RE: "how to" on installing a 30 amp plug at your home?

I called a random electrician in the phonebook, he was an RVer so he knew what I needed. He installed a 30 amp outlet for my TT on a dedicated breaker right under the panel in my garage for $70. I would have paid more for the peace of mind that it was done correctly and for the convenience. In hindsight I probably should have put in a 50 amp. I'm a DIY kind of guy but when it comes to electricity I let someone else handle it.

RE: Personal Preferences changed again

Mine too, but oddly, I don't recall ever getting any email from them. Maybe they're going directly to the junk mail folder. I'm not going to let it bother me until I get a lot of email that bothers me.

RE: How many free drinks is ok?

I get it, I believe you're offering a tongue-in-cheek comment about the forums. I think though that it's somewhat troll-ish and going to stir up trouble. I do hope you have a wonderful holiday!

RE: First time visit to Camping World store

I have always found the staff to be helpful but not pushy at all. I was at one of the Myrtle Beach locations on the Friday after Thanksgiving and they were wonderful.

RE: General Question about Hybrids ~ need some help

We had a Starcraft Antigua HTT for a few years that didn't leak, but we too had moved up from a PUP and we thought the HTT was the answer. We ended up eventually trading it for a TT because we had a lot of trouble with condensation and we were tired of one of us having to crawl over another to get up in the middle of the night for a bathroom run.

Jensen AWM970

I have a Jensen AWM970. I have 3 sets of speakers, Selections A & B are for the inside, and C is for the outside. On speaker selection A, one of the speakers does not have sound. We tried all inputs, then I tried changing the speaker and connecting it directly from the unit and still no sound. I tried changing the wiring and can get the speaker to work with wiring intended for the outside speakers. It came with our Jayco when we bought it new in 2009. I contacted the manufacturer and they said it is not covered under warranty and they don't repair them. I didn't really think it would be under warranty but thought I'd try. Should I just change the wiring permanently from the wiring for the outside speakers since I never use them? (this will probably bug me long term that something isn't working in my TT.) Should I buy a new unit and if so, what are your recommendations? I'm not sure I want the same one due to the failure but I like it. Should I do something else? Thanks in advance!

RE: Source for swing arm television wall mount with latch?

Maybe this one will work.

RE: Camping World service

I get it that the days of free tire checks are not common as past-MIdirector said but shuthrbug is a Good Sam member and disabled, if I was working at Camping World, I would have done it for free. Whats the world coming to? A little good will would have been appropriate in this situation.

RE: Conversion to LED taillights on trailer- tug problems?

I replaced my tail lights a couple years ago with LED Combination Stop-Tail-Turn Lights from Command Electronics and they work very well with no impact on the function of the turn signal. When we first got our TT, it seemed at times that I didn't even have my turn signal on because people would continue to pass me when I was trying to change lanes. It may be my imagination but I don't have a problem anymore since making the switch to LED.

There are a couple of videos on YouTube but I'm on my iPad and can't figure out what the URL is to include it here.

RE: Cleaning the oven

DW has decided she's done with cleaning the camper oven so she bought a Rival roaster oven for our turkey day camping trip. I'm hoping it works out. Good luck with your oven, open the windows!

RE: popup shut off switches

Isn't it just a safety issue so that a light left on when the PUP is closed, it won't cause a fire? Personally I think I would still want a switch of some type but I don't think you have to have one.

RE: OBX during Christmas

Maybe I shouldn't get involved but sometimes I can't help myself... Wil, this thread is about rv'ing at the Outer Banks, it is not about key strokes or the language. The OP(original poster)wanted information from people who have visited the Outer Banks. He had a target audience. People who have visited the Outer Banks at all in the last decade know what OBX identifies. Those people are the ones he wants a reply from. From the Internet: "James Douglas came up with the OBX abbreviation in 1994, borrowing the idea from similar shorthands used in Europe. He initially gave the stickers away, but later formed OBX-Stock and affixed the letters to bumper stickers that celebrate the fishing and vacation destination. OBX-Stock had annual revenue in 2004 topping $1 million."

RE: OBX during Christmas

We live in NC and have not camped at the outer banks in NC because someone suggested a place in Myrtle Beach to us and we keep going back. We have spent the last three years at the beach for Thanksgiving and if we didn't have small children would probably do it for Christmas too. The beach is so different at that time of year that in some ways it's more appealing to us than during the summer. There are fewer restrictions on the beach in SC and instead of everyone quietly lying on the beach, people are riding bikes, walking their dogs, flying kites, playing ball. It's a fun atmosphere. The cooler weather makes it nicer for sightseeing and sitting outside without breaking a sweat. I think you'll have fun, sorry I can't provide help for NC. Eric

Myrtle Beach Travel Park Storage

I haven't had time during the day to call MBTP, does anyone know how the storage works? I'm looking for the price and when we've been there I've seen what looks like employees bringing TT's to sites and removing them from sites. Is that part of the price or is it additional? We live about 4 hours away and it would save us money in gas, I'm just not sure yet if I want to store it so far from home. Thanks for any help or thoughts on the subject. Eric

RE: Front speaker LCD/LED TV's?

Visio 26" at Walmart has front speakers, on the bottom. That said, most LED TVs have poor sound, as the speakers are very small. The manufacturers have finally figured this out, and have realized that there is a way to make money on it, by selling sound bars for these TVs, and charging way too much for them. Think about a set of inexpensive computer speakers, or best is to connect your radio speakers in. That said, one of the sound bars would be easy to hook up, and would probably sound really good, just realize that 150 Watts may not make for good neighbors at a campground. This pretty much sums up what I was about to type! The stereo in my TT has an aux input so I run the sound from my TV through it.

RE: Stcky keys

Laptop keyboards.. I've replaced at least 4 I hope that wasn't on the same laptop! No :) Not on the same one. My dad bought my children laptops when they were too young to have them so that was how I started!
