RE: Suggestions Please for first Snow Birding to Arizona

Yuma is the warmest and sunniest place in the USA. But not in the winter. Jan highs of only 70 and lows of 46---brrrrr.

RE: Towing a 13,500 dry weight 5er?

Dry weight isn't so important. Pin weight and gross weight are.

RE: Noisy hitch

If you have loose pins and you "know" the noise comes from them---I can't help. But any "clunking" starting or stopping I ever heard came from the hitch pin sliding in the hitch.

RE: Battery location

The batteries are probably in a battery compartment that has a door about the size of a battery. Probably up front somewhere.

RE: Fresh water tank filling

Do you have a "city water to fill the tank valve"? It might be open.

RE: Key West in May

There is no problem driving into Key West. There can be parking issues in the Duval area. If you get there early, shouldn't be a problem. I've been there many times with my dually pickup.

RE: Caravans

I have been on trips with Baja Winters, Adventure and Fantasy. I would recommend them all. I would pick Adventure over Fantasy. At the time, you got a couple of more days for a few less $ and they were a little easier to deal with. I was thinking most of the caravans stopped running the mainland trips around 8 years ago. This thread interested me, so I checked the current Adventure and Fantasy trips. Not much---mostly Baja and Copper Canyon. Not like the old days when each were running multiple trips as far south as Belize. Just checked my passport 02/25/2007 in Belize.

RE: Nose high

Is that thing in the back of the pickup a hitch? Never seen anything like it! What's it's rating?

RE: Anyone towing a Elite / Mobile Suites with a 1 ton

I have a 41' Elite, Dry 17, GVW 21. Pull with a Duramax Dually. Have NO problems. Before that, had a 38' Newmar Dually, GVW 20. Pulled that well over 200K miles with Duramax Duallys (and that one Dodge). NO problems. I would never consider a SRW.

RE: Toilet Seal Leaking

I changed my toilet seal once, don't remember what brand. Loosen a big "hose clamp", lift china bowl off "riser", seal lays right there between the two. Takes a few minutes.

RE: What RV gift did you get from Santa?

I didn't get anything. Must have all I need. That's kinda me. I didn't get anything but a Corvette Z06. Yep, sure needed one of those.

RE: The RV Wave

. Sport bikes and touring bikes usually use the 2-finger "V" wave (signifying 2 wheels?). Maybe this is a regional thing? I ride in Nebraska in the summer and the Keys in the winter. A lot of the Keys riders are rentals. But most "bikers" I see use 2 fingers, pointing down or out---meaning "keep 2 wheels down". I even use 3 fingers for the 3 wheel folks. As far as waving from the RV---If I can thumb through a Good Sam campground guide on the steering wheel, you guys should be able to manage a wave.

HDMI Repeater

I'm looking for a HDMI Repeater---know of a good one?

RE: battery location

Only batteries in a properly vented "battery compartment"---or box.

RE: considering Florida residence with Montana llc

Florida has no income tax, but unless they have changed their overall tax basis recently, you will get raked over the coals if you have any investments and income other than basic retirement type. There is no Florida State Tax Return to file---so who would be doing the raking?
