RE: Battery size and $$$

Those prices seem pretty high compared to Sams or Costco for the same AH rating...Same has Duracells for about $80...1 yr replacement warranty

RE: Samson Tires????

I never heard of them either...and went looking for 2 cheap take offs for my toad...found Sampson Stampedes at a tire shop that were about 70% worn, put them on the car and they are quiet and smooth...about 5 years old too..

RE: straight talk

RE: Spartan hubcaps are a pain in the butt!!

It is not a cosmetic issue...I drove a total of about 30 miles to 2 different truck stops with my surviving hubcap....no go...the tabs just would not fit my wheel with its hub fingers like they are... They are on the way from Spartan

RE: Spartan hubcaps are a pain in the butt!!

I have just checked all the resources given and no one can/will match my cap... so it's Spartan by default !!

RE: Spartan hubcaps are a pain in the butt!!

I think the hubcap configuration is dependent on what kind of axle or wheel hub you have...my wheel hub fingers cause the fitting problem with equally spaced notches....it looks like I am stuck with getting gouged by Spartan...I await a call from Ideal to see if they have a match...

Spartan hubcaps are a pain in the butt!!

I just lost another front cap...spartan #0119-DD2 Went to T&A and Pilot.....spent about 20 bucks on gas trying to find some locally as others here have said they are easily available for about 8-10 dollars...not true for mine....a baby moon with an asymetrical tab layout to clear the hub wheel tab configuration...the standard 6 tab caps won't work and they are VERY thin (Chinese!)...I just noticed that someone has to modify the ones that come from Spartan, as you can see alterations on the original tabs where they have been cut and removed to make them fit...isn't THAT special:M So I will need to order them from someplace online...any suggestions besides RV chassis parts? They are about $20.50 plus shipping..

RE: Ford C-Max towability

I test drove a Cmax 2 days ago...I was VERY impressed ....it's amazingly fast off the line....roomy, quiet smooth and gets 47mpg city or hwy..about $28K...probably a disposable car when the battery needs replacing in 10 yrs...

RE: Window Tinting

I tinted my front side windows about 4 yrs ago....several of them are starting to fog, but so are alot that have not been tinted..with all my glass, a little fogging is a small price to help stay cooler

RE: Class "A's" and CB radio questions

I can never rely on the info over the cb....for example, I have been in several interstate traffic jams...turn on the cb to find out what and where the problem is....about 50% will tell you the right lane is closed...the other 50% the left lane....really useless for me...

RE: Magnet Strength for Outside Windshield Sunscreen??

I was thinking of doing the same last summer and called the owner at MagneShade to pick his brain about his magnets....he would not tell me exactly what kind he used (wonder why) but did say it's an expensive learning curve to get the right kind...I think they have to be polarized a certain way and magnetic on one side only, or something like that...then you need to determine how many and what strength to make them work correctly....and from my research, the magnets themselves are going to be really expensive to use as an 'experiment'. He said a great part of his shade price is in the magnets alone...

Doran Pressure Pro sensor batteries

My system is over 5 yrs old and I think at least one battery is starting to go...I routinely back off the sensors when parked, thinking that they only 'sleep' when there is no pressure. Is this correct or do they send periodically whether pressurized or not... Has anyone successfully opened these to replace the batteries? It appears they fit in some sort of jig to twist them open...I am at a crossroads now for either spending $400 for 8 new sensors or another $200 approx for the newer systems with replaceable batteries...trending towards the TST 507. Can anyone direct me to the best price for one of those systems...I think I remember someone was giving a trade in allowance for the Dorans not long ago...

RE: Verizon Galaxy 3 Smart Phone and Internet Questions

I just got the Verizon S3...it's a GREAT phone...tethering is free...you just use your data....my wife and I have a 2 gig data plan and after almost a month, have used less than a gig...but we are on wifi when at work or home...the 16 gig storage is a bunch, but you can add a 32 gig micro SD card for less than $20..and definitely have more than you will ever need!!
