RE: TST TPM System

On mine I had to replace a couple of valve cores because the tire guy tighten them too much on the new tires. Works fine now

RE: Looking to go Full-time is a Class A the answer?

There are advantages and disadvantages to either one. First and foremost look at your budget. MH is more expensive to maintain and requires that you give up your home while performing maintenance if you have to take it into the shop.
After you budget considerations look at what you plan to do. If you travel a lot the MH offers anvantages in travel confort. Sometimes we just stay in the MH at rest stops. If you plan on just traveling to a location and staying there a few months a 5er would offer more comfort. From a comfort standpoint a 5er offers more bang for the buck.
Based on my budget if I were to full time I would get me a really nice 5er. But that is just me.

RE: Dropped the fiver

Thanks for sharing. Just a reminder of what can happen.
When I had my 5th wheel I pulled into a very unlevel campsite. So I put down the jacks ok and disconnected. Then I went over to the jacks and started leveling. As the jacks come down I hear a crunch. I unkowingly lowered it on my truck. Only minordamag to my topper rails.

RE: Help!!! House batteries not charging

Yes the battery disconnect is closed. What is confusing me is why I can get 12v power to the house when plugged in to shore power but no voltage to the batteries. If the converter was bad the interior lights would not work.
With shore power unplugged and engine running, do any of the DC lights work in the MH? Bedroom Bathroom etc. Are all CB closed and are all fuses good.

RE: Help!!! House batteries not charging

Check the disconnect switches are in the right position.
If you have a seperate converter check the output on shore power with the output disconnected.
If your converter is in your fuse box assembly check the power resistor inside to make sure the resistor is not burnt or make sure it does not have cold solder joints.
Make sure you batterys have no dead cells.

RE: Electric brakes dragging question

Take a bright light and you can see the notched wheel.

RE: Electric brakes dragging question

Excellant video. The only thing I do different is put jacks on all four so I can get them all the same.

RE: Electric brakes dragging question

The way I adjusted my brakes on my last trailer was to tighten until locked and then loosen for a light scrapping sound. Might have to adjust several times to get it right making sure all brakes are even. My magnetic brakes were not adjustable, as I recall.
So some scraping is normal.

RE: please help me understand

Sounds to me that you have a better understanding of weights than most people.
For a fifth wheel you can plan about 25% for pin wt. My last fifth wheel (28ft) was 23.5% for pin wt. 2350lbs actual pin
My GVWR was 8800 and my truck wt was 5960 so I was ok.
Your problem is with the 4 wheel drive and all it loads down your payload and in theory you could not tow my old fifth wheel. Ford does not seem to increase the GVWR to allow for the wt of 4wd.
As far as the math you just add the pin wt to Gross Truck wt and make sure it is less than the GVWR.
If you decide to get the fifth and go over your GVWR make sure you don't go over your GAWR's and make sure your tire loading is ok. For my old 97 Ford I increased the tire size for safety reasons.
