RE: 3-axle tire wear.

MY 2006 is doing fine with the tires that came on it, check tire pressure, cover the tires when not in use, treat the tires with a good tire care product. Most of all rotate the tires... My tires are doing great and I pull some weight in the toy hauler, 200 gal of fresh water and 70 gal of gas with two road bikes.

RE: HDT coverage?

Im not going to gamble with a business that gives two different answers to the same question. I can't go on the road hoping that the person that answers the phone call for a tow is the one that thinks Im covered, and sends help. With my luck I would be sure to get the person that says I'm not covered and would wish me luck and not send help. I do understand people with my setup are not real common. Sorry to say I just signed up with a different company that understands what I have and will cover me. I know good sam is great I am a former member, and I have friends that are very happy with good sam ERS. At this time because I need to be sure to be get help I went some place else. If in the future Good Sam could with out question cover my set up I would go with Good Sam.

RE: HDT coverage?

Well last night my wife and I decided to call and sign up for the ERS. When I called I explained what I was looking to cover, an HDT with 38 foot fifth wheel. The man that I talked to was very kind and stated that he had to check and see if a semi tractor used only for RV would be covered. I was put on hold and then informed that because it would take a special big truck to tow my truck and it could not always be found when needed that my truck would not be covered. This makes two contacts with two different answers. If I was sure to be covered and not turned away if I needed a tow I would sign up. Looks like if I would be covered a memo would have to be put out to call takers to let them know this type of vehicle is covered. Or maybe a picture and weight of the vehicle to be covered should be submitted to you for approval then a note in the file under the members name could be placed showing the call taker the truck and 5th wheel is covered. Just a few ideas. At this point I guess I will keep looking around for coverage from someone.

RE: truck vs 5th wheeler

One day the truck that feels great at it's limits, will not feel so great when someone stops short and fast in front of you! But what the heck thats why you have insurance and attorneys for right?

RE: pulling with new gm's

I lowered my truck and then moved the pin up as high as I could.. It was a little work... Ok I know it not the same type of truck but think it out and you can get it done.

RE: Matching a truck with a fifth-wheel

Save your cash and go for a HDT like I did look around and you can find one at a good price. Paid $9000. for mine with 75,000 miles on it from a business that was going belly up. You cant find a camper thats too heavy for it! Im getting 9 miles per gal. http://www.hayabusa.org/forum/attachments/busa-haulers/228057d1312255222-ok-i-jumped-off-deep-end-now-p6070051.jpg width=800
