Nice parks around Riverside, San Bernardino?

We have medical issues that leave us with limited reserves, but are going to try to take our rig (43' class A, with a tow)from Chula Vista, CA to Las Vegas (and from there to my dream of returning to Yellowstone), taking 215 from Chula Vista to 15 north. We hope to stop to rest one or two nights somewhere the Inland Empire--say around Riverside-San Bernardino--one that's (in order of priority) 1. safe, 2. nice, 3. hopefully has pull throughs. We live in Indio but have never had occasion to search for a park in that area. Does anyone know of a nice place to stay?

RE: shower grate

There's a plastic vent at the front of the shower base, attached with two painted philips screws. Open that and you have access to the trap from underneath.

RE: Gastric Paresis emergency

USC may not be that far, Emzee. We're still up in the Bay Area, waiting to see a neurologist. Her doctor now thinks the problem may be an injury to the vagus nerve, which would explain why she also has problems breathing and with her heartbeat (100+, though she's well underweight now) She's on a new medicine too, but she's only taken it a few days. Too early to tell if it will work. God bless you all for your kind words and help.

RE: Gastric Paresis emergency

Thank you so much. We have met with Dr. Linda Nguyen, the director of Stanford's Digestive and Motility Center, who has given us the name of a USC specialist named Dr. Edy Soffer. Once again, we are so grateful to all of you.

Gastric Paresis emergency

There have been so many kind people out there who've offered suggestions to us in the past that I decided to ask one more thing. My wife, who's had a lifetime of spinal issues, is now having critical GI problems with motility. They have been diagnosed as gastric paresis, which basically means her stomach is no longer moving food down the pike. She's lost 20 pounds in the past 2 months (down to 102) and has been hospitalized 4 times during that stretch. Doctors have told her that her only options are a major operation, which she might not survive, or an experimental and very harsh medicine (ditto). We've handled most of her treatment by basing ourselves out of our RV up at Stanford, but as I have a compromised immune system (leukemia)and due to the infectious season starting, she is adamant that we have to try to get back home to Indio, in Southern California, for her further care. I found the Mayo Clinic and Johns Hopkins have are the top facilities for this but she refuses to go there without me, and refuses to expose me to the trip. I am therefore searching desperately for a doctor who specializes in this particular malady and practices in the Coachella Valley--i.e., around Rancho Mirage, etc.. We have doctors at Stanford and Eisenhower (in Rancho Mirage) trying to find someone, but so far no luck. Does anyone out there by any chance know of someone like this? Failing that, I know UCLA has a top program, but don't see anyone on their website that actually deals with it. Has anyone dealt with them on this sort of problem? Thank you.

RE: Johns Hopkins

Thank you all so very, very much for taking out time for these suggestions. We unfortunately have to avoid public lodging because of my own weak links, but the other ideas may prove very helpful. And thank you for the well wishes. Funny how these difficulties can make you realize how lucky you truly are.

I need to take my wife to JH for some extended medical care, and for other medical reasons we need to use the RV (and stay out of public places). RV parkreviews doesn't list a park in all of Baltimore(!) anyone know of a place near the hospital? Thank you kindly

RE: Full Showers?

I like it too, but per a number of cautions by repair facilities we've tried to avoid kitchens on slideouts.

RE: Full Showers?

Thank you all so much. We'd be towing behind a Suburban. Our current shower is in a 42' Mountain Air, up from a 37' Bounder. We liked both showers, but preferred the Newmar's because my wife has a lot of trouble standing and we need to have a stool in it for her. We love our coach, but are having increasing difficulties handling physical things--just the stairs are getting harder. But can't give up the RV world--it's been such a blessing for us both.

Full Showers?

We are thinking of changing from a Class A to a TT that can be towed behind an SUV--not a 5th wheel. Does anyone have recommendations for TTs which have full showers. We're also interested in slideouts, but the full shower is the big thing for us. Thank you kindly.

Fishing in Walland, TN

We're considering a trip to Walland, TN, to see the lovely Blackbery Farm resort. Checking RVParkReviews we found a Misty River RV park which seems to be well regarded, but ar curious about trout fishing around there. Any fishermen/women who've had experience out there, and could recommend a guide or other suggestions?

RE: Looking to upgrade- Advice needed!

We've had a 43' Mountain Aire for 4 years, and had many, many other RV people, including non-Newmar owners, comment on the quality rep Newmar has. We have been extremely happy with the product and hope to keep it the rest of our lives. Suggest you get a 2-3 year old one. I believe some of those do have 1 1/2 baths, among other things.
