RE: Warning Regarding Extended Service Plan

I would be interested to read the "exclusions". I'll bet if you read your exclusions you'll find something that would explain their denial.
I also agree this is a maintenance problem more than mechanical breakdown. That's not to say it was your neglect, but the issue with the ethanol gas. We learned a while back to use non ethanol gas for our lawn mowers, boat motors and small engines. It's hard to find and with a motorhome, probably impossible to do. Another unintended consequence of ethanol gas.
BTW...we're dealing with the bio-diesel unintended consequences as well.
Good luck, but read the exclusions.

RE: TT on Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive??

We have a large MH, and park it in the foothills and drive the car on the Blue Ridge. There aren't a lot of places for fuel unless you get off and drive a long way.

RE: Question about Eternabond

We just used regular scissors and they are usually worthless after using them on the eternabond. We overlapped the corners and rolled it down as best we could.

RE: Bio diesel.....yes or no

In Florida when I was at flying j pump, there was 15 % and 20% biodiesel...I used the 15% and then drove home and have had two tanks since then...just burn it off and fuel up with good old diesel as soon as humanly possible.
The problem with that theory is that it seems no one is carrying the ULSD anymore. We just called the Flying J that we normally use near Tampa and they now only carry biodiesel.

Bio diesel.....yes or no

We have a 2003 Monaco MH with a 370 Cummins ISL engine.
We understood that bio diesel was not to be used in this engine.
On our last trip to the Florida Keys, we noticed the stations we usually stop to fill have only Biodiesel and no longer carry the Ultra low sulphate diesel.
We had no choice but to top off the tank with bio-diesel and had no problems but we only put in about 25 gallons. It appears more stations are switching to bio-diesel.
We called two Cummins service centers and got two different answers.
One said bio-diesel would cause many more repairs and there were no additives that would help.
One said it was okay, but to not let it sit in the tank too long, He said an additive called "Fuel Prep" made by Penray was helpful.
so, which is it?
Any ideas?
It appears that biodiesel is here to stay and ULSD is on the way out.

How about Sarasota. It's on the Gulf coast which is completely different than what you're used to. There is a lot to see and do. The Sun N fun Resort is very nice.

RE: Clicking noise from inverter control panel

Update..
It turns out the clicking noise from the remote sensor to the inverter was bad. It was covered by our extended warranty.
The burning smell turned out to be something else. One of the flourescent ligths had a burned wire and the entire light had to be replaced. Also covered by insurance.

RE: RV Insurance

An auto policy is for an automobile....not really the best choice for an Rv.
Keep in mind all the things you have in an Rv that would not be covered under an "auto" policy. Things like clothing, computers, gps, refrigerator, lawn chairs, tools... Say your Rv burns down. You would have to file one claim under the "auto" policy and another under your homeowners insurance for all the personal contents. 2 deductibles and twice as much hassle.
Get a policy specifically for rv's is my best (ex insurance adjuster and agent) advice.
We use USAA for the cars (best company out there), but National Interstate for the motorhome. It allows me to specify how much coverage I want for our personal contents.

RE: Renting your personal travel trailer

Your personal insurance company wouldn't cover it to be used for rentals. You'd have to find some sort of commercial policy. If you rented it out without notifying your insurance company, and the renters caused injury to some innocent person, then you would be liable. If it came back damaged, your insurance company would likely deny the claim.

RE: Clicking noise from inverter control panel

Update from OP
The clicking noise started again, fortunately while we're still here at Lazy Days. The Tech had another panel that he plugged in and the clicking stopped. He thinks the panel went bad. It's an expensive little part...almost $400! Hoping the extended warranty covers it.

Clicking noise from inverter control panel

We have a 2003 Monaco Windsor Diesel.
Yesterday I heard a clicking noise coming from the panel in the front of the coach. I don't know what this panel is called but it's connected to the inverter. You can get the reading of the volts on the battery and it usually says "float Charging."
A little while later I smelled a burning smell coming from the rear of the coach, by the dryer (which was running).
That made me nervous. Long story short, the burning smell was coming from a shorted out fluorescent light in the rear...not the dryer or inverter.
The clicking noise continued and occasionally I would hear a very faint beeping noise coming from the panel.
We brought the coach in to Lazy Days Service center.
The clicking noise quit and hasn't started up again and the tech has no idea what caused it.
I don't know whether to worry or not. All seems to be running just fine and the light fixture has been changed out. We have at least determined the cause of the burning smell.
Any ideas??

RE: South Florida in Feb. suggestions?

Sun n Fun
Sunshine Key, Big Pine Key, Florida
The further south, the more expensive but the better the weather. My first choice is the Keys, but it's very expensive....but oh so worth it.
Blue Water Key, Key West
Bonita Beach Rv Resort
Fort Desoto County Park, St Pete Florida
Red coconuts, Fort Myers Beach
Paradise Point, Naples
Here are a few I can think of. I'm not sure they meet all your criteria, but are all nice parks. Pricey but nice.

RE: slide-out leaking--any ideas?

We have an 03 Monaco Windsor. The slide seals have all been replaced but we still got a leak.
Our two slides are on the drivers side, so we try to angle the coach a little bit to the left. The water seems to run away from the coach instead of into the coach. We don't have a problem as long as we are leaning a tad left. Not the perfect solution, but it works for us.
DH also sprayed some water sealant on the tops of the awning covers. They had lost their water repellent ability and that really seemed to keep water from leaking through the slide topper onto the top of the slide.

RE: Florida Gulf Shores Area & Keys Parks

If your going to spend time in the keys there is only ONE place I would pick......Blue Water Key RV resort. Mile marker 14, the absolute best of the best for big rigs.
We have spent 2-3 months in Florida for the last 8 years and usually pick 3-4 resorts to stay in.
Our favorites are...
Bryn Mawr-St. Augustine (a little cool up there but this is an ocean front resort.
Signature Resort-Naples
Blue Water Key-Key West
I agree about Bluewater....but oh how expensive it is!

We used Mop n glow because we were getting white streaks running down the side of the coach. A lot of people are using Red Max Pro bought from Lowes.
