RE: OHIO RALLY GROUP 2013 SCHEDULE
Our youngest daughter and her husband welcomed their new baby girl this morning, Emma Sophia. It was a long night at the hospital but the reward came about 9 am. Roger brought brother (22 months old) to the hospital to meet his new baby sister. He proudly wore his "Big Brother" t-shirt. I think he's going to be very surprised when that baby shows up at his house! We plan to mold little Emma into a camper just as we have our other gkids :)

RE: Pop-outs during wind?
We've been through some pretty crazy storms and brought ours in once or twice. Been lots of times we probably should have but since our slide out awning has already ripped during one of the bad storms, we've left them out lately. I think the worst winds we've had lately were 25-30mph with gusts up to 40. We're a motorhome with just the driver's side living room slide.

Sorry we've never been able to make this rally but glad to see it continues! Our dogs are doing good, hope all of yours are as well. Our rescued chihuahua is thriving, having doubled her weight (not over weight, just healthy) since we saved her from being put down and she's so full of life and personality!
Hope you all are doing well yourselves! I am still struggling with medical issues and any prayers are greatly appreciated. If anyone ever gets down near Destin, let us know, we'd love to get together!

RE: Fridge running while driving?
We've been fulltiming in our motorhome for 3.5 years, 2 of that was spent in constant travel. Never spending more than 10 days in one spot and always leeaving our Norcold fridge on while traveling, fueling, filling propane, in tunnels, over bridges, during storms, while snowing, in extreme heat and everything in between without incident. :h

Where are the best sources for workcamping opportunities or next winter?
Subscribing to Workamper News magazine, joining KOA's online job site, identifying an area where you'd like to work and contacting campground close by, going to state park websites and looking up volunteering opportunities and the other chain is Legacy RV Resorts, go to their website and apply.
The campground I work at has an employment section, go to Camp Gulf, scroll down to #5 and Fill out the Pre-Interview Questionnaire to be considered.

Just got my bill last week Roger. Better check with Kim.
Oh, and that beautiful sunshine this morning;GONE!!! Replaced with about 4+ inches of snow!!!
Eek! 4+ inches of snow!?!?! We've been having a lovely mild winter until Saturday when there was a big fundraising race/athletic weekend and of course it had to get COLD!
Not so bad for the day events but Saturday from 7pm until Sunday at 7pm 6 runners set out to break the Guiness World record of running 24 hours in the sand.
The wind picked up and the low dropped to 35...and the runners dropped to 4. But the record of 83.04 miles was broken! Joe Fejes, age 47 from Georgia, took the title with 134 miles. Connie Gardner, age 49 from Ohio, took the women's title with 116 miles. It was an amazing feat to witness! And the money raised went to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.
And luckily our lows are back up to reasonable temps! Y'all keep warm, spring will be here eventually!

Had an excellent turnout at the annual after Thanksgiving get together. If I haven't missed anyone we had around 25 people, 2 of which were from the country of Germany. So great to see Tonya and Greg again. Had a little spitting snow/iceballs on the way home but nothing to speak of. Hope all had safe travels home, and hope to see you all again soon.
So glad Tonya and Greg could be there!

Also if anyone is interested, Camp Gulf is looking for a workcamping couple willing to make a year commitment. The positions are Reservationist for her and Beach Patrol for him. Reservationist must be good with computers and Beach Patrol is responsible for assisting guests with site parking. It's really a great place to work and we'd love for someone we know to come work with us!
