RE: Towing with lifted truck

6 in lift has to stand out in Fresno. 6 in drop would be the norm wouldnt it Lol

RE: Towing with lifted truck

That is what my Expy has but my tires are ALOT smaller I am sure. I know it is alot of work (and money), but if it is not pulling how you want it, you would definetely benefit from 4.10 gears. Honestly it pulls fine. My 2010 had the 5.4L V8 with 3:55 gears. It pulled ok, but that motor was winding. I now have the Ecoboost. Man what a difference much better. The trailer now only needs to drop a little up front. It's not as bad as you would think with having a 6" lift

RE: Towing with lifted truck

Went from FX2 F150 to FX4 F150 with 6" lift. TT sitting a little high up front. Should I flip axles or use longer shank? Trailer is 6,500 loaded. Sounds like a sweet set up to me!! I would only ask what your rear end gears are? If you plan on having for a while, maybe an upgrade to those will help pull easier, especially witht the larger tires. Thanks, gears are 3:73 truck has max tow package.

RE: Towing with lifted truck

Thanks for the replys. I'm not going to lower my truck because I go to the dunes at Pismo Beach. There's hundreds of lifted trucks towing campers on the beach when I go. I tow 6-8 times a year. I guess I'll just have to get a longer shank & check other people's setups when I go back to the beach. Thanks again everyone.
