RE: Residential Mattress. Any problem?

I put a normal queen in mine - an extra thick one. I really like it. Only problem was getting it in. It was not as flexible as the RV mattress coming out. Took two of us shoving it past the bends etc. The one in the box might be easier to get into place.

RE: Dead Battery

It may not be charging, you may have a tripped breaker or bad converter. If you are plugged in and have power, the lights should work even without a battery.

RE: Confused on LEDS

I got twenty of these. (Two orders for 10 each) I like 'em. They are exactly the same brightness and color as the 1141's they replaced (put one side by side with the 1141 and you can not tell which is which), they arrived quickly and every one of them worked. My reason for replacing them all at once is to minimize draw on the batteries while boondocking. Now if I could just find a low-current draw replacement for the furnace blower I'd be all set. Thx for the tip and link. I just ordered one set of 10. I figure I can change the first bulb of the 2 bulb fixtures to LED to try it out. When I do dry camp, I try to just use the one bulb to save energy and these LED's should save even more...... So, I bought 1 set of 10 from the link above. Decent shipping time from China. I didn't do an amperage measurement. But, I do have a light meter. I set the light meter on the counter and ambient was reading at 5 fc. Turned one old bulb on and the meter went to 17. Then I changed the bulb to the LED, turned it on and the meter went to 20. I'm happy.

That's brave. I hope they work out for you. I probabaly would have ordered a couple to try out first. Oops, grabbed the wrong response to quote....

RE: Confused on LEDS

First off, a 1141 is the same as a 1156 base. Since you have the white covers, I'd recomend these as they are only $7 and very bright. I'm using them in the same fixture in a Airstream I own. If you had the clear covers I would recomend the warm white (3000 temp), not those bright white (7000 temp). These look very interesting. I don't see lumens but otherwise I am tempted.....

RE: Hurricane Sandy --- Generator problem

Try flashing the field. On my generator the user manual says after checking breakers to ensure they are in the on postion to stop the generator. Then restart but hold the start button for a few seconds once the generator starts and this flashes the field and produces electrical power. It is worth a try and doesn't cost anything. I think this is on the right track. I had a Coleman Powermate 1500 which I had the same problem with. I tore it down to even checking the Diodes before I gave up and took it in. The tech said he hooked up a battery to it to recharge a small capaicitor used to excite the field. Not sure, but I think if you hook a twelve volt battery up to the DC output (as if you were going to charge the battery) and then start it, it may work.

RE: Confused on LEDS

It looks to me like #1 is 170 Lumens vs 48 Lumens on #2, about 3.5 times the brightness. Other than that I don't know....

RE: stupid adults bring up stupid kids

I am wondering if Blue Shirt guy actually did something to purposely provoke the Bison. He was off-camera until just before the Bison went in the direction the guy came from. I was in a parking lot in Yellowstone where some Bison were walking along pretty much just ignoring everyone. Until some brain surgeon decided to "shoo" or block a big one from where he was going. The Bison sort of raised his head and snorted with an attitude (in my opinion) like "REALLY?" - brain surgeon got smarter real quick and decided the Bison could decide where he wanted to go.........

RE: Any one use a hitch rack On the Truck for Genset?

Tha Fold a cover is really cool. Is there an attachment point in the front (cab) center? I have a fuel tank/tool box that is just flush with the rail and I'm not sure if they would interfere with each other. But it looks promising....

RE: How important is having 10 years or newer?

unfortunately the majority of parks will let anything in as long as they have the price of admission. And what's wrong with that? Camping is one of the lower cost ways for families to travel and not everyone can afford newer/nicer rigs.

RE: Has anyone purchased a generator from Yamaha generators.com?

check out this link..................clicky I bought my Tri-fuel from here. Likewise. And they state the conversions are Yamaha authorized with full nationwide factory warranty. I have not needed to test the warranty.

RE: Supco install ...unit seems hot

Now I wonder if my 2000 watt geny will work watts / volts = amps... 2000 / 120 = 16.6 amps if you can run it off a 15 amp shore circuit, there would be no reason that a 2000 watt generator can't run it... Yes, that is what I was thinking. You are forgetting the start up load is more than the full load running amps. I believe the rule of thumb is 3 times the full load amps. The 15 amp circuit can do it because the breaker has a time delay built in and a lot more capacity pushing through it keeping the voltage up. The generator 2kw (16.6a) rating is the allowance for start up loads. That is all it has to give and when you load it that much the voltage will drop off requiring more amperage. I doubt that it is enough. My Yamaha 2400 is marginal in this situation. The real test is trying it if you have one...... But, I would not plan to buy one thinking it was going to work.

The 2400 will start my AC that has had a soft-start added. But, it may not do it with other things running.

RE: Yamaha 2400IS?

RE: Supco install ...unit seems hot

I saw that on the FR forum: AC generator improvement AC fan delay Read the entire thread as the OP changed his original configeration! Thanks for the help. I put my relay in the thermostat wire, so it does not carry the motor load of the fan through the relay. Works great.

RE: Yamaha generators

I purchased my 2400 from here already converted: http://www.uscarburetion.com/ They also sell conversion kits. Their website is a bit chopped up and confusing, but you could give them a call. Mine runs fine on all three fuels. You do need to adjust the fuel mix a bit to go back and forth from propane to natural gas. It runs my 13,500 AC fine on propane.

RE: Yamaha generators

You can get a propane conversion which allows any size propane tank you want.
