Hmmm. "Two Scout leaders, a cub scout, and a Boy Scout?"
10 essentials comes to mind, along with the packing lists found in every Boy Scout Handbook, Webelos Handbook (if your nine-year old Cub is a Webelos), and maybe the Fieldbook.
These are what I still use when I tent camp as opposed to RVing.
A big salute from an Eagle Scout and Chartered Org Rep still active in Scouting.

Clearly, a number of threads were started in reply to the Pets-Free Campground thread.
I removed them all as, based on review, they were meant (whether intended or not) to be satire and not "real" as opposed to the Pets thread, in which the OP was serious.
Folks, again I remind you, that Beginning RVing is the initial "sandbox" for newcomers to the ORF. While you might think that these threads are loaded with "yuks and giggles" the newcomers might think that you are serious about some of these topics and wonder what kind of people they'll encounter when they get to campsites, if they behave like they post here.
The goal of the ORF is to exchange information between RVers who love this hobby, especially in this specific area. When the "newbies" become a bit more "seasoned" and see some of the responses as being "tongue in cheek" in the other areas of the forum, then they'll see some of the humor.
Light humor is one thing but, please, refrain from some of the more sarcastic, acerbic remarks in this area.

Threads about various generators have been posted from about the time the ORF has started. There was a very substantial thread on Chinese generators in the DIY and Tech areas of the forum, which included just about everything one wanted to know about from power distribution to noise levels to adaptations for sound-deadening (I even did this as a project and posted my project results a few years ago).
It seems that there will always be those who insist on the Honda/Yamaha solutions and those who insist on the Champion/Chinese solutions as the *best* solutions.
Just as with running your refrigerator on propane while traveling, there will be those falling on one side or the other.
All that we, the moderators of the forum, ask is that the posts be civil and courteous. Opinions are like armpits, everyone has at least two and they tend to smell when things get hostile.
So, please stay on topic and keep civil, or I will close the thread.
