worked around alot of 6 V batteries because of the Magnets on Cranes. Never thought of the 6V with the rving industry. Will look futher into the 6 volt. Just know it has a longer life. Just wondering about the other aspects amp hr with the equipment that I want to run. Thanks would really appreciate any other info from experience out in the Wilds. Kevin

Marine batteries

Went dry camping in the mountians of CO for the first time. Found that the current battery was weak. Generator broke down. Used as little of the battery power as possible. Q? If I can find marine batteries with 800 or more cca wired in series would I really need a generator? Being consevative like this. Maybe heat for 20 or 30 min?

RE: pickup bed cover

Have a truxedo cover on the truck for 4 yrs. Falling apart wind lifted cover off bed, ended on the roof of cab left 2 large dents in top. NOT happy with the cover at all, replacing shortly.
