RE: Keeping RV registered in different state after moving?

I live and own homes in Florida and Nebraska. I have a pickup, couple of motorcycles and the fifth wheel registered in Nebraska. I have a pickup, car, several motorcycles and boat registered in Florida. The Nebraska vehicles are insured through a Nebraska company, Florida vehicles in Florida. The insurance for all of that, a couple of ATV's and a 3rd home isn't cheap.

RE: Best way to stabilize a big 5er ? Hydraulic landing gear ?

You need something like this for the rear end--- http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/economy-rear-electric-stabilizer/64875

RE: Camping near Rapid City, South Dakota

X2 on Rafter J. Nicest campground in all of the Hills. Not so close to Rapid City. And I sure it's booked full for several weeks.

RE: Lippert Auto Leveling

If it's nose high to begin with, you need to run out the jacks a bit, before extending the legs. Then you will have "room" to lower before the jacks are all the way in. I use 6" blocks under my jacks to decrease the extended length. I try to get equals parts of extension leg and jack.

RE: Dry ice

I put the dry ice on top of the food and wad newspaper. Closed and sealed, it lasts 48 hours.

RE: 2016 MS36RSSB3 Review and Weight's update

I priced one on the Augusta site. MSRP of $162, they want $120. That's about the MSRP of my 2014 Elite Suites. I paid $112 to a dealer who went to Ind to pick it up and has taken very good care of me. Including coming over to the house to work on the AC.

RE: 50 Amp Plug at Home

We have a plug installed on the side of our house also but I dont want to damage the batteries by leaving it plugged in all the time. It should be OK to plug in all of the time unless you have converter problems.

RE: Summer camping in Florida

I'll give you just one name of just one of the many RV parks closed in the area during the summer months. Why not name the others that you know of?

RE: S.W. Florida filling up.

I live 150 miles south of Ft Myers--no brown water here. Come on down and stay at Blue Water.

RE: Are RV forums dying?

It's just simply due to the fact the moderation here now is vastly different than 10 years ago.

RE: Suggestions Please for first Snow Birding to Arizona

Yuma is the warmest and sunniest place in the USA. But not in the winter. Jan highs of only 70 and lows of 46---brrrrr.

RE: Towing a 13,500 dry weight 5er?

Dry weight isn't so important. Pin weight and gross weight are.

RE: Noisy hitch

If you have loose pins and you "know" the noise comes from them---I can't help. But any "clunking" starting or stopping I ever heard came from the hitch pin sliding in the hitch.

RE: Battery location

The batteries are probably in a battery compartment that has a door about the size of a battery. Probably up front somewhere.

RE: Fresh water tank filling

Do you have a "city water to fill the tank valve"? It might be open.

RE: Key West in May

There is no problem driving into Key West. There can be parking issues in the Duval area. If you get there early, shouldn't be a problem. I've been there many times with my dually pickup.

RE: Caravans

I have been on trips with Baja Winters, Adventure and Fantasy. I would recommend them all. I would pick Adventure over Fantasy. At the time, you got a couple of more days for a few less $ and they were a little easier to deal with. I was thinking most of the caravans stopped running the mainland trips around 8 years ago. This thread interested me, so I checked the current Adventure and Fantasy trips. Not much---mostly Baja and Copper Canyon. Not like the old days when each were running multiple trips as far south as Belize. Just checked my passport 02/25/2007 in Belize.

RE: Nose high

Is that thing in the back of the pickup a hitch? Never seen anything like it! What's it's rating?
