Anyone ever had a problem with this toy?

So our friends kid whos 3?? has a battery operated JD tractor the thing goes about 1k per hour(slower then walking speed) and auto stops when the pedal is released, my kids use to have one too and we took it out everytime we went camping, past weekend he was walking his son with the tractor and the park guys said it was a motorized vechile and his son couldn't ride it? He went to the front attendant with the tractor and asked why they said it was considered a motor vechile and dangerous and too fast..even after showing them the speed and everything they said no... So he asked what about the old folks scooters that people were running around and they had no answeres to that...
in your opinion do you think it's exceptable?? IMO from a campsite saying it's a family campground it's bull **** and we will be both will be showing them by not going there again.

RE: SUV pulling camping trailer tips over in Orange County

if you look at the pic of the tow truck guy taking the wd bars off it looks like it's only about 7-8ft to the axle. I'd guess it's only about a 20-22 ft trailer

RE: 1971 scamper 17 foot , interior panal replacement question

chances are the ceiling is all one peice then the interior walls were put in but if you just wanna replace the bathroom ceiling just cut around the perimiter with a knife (thats what I used) and then take that section down, there might not be a ceiling ribon along the edge right there to attach thenew peice thats when ya gotta get kinda creative same with the wall just treat it like drywall cut out the peice that is rotten or what not and then replace with new you might need to take a little more it hit a 2x2 and may need to run a 2x2 crossways to atach it better but again it just takes getting creative. you DO NOT need to take the outside skin off. Be ware chances are you'll expose some rot .. I reno'ed a 71 nomad last year and that project got big fast lol

RE: What about 4WD?

i used my 4x4 when towing a few weeks back went to family members new house being built up North it was nice and dry going up but after 3 days of rain and them running there 4x4 up the driveway it was horible. deep sloppy mud,, going downhill around the house .. I put it in 4lo and let the truck pull down and around the corner ... if I would have used the trailer brakes they would have locked right away with the mud... 4x4 is a no brainer when buying a new truck no matter where you live 3g's is nothing on a 50g truck...

Here's our new-to-us '73 Nomad. It looks better in pics than in person...but not bad in person either.

RE: 09 Ford 150

Yes, and no. We are towing with a Ford F-150 equipted with like you mentioned, but we tow a much smaller rig. I could not say. Maybe?
http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll120/DesertHawk46/2009%20Travels/DSC00318.jpg
My son tows a Cougar 5th Wheel, but with a ton Dodge diesel dully. I would not want to tow it with my Ford. I believe the dealer claims a 1/2 ton could tow it, but how well.
http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll120/DesertHawk46/2008%20Travels/P6150265.jpg
are you sure you have the max tow?
did you switch out the towing mirrors that come standard with the max tow package?

RE: Parents bought a 'New Class a"

Why be a kill-joy with their new purchase pointing out possible problems. Let them enjoy the "new" for awhile.
not being a killjoy just checking into it for them ....i.e things to watch for/quirks etc.. etc... I think I was actually doing them a favour but I guess no replys so alls good?
