RE: KOA Reservations vs what you get when you arrive

KOA is like a McDonalds. Depends on the franchise owner and location. Some good some not so good.

Slide topper cleaning

Anyone find an easy way to clean the slide toppers? Anyone ever take them off to clean? I know some will say they are more trouble then benefit but the dirt they collect is not coming into the camper which is good.

Rhino flex "Y" adapter

We have the separate galley tank on our front kitchen TT and its located under the large slide. I use the rhino flex system now and really like it but am thinking about adding the "Y" adapter to my set up and letting the galley tank open while setup just like the gray water tank is for the shower. I have looked at th adapter on CW's website and can not envision how my setup will look. The confusing part is with the adapter and the bayonet connectors. Does anyone use this adapter? Any suggestions? Thanks

RE: Slide stabilizer

Many will debate this topic. I believe the manufactures ship the units that have slides with the bars. They install stickers showing where the bars should be placed depending on the size of the slide. My thoughts are this is to lessen their liability if the slide should fail and somehow come out the side of the unit. The bars would certainly prevent that from happening. I think the added pressure on the seals make the unit more water tight. All that being said do I personally use the bars? No.

RE: power tongue jack

looks like I can find a Barker VIP 3500 in white on Ebay for $200+20 for shipping seems like a good price, wish it was black Is the 3500lb sufficient enough, I have the trailer and a chevy 2500 hd 4x4 ext. cab. I have this jack and would not buy any other. Consider the model with the 24" post for times that your on an angle and need more height.

RE: Black water chemicals

I've used a little bit of a product called Odor Ban available at SAMs club.

RE: winterizing

For years and several different campers I have always blown the lines out with a portable 12V air compressor that has no tank. Always use the RV pressure reducer and always open faucets or low point drains. Follow this up by using the RV pump and pick up tube to fill all water lines up with the RV pink stuff. Always bypass the water heater first and drain the fresh water tank. Never had a problem in many years.

RE: water hose for black sprayer???

I always set up a "Y" connector with valves at the campground water valve. On one side I place the pressure reducer then the white water hose to the camper city water inlet. On the other side I hook up a green garden hose with a nozzle. I use that hose after each black tank dump for the rinse (minus the nozzle). That hose with the nozzle comes in handy for cleaning other things especially after a rain. But one of the biggest uses is for protection of the camper in case of fire.

RE: RV Bathrooms

I always thought these items in the bathroom were installed by dealer. Ours asked us about the location we wanted them before delivery.

RE: Full hookup waste hose

"Don't you want to have a clear connection that hooks up to the underside of the trailer, so you can moniter how clean your tank is after washing it?" Yes

RE: Full hookup waste hose

My Rhino lasted 2 camping trips this season and one end fell off. Same thing happened with some friends who had the same hose. Looks like others have had good luck with theirs so I don't think you could go wrong. I bought the Camco from WalMart and have had good luck with it. The connectors of the Rhino are designed to come off for storage of the hose in a bumper. The newer Rhino have a locking ring to prevent them from loosing. Expand the ribs of the hose at the end and thread the fitting on following the direction arrow to tighten. If you have the lock ring that goes on first with the cogs going toward the end so you can spin it in against the fitting. Rhino is the best you will find. I use a ladder support system with mine and you can always get the right length needed for a nice flow. Rhino has added some translucent and clear adapters now to see if you have a good flow or any clogs.

RE: Recommended gas grills?

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f264/mrstrauss/9941-768_500.jpg height=320 width=180 Coleman Roadtrip works great for several years. Got lots of accessories and the carrying case make it easy to cook most anything.

RE: Smells like sewage

Look at Sams Club for a product called Odor Ban and add some to your black tank via the toilet. I also add this to the grey tanks. http://www.pippinwholesale.com/NONFOODS/OdoBan_Odor_Eliminator.jpg height=320 width=240

Need Tire Help Please

Want to get Maxxis tires but can’t find them locally. I have a tire shop that agrees to have them delivered to them and will balance and mount them. I read posts about Tire Rack but cannot locate Maxxis M8008 tires on their site. Read about Tire Discount and found them for 115 each with free shipping but not sure if I have the right website that others are referring to. Any suggestions, thanks

Tire/Wheel Question

We had a flat on our TT along an interstate and had a repair guy come out and change it to our spare. After we got off the interstate I wanted to check the tire pressure on the spare and noticed he put the wheel on backwards with the valve stem on the inside. My question is does anyone know if this is a problem until I get to my regular tire place and have the tire replaced? We are only about 75 miles from home. Thanks.
