Sealed underbelly - HEATED TANKS

Hi My TT spec sheet states that it's equipped with heated holding tanks. Just curious how that works, since no obvious switches or thermostats can be found for that. Would they be automatic? Thanks,

RE: New TT - a few issues.

Kpack nothing yet. The back has normal venting. Nothing up top though and must admit it does get warm up there.

RE: New TT - a few issues.

Thank you very much, sir Seals look good on the slide room, dealer probably tweaked it up so that it clears the floor when moving

RE: atwood water heater

Do you have a bypass system? If yes, ensure the valves are correctly positioned

New TT - a few issues.

Hi folks, Been breaking in the new Prime Time Avenger, a few things have come up and looking for a bit of insight: -The brakes have been jerking quite a bit on hard stops from higher speeds, dealer says no issue but problem persists. Pulsating quite a bit - could it be a drum has been warped from overheating? Brake control ajusted by me without too much effort. Its not the TV. -Pull out was damaging linoleum when retracted, dealer adjusted. Now the pull out is slightly tilted (away from the TT) when extended - approx 1.5" when putting a level on the outside of the pull out. Is this acceptable? -I know its been hot, but the freezer (Dometic) had a hard time keeping stuff frozen hard. Fridge was quite full at times, but last one (same model - different trailer) appeared to be more efficient. Max cold setting. Ideas? Other than that, love the new TT. THANKS for the insight...

RE: New TT! Prime Time Avenger 28 BHS.

Congrats! When we moved up to a bunkhouse it was very exciting. Have a great trip! Thanks, it was great!

RE: New TT! Prime Time Avenger 28 BHS.

Is the bathroom accessible with the slide in? Unfortunately not!

RE: Aliens have landed in the CG !

Why is he only pulling a little bumper pull TH with that. Pretty big waste of power... and money. He didn't need a truck that size to pull a camper that small. And yes, I know TH are heavier than TT, but that is still HUUUGE overkill. I'd say the "why" is simply 'because he can'. And TH are massively heavy, so I say if the biker business (or plumbing or office work or daycare) is good, go in style and spend it while you can cause you can't take it with you to the grave or prison!

RE: Driving when a tire “blows”

Personally. I believe it is because people can't drive any more. they never had to. all they have ever had to do is ride, and guide. but when a front, or for that matter any tire goes. you have to go from being a interested passenger to a driver RIGHT NOW. And most people have never had to drive. So they put it in the ditch. Or lock up the tires, and let it slide. As I have said before. NEVER give up. And small wheel moves are best. X2 start to finish

New TT! Prime Time Avenger 28 BHS.

Well, just days before we leave for our roadtrip to Maine, it appears the trailer fairy has gone and cast a spell on us. Suddenly, our faithful Puma - "Charlotte" - has been replaced by a much needed bigger unit. Prime Time Avenger 28 BHS - kids now have a bit of room to move and we get a pretty neat front bed. Maiden voyage this Friday! Cant wait. Anyone own a PRIME TIME product?

RE: ford f150 ecoboost tires

Every half ton on the market (except F150 HD) comes with passenger tires. You would probably want to switch to LT tires if towing heavy. Nope. My 2009 GMC Sierra 1500 came with LT load range C tires. it depends on the package. They were Firestone Transforce AT and did great for hauling, off road and on Quebec roads in the snow. 60 000 km and they were hardly half worn. Highly recommended.

RE: ford f150 ecoboost tires

are these tires not good for me to be towing with? P tires have less load capacity than LT tires which are built to handle more weight through beefier construction (sidewall plies, etc.) It's more a question of handling under load. For example, a vehicle with heavier rated LT tires would experience less roll when cornering, and a stiffer overall ride.

RE: Australian Campervans

I'm quite impressed by what the Gall boys use on their expeditions. Serious stuff. Conqueror Australia also know what they're doing - check out the UEV 490 on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpauUSmtJmA The units have an internal filtered fan that positively pressurizes the interior, to keep dust out. Amazing.

RE: Australian Campervans

The Aussies have it all figured out. You should see the tent trailers they bring to the outback. Unreal.

RE: Increase tow rating?

Sold-out I think. Need tickets for Heckman Pass: Heckman Pass, has a sustained climbing section of 1176m in 20.1 km. The steepest sub-section gains 900m in 9.7 km. Front-row NOT recommended for this one. Unless potato peels have been used to increase ratings in which case, the guys at the truck shop say I "should be good" if I "mash the long, narrow pedal until it don't go no farther".

RE: Increase tow rating?

I am most concerned with tearing my truck apart doing it. Or like some of the western provinces, will I have to leave the trailer behind until I can get a truck to tow it, if I get stopped by DOT at a road side check stop. As I previously mentioned the TV is '03 CTD with auto transmission. I have already put in a 4" exhaust and done away with the converter in the muffler and a cool air intake. In addition I put in a stage 2 Predator chip. They have up to a Stage 5, then they get into variable set ups. This is simply a plug and play system.Very simple to install. I may have to upgrade the chip. Please advise where do I get tickets to this show? Sold-out I think.

RE: 2007-2012 Silverado 2500HD Gas

I traded a 2010 2500HD CC 6.0 3.73 4X4 for the same truck in a 2012. The 2012 performs different than the 2010. The grade braking is not so aggressive and the torque management program seems to result in smoother engine and transmission performance. The ride is softer when unloaded on the 2012. The bed of the 2012 sits higher when unloaded. However when the trailer is hooked up the result is a level trailer with the same hitch setup used on the 2010. I think all of this is a result of spring loading for a better unloaded ride. The 2500HD went through a major re-design in 2011. The outside looks similar but the frame, suspension, and brakes are much different from the 2010 and earlier models. Fuel tank capacity was also increased to 36 gals in 2011. My 2012 is too new to give any valid mpg reports. The 6.0 mpg seems to improve for many owners around 25000 miles. My 2010 ran around 10.5 mpg towing my Airstream trailer (6300#). Typical unloaded highway driving ran around 16mpg after I got beyond 25000 miles. Non-ethanol gas had a major positive effect on mpg and general performance also. I really like the gm 2500HD 6.0 for my towing uses. I guess that is obvious since I keep buying them. Good info, thanks x2- Before my 2012 3500hd, I had a 2008 2500hd (same motor, trans, axle ratio). The 2012 is a different, much better truck hands down. I noticed that my downshift brake on the 2012 is less aggressive as well but as I am breaking it in (15k now), I noticed that it is becoming a bit more aggressive now. This is a good thing. I love the 6.0. I just wish it had the butter-smooth ride my 1500 had! But that would be eating the cake too...
