RE: Enon Beach Campground, Springfield Ohio

RVParkReviews has 2 reviews for 2012 and they're not good. I live in the general area but have not heard any good comments at all for this place. In Jan 2011 a Springfield police officer was shot and killed in a shoot out there. My advice would be Dayton Tall Timbers KOA. Yes, it is about 20 miles away but Enon beach is about 15 and driving the extra 5 for the KOA would be worth it. As for the previous state parks mentioned, while they're great, they are not close. Just my 2cents worth! :)

Route Help!

I would like to know if there is a website or a book etc that shows the best routes for larger rigs throughout the US. We are traveling out west up into Montana, down into Yellowstone and then back home. We have a 38'FW and want to find the best scenic routes that would be safe for us to travel on. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Across Wyoming

We're planning our big trip for 2013 and will be traveling from Ohio out to West Glacier. We will then head down to Yellowstone, then to the tetons and from there, head home. We were planning to take Rt 89 south from Yellowstone to the tetons and then take 26 to Casper then 25 south to 80. We will be pulling a 38' FW and was concerned about the roads. Can anyone tell me if this is the best route to take to get down to Interstate 80 to head east? Thank you!

RE: Between Yellowstone and the Tetons

I want to thank you all for all your help, we very much appreciate it!! This is going to be the biggest trip we've ever taken and these two places are our last two stops before heading home. We will be taking all of your advice you've given us and making the end of our trip great! Again, thank you

RE: Between Yellowstone and the Tetons

The are so close that they run into each other therefore there is no in between Never being there before and looking at the Google map they just appear to be at different locations. :h On the map it shows Yellowstone north of where the Tetons are located and I was thinking of a base camp somewhere in between those two maps points! :B

Between Yellowstone and the Tetons

On our last planned stop on our big vacation for next year my husband said he would like to stop at Yellowstone since we would be so close. I noticed the Tetons were just below Yellowstone and thought that finding a place in between would nice to be able to see both. Can anyone give us suggestions on a place to stay that would, preferably have full hookups and accomadate our 38' FW? We like wide spacious sites and do not like to stay in sardine cans! :B Thank you!!!

RE: Mount Rushmore SD area ideas

Wow, wow, wow! It is going to be very hard for us to wait for this trip next year! I thank you all so much for all your suggestions. Are there any Indian reservations or museums etc. around the area? Also, for the Needles Hwy, we have a Dodge dually, will we be too wide to go through the narrow opening??? Thank you again!!!

RE: West Glacier KOA vs Mountain Meadow

We stayed in Mountain Shadows for a week and enjoyed it. Clean park and we had enough room for us on our site for the trailer, truck and car. It was quiet and at the time I had my own satellite for internet so have no idea how their system works. They had a pond with fish you could catch. Some sites were tucked into the side of the mountain and may or may not have been level, mine was fine. The park was well kept and quiet and we would return next time we go back there. Did you mean Mountain "Meadows" instead of "Shadows"? Thanks!

West Glacier KOA vs Mountain Meadow

Before I set my reservations in stone I wanted to know what your opinions were of West Glacier KOA vs Mountain Meadow in Hungry Horse. We are pulling a 38' FW and like very large wide sites so you're not on top of your neighbors. Any pictures of either place would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!!

West Glacier area ideas

We're planning our next years big trip out west in July to West Glacier Montana. So far I'm planning on reserving 4-5 or more days at West Glacier KOA. What are the must see's and do's in the area? Is there a better area to stay in than West Glacier? If so, where do you suggest to stay at? We are towing a 38' FW. Thank you!!!

Mount Rushmore SD area ideas

We're planning our next years big trip out west in July and we're making a stop over in the Mount Rushmore area for about 4-5 days. Other than Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse what else are the must see's and do's in that area? I plan on making a reservation at the Rafter J Bar Ranch in Hill City. Thank you!!

RE: Hocking Hills State Park, Ohio

Loving God's Country! What sites did you like and dislike at the state camp site and why is the KOA better? The reason why we chose the KOA over the state park was because when we did take our drive down to look at both we decided that the state park had too many short sites for our 30' TT. It seemed that many sites had the front of the TT too close to the road for us. These were the ones on the main road, I believe. The sites themselves to us just didn't seem that great as we once remembered them to be from before. We then drove down to the KOA. We really wasn't expecting to like this campground as we normally do not like staying at private campgrounds because the sites are too close together for us. We were pleasantly surprised when we got there. The owners were very gracious, gave us a site map and let us drive through their park. For a private campground, we were surprised how nice the sites are. Now, I have to tell you, when we did camp there, we camped on one of their deluxe FHU campsites which was worth the extra $. It was just a nice overall experience at the KOA and I would definitley recommend it. It wasn't far from all the trails either.

RE: Hocking Hills State Park, Ohio

How far away do you live? If you live within an hour or so, drive to the state park, get a site map and pick out exactly the one you like! We have done this many times and have been VERY glad that we did. We've even driven as far away as 3 hrs and made it a nice afternoon drive! The last time we drove to Hocking we went to the State Park and even drove down the road to the KOA. We have stayed at Hocking State Park before but after looking at both again we chose to stay our last two trips at the KOA. We love it there which is surprising as we normally like state parks! Just a thought!

RE: Where to find a good used truck!!

Miracles do happen! He found exactly what he wanted and surprisingly quick! He found his truck on Craigslist and it was only about an 1 1/2 hrs away. He's already looked at it and put a down payment on it. :B He truck is a 2000 Dodge Manual 6 Sp Cummins 4X4 Dually 150000 miles and paid $14000. He is cannot wait to get it! Side note: I'm going to brag on him a little bit! He is 18 yrs old, just graduated from HS and is heading to UNOH into their Diesel program in a couple weeks. He has known that he has wanted to be a diesel mechanic since the age of 14. Since 14 he has went through 8 or 10 (I've lost count!:h) trucks in various states of condition. He has bought and sold 6 diesel motors and has changes out at least 6 motors. I am very proud of him! Thank you all for your input!! :)

Where to find a good used truck!!

I am wanting to know what other options are out there to find a good used diesel truck for our son??? We've looked at Craigslist, Ebay, AutoTrader and TruckTrader but we're not finding much options in what he is wanting and thought I would pose the question to you all! What he is wanting is what you would want in a tow vehicle so I thought I'd start with you guys. Can you provide me with any other options (websites etc) that we can look at? He is wanting to find: Dodge 3500 Diesel Manual 4WD Extended or Crew Cab $15000 or under We would GREATLY appreciate any direction we could go as we have exhausted our options that we know of! Thanks!!!
