'94 Chevy front end (suspension)

Climbed under the MH last spring, grabbed the tie rods and give them a shake--found them very loose... so I replaced them... both sides, both ends and the threaded tie-rod shaft. I'm still getting some 'shudder' when going over stutter-bumps, how do I go about checking the rest of the front end (ball joints, A-arms, pitman arm, etc)? Many years ago, I had a mechanic friend jack up the front of my GMC van and place a pry-bar between... heck, I don't remember... and say, "See, yer idler-arm is bad"

bookdock locations -- what's good? (Colorado)

Ok... as my handle says, I'm 'challenged' when it comes to first-time things... Let me relate a recent story... We were heading, from our home in Denver, to Ridgway, CO. We were heading to "True Grit" country (John Waynes version was filmed in and around Ridgway). Just this side of Monarch pass lies County Rd 224... it looked innocuous enough on Google Maps... about 9,000', some rather tight turns but nothing a 25' coach couldn't handle... or so I thought... The turns were tight, but what wasn't shown was the stormwater 'berms' cut across the roadway... the front wheels stepped across the berm ok... the right rear wheel stepped through and as the left rear went into the berm I heard..."Ga-raunch!!" as the trailer grounded on the top of the berm... I know better than this... We weren't quite high-centered but the drive wheel would spin as I gave it power... bummer... Fortunately, it was the landing gear on our toad-trailer that had grounded... off comes the motorcycle, undo the trailer hitch and walk the (fortunately aluminum) trailer back down the hill... back the coach through the berm and head back down hill... heart racing and giddy with excitement at a disaster barely averted. So... what I'm looking for is 'guidance' at picking some boondocking sites... any resources available that would give me an inkling that I might be heading into 4WD, high clearance forest service roads. In particular, we're heading down towards the Colorado Springs/Canyon City/Pueblo area. I contacted BLM at one point... the best advice they gave me about County Road 224 was to make sure I wasn't squatting on some ranchers land... nothing about, "Wait for me at the bottom of the hill, I wanna videotape yer ascent... I could get $10,000 from AFV..." https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-3c69rsMPZ3c/T7woNAbegZI/AAAAAAAAB7Y/OiBV1fTf28s/s576/IMG_0292.jpg?gl=US
