RE: You did it again.

I find that the plastic card fits in my wallet a lot easier than run-up blocks and is a lot easier to use. :B Don't mind the wait as it gives us a break and usually time for lunch or a snooze.:Z Thats the way we look at it too, Wayne. We overnighted in Med Hat and had Kal Tire look after the tire and rim as that was the company that sold them to me. We ended up paying 4.60 for the environment fee, the rest was covered by the road hazard warranty. We are now in Shaunavon, to finish off a job for about 4-5 days and then leave for Ontario. Macktee

RE: You did it again.

FWIW, I carry run-up blocks sometimes. If one tire on a dual axle setup goes, you can pull the other one up on the block and change the tire that way. Brian Thanks Brian, I usually have things like that with me but with this new Rig and set up, I must have left them in the other coach. But thanks for the reminder. Macktee

You did it again.

Left today for Ontario, and just outside of Red Cliff Alberta, one of the new tires on the cargo trailer let go. I immediately called roadside assistanc, and an hour and 15 mins later, wheel was changed by towing company (I don't have a jack heavy enough for it with the car inside). Well done once again Good Sam. You have come thru everytime I have needed you. Macktee

RE: Homesick Snowbird

Just getting ready to go out to work, thanks for the laugh Bob. I actually lived in the new part of the Guildford Mall area, back in 79 and 80. Macktee

RE: Two problems with Good Sam here in Canada.

Jim, I am not sure but I believe that you have to give SIN for any charge card. I have been a GS member for a long time and I have had no problems with their service. The Flying J charge card is something they pass along to their members, they are not one and the same company. It seems like a decent saving, although I have never bothered to sit down and do all the figuring. Macktee

RE: Cummins ISO 400 C0713 (wrist pin Campaign)

I realize that there have been some catastrophic break downs, but what if it never happens to you. And god knows I hope it doesn't. But you know darn well it will never happen close to home. I have had two ISL engines and both have many miles on them with now problems to date. I am not going to quit driving, because I'm thinking that the engine will blow. Macktee

RE: Just got a chill, WOW!

Thanks for sharing. I too have watched the movie many times and I have always been an old aircraft buff, and for that I am jealous. Very Cool. Macktee

RE: Call to DP owners esp Monaco Diplomat owners

As I posted before, mine was excellent, I just wanted some extras, thats why I traded. If you have done your due diligence, and you are satisfied with the info, write the cheque and enjoy. If you decide that the warranty is right for you also write the cheque for that. There are no guarantees in life, but we pays our money and takes our chances. Usually it works out fine. So far with the two used units that I have bought, I have been extremely happy. Best of Luck to you. Macktee

RE: 2005 Monaco Diplomat 40PDQ

Agree about maintenance records. Or get it checked out by a certified RV Tech. I had the same unit before this one. I liked it very much, and got great service. Macktee

RE: New tires - what DOT ok w/you?

I will only go 4 mos max. If more than that, and they can't bring them in. I walk. Macktee

RE: Dodge front end situation....ugh!

Amazing, I have had an 04 1500, 05 2500, an 07 Dually, and now a 12 1500 and I have had one dry tie rod end, on the 04 fixed on warranty. Other than that they have been exellent high milage trucks. Macktee

RE: What is YOUR Toad? (Four Wheels Down - not Dolly Tow)

We tow a 12 Dodge Ram 4X4 Quad Cab, and then we have a Dodge Journey that we put in an enclosed trailer, as it can't be towed or dollyed. Macktee

RE: age of driver

Its like anything else, some can handle it and some can't. I met a wonderful gentleman a couple of years ago. He was 83, going on 55. He looked and acted that way. He became a good friend and I would not hesitate to ride with him. I only hope I am in shape like that when and if I am that old. However, I would not have let my dad drive after 80, if I would have had my way. Macktee

RE: San Diego north to Oregon

If you have never been there, I would suggest Chula Vista RV Resort and Marina. It is a little pricey but it is a wonderful park. It will depend on the length of stay. If just overnight, there are other places up I-15, sorry I don't know how good. Macktee

RE: Lake Mead Nevada to Valley of Fire State Park

We have bypassed Las Vegas a few times over the years, via the Valley of Fire. What a beautiful drive. We normally take the road that takes you right thru Overton. We have been on it when they were preping it for new pavement. And now that it is done it is great. I think it may have a toll now, as last year they were just putting up a security shack on the north end. Macktee

RE: Tired of The Same Place

Come on people help the OP out, give him some names. I'll just sit here and listen. I would love to find this Valhala. I am not making a joke. I think all of us that snow-bird, and full time are looking for exactly that. Good Luck. Macktee

RE: Dealer wants more $$ after delivery! Seriously???

I personally would have to know what the money is for. I would demand them to show the proof, that it was part of the deal to begin with. If they can not, then as someone else had said, too bad so sad. We all make mistakes and have to live up to them. Macktee

Oh Dennis that was great. I hadn't seen it and just about died laughing. Of course I am a huge Jeff Gordon fan. ( Since day one) Macktee

RE: First time Class A buyers

I believe you have gotten some very good info here, from excellent sources. Good luck and hope to see you on the road. I did buy two Monacos from Sylvan Lake RV and they have treated me well. Only if you are interested. JMHO Macktee
