RE: Why Do McDonald’s Burgers Look Different in Ads ?

I worked with an electrical engineer that married a food stylist. Yes, she really went to college and got a degree for that. Many of the problems with photographing food are related to heat. Almost all ice cream in pictures is substituted with something else (one substitute used is mashed potatoes) because ice cream will melt too quickly under the lights. That picture perfect turkey - probably raw inside while it looks perfectly beautiful on the outside. He used to laugh about how she could make food look beautiful, but no one could eat it.

RE: Collecting Dogs DNA?

A friend is moving into an apartment complex with those same rules. I had never heard of it until she said she was taking her dog to the apartment office to get his DNA on file. At her new apartment after the third time, you are evicted according to the rules.

RE: Why do RV shows (and others) charge admission?

Just went to the annual RV show in Greensboro, NC this weekend. The units there were almost all 30 foot or longer. We are looking for a hybrid and there was only one in the entire show. Many vendors that have been there in years past were not there. We decided to spend the rest of the afternoon going to dealerships that were not represented at the show. We spoke to the manager at one location and he said last year they spent about $20,000 to attend the show and decided not to participate this year. I knew it was expensive for them, but did not realize how expensive. He also said he had many customers who ended up as his dealership after leaving the show.

RE: Common Courtesy, a thing of the past?

I was taught to use sir and mam at all times. I heard from so many people in my teens please do not call me sir or mam it makes me feel old. I have made no effort to teach my children to use sir and mam. They have heard me use it, and do occasionally use it themselves, but when you are asked please do not address me in that manner, you get out of the habit. I still make sure please, thank you, you're welcome, and holding doors open for others are taught and practiced.

RE: BECAME A FOSTER FAMILY YESTERDAY/UPDATE WITH PICS

Wow, I really don't listen to the news. I am just a few miles down the road from Walnut Cove and had not heard of this. Thank you so much for what you are doing for these dogs. My first dog as a young married person was an abused chow chow. He was the best dog I have ever had, although we lost him much to young when he was attacked by two pits that were active in the dog fighting community. When he came to my family, he was covered in mats so tight, the vet had to knock him out to clip his fur. I named him Raggmopp.

RE: R C helicopters?????

My son has several of the very small indoor only helecopters. After trying them not sure I would ever get enough courage to try the larger outdoor models. I strong sneeze directed at his seem to throw them off course.

RE: Harlee "The Vicious Attack Dog" ... Adopted 10/26/07

Pops, you may not recognize my screen name, but I have read every post about Harlee and Calvin with great joy. I almost feel as if I know you and your clan from the posts. I grieve for you and with you. May you find comfort in memories and the support you find here.

RE: My kitties are the best

I wish is was always that easy. I only have three and my oldest hisses and spits at the others every time they walk by. No fighting, but still they have been here three years get over it already. The oldest is only eight so the issues are probably not age related. She will barely be in the same room with the other two and refuses to go to the humans inside the house but will love all over you if you are outside with her.

RE: Zebulon hides....

If he gets bored staying in the trailer, you may want to try leash training him so he can go outside and go on walks when in the trailer. It may make him more interested in going.
