RE: I got locked in for a while, what if it was a real lock in.

You should have your fire escape windows that push out.

RE: Brand new - "AS IS" ??

I wouldn't worry to much about it. Like mentioned above they are just being up front that they do not warranty the trailer. It is covered by whatever the manufacturer offers. By the way, did you keep your jayco also?

RE: Silver Lake Sand Dunes.

Well I just called Silver Creek and there is a $250 non refundable deposit to get on the list and more than likely a 2+ year wait to get in. For over $3000 a year I might just start looking for a piece of property up there somewhere.

Suppose to be sunny and mid to high 60's all weekend and cool at night. Just how I like it.

RE: Silver Lake Sand Dunes.

I've stayed at Silver Creek numerous times. It is a nice and very well kept park. We have friends who have seasonals there also. My wife wants to get on the waiting for a seasonal for us. The only part about it that I don't like is the lack of mature shade trees. There's the loop section in the back that has the nice shaded part but it would be years before we could have a chance at one of those.

Dodge guy, we have been out on the dunes about 8 times this year. Might run out there tonight for the sunset.

RE: The road ate my cable ;-(

I had this happen once on my Snowmobile trailer. Some butt connectors and electrical tape and she was back on the road again. That was 13 years ago and its still going strong.

RE: Jayco Jayflight - opinions from owners...?

We absolutely love our Jayflight 28BH. I bought the Jayco for its quality reputation and my opinion is that it is your best bang for your buck compared to similar models. We bought it new in 06 and when its time for a new one I will buy another Jayco.

Silver Lake Sand Dunes.

Had a great first weekend up at Silver Lake Sand Dunes. Only issue was a small occasional leak from the toilet valve. I thought I had it fixed last year when I found a loose connection on the intake water line but it is still leaking but a lot less. Here is a picture from the walk my wife and I took yesterday morning.

Same here and I don't use the sway bar. Never had an issue in the past 7 years of towing our TT.

RE: Next truck

I've never been a dodge guy but my buddy at work has a 90's? Cummings and that thing runs like a champ. I can't say bad stuff about any brand. All Trucks I have owned have been GMC. I have had pretty good luck with them. The bad part about the 2000 GMC is the cab corner and rocker panel rusting issues. It still runs great with 180000 miles on it but its time for some body work to be done to it.

RE: Pets are NOT to be left unattended... what??

Last year we brought our dog with us for the first time. We left him in the trailer and walked up to the camp office. We were only gone for 10 minutes. When we got back the people camping behind us told us that the dog barked the whole time. I apologized and thanked them for letting us know. When we went into the camper he had the screen tore out of the bottom of the door. We were a little surprised that he did this. He is a perfect dog at home. Never has chewed anything and the only time we hear him bark is if he is outside and there is somebody walking through our woods. We are currently camping as I type this and I bought the Sunbeam Sonic Egg at Petsmart. We are going to try it out today. We are going to take a walk and our friends next to us will let us know how it goes.

RE: Pets are NOT to be left unattended... what??

Given the varying degrees of rule interpretation seen here, there's only one interpretation that matters: the park owner's.
I wonder how it would be accepted in a park to leave a recording of a dog barking playing all day. Or loud music. Or people having sex.
probably wouldn't mind the having sex one lol.

You can get the refurbished Ultra Fad 3502 on eBay for less than $100. That is where I got mine and it works perfectly.

RE: Travel Trailer Bathroom door lockset

Yes that is smaller than your standard residential. But there is enough wood there to chisel out to make it work. Your hole into the wood needs to be minimal 5/8 wide and 3/4 high. And that is cutting it to close assuming the latch and strike are going to line up perfectly. Take a pencil and mark out the hole section on the strike. Remove the strike and with a sharp chisel carefully chisel it out and reinstall the strike.
